Ascott Sentral Kuala Lumpur in Kuala Lumpur

We stayed here for three days, and it was a terrible experience. I've never stayed at such a bad Ascott. From check-in, it was unpleasant. The lady at the front desk, with a poker face, rattled off the room details at an incomprehensible speed, as if she didn't want me to understand, only slowing down when she mentioned that breakfast was not included.

Then, there were ants in the room, lots of them. You can see from the pictures. Although they sent someone to deal with them, there were still some.

Third, the air conditioning in the bedroom was faulty; it barely blew any air, even at 16 degrees. I called housekeeping, and they said they would send someone to check it, but no one came, even after we checked out two days later. The three wavy error symbols on the panel remained. AI diagnostics suggested a fan malfunction or that it was locked by the hotel's central control system.

Fourth, we left the 'make up room' light on all day on the second day, but no one came to clean. On the third day, worried that it still wouldn't be cleaned, we specifically informed the front desk (because the shower gel was finished, but I thought staff would proactively check, so I didn't mention the shower gel specifically). Only when I returned that evening to shower did I realize they hadn't refilled the shower gel, and I had to use shampoo to wash myself.

Finally, at check-out, there was only one lady sitting at the front desk, but she was busy cutting paper. I politely interrupted her, telling her I wanted to check out. She took my room card, fiddled with it for a bit, put it in a drawer, and then continued cutting paper. She didn't say a word to me the entire time, not even looking up. Only when I proactively asked if everything was alright did she finally look up and say 'yes.'

🤣 It's hard to imagine this is an Ascott with a room rate of around 900 MYR per night. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here. Although it's close to the central station, there are many much better options nearby.
