Velana Beach Hotel Maldives in Male

We loved our stay in this hotel! The staff waited for us in port to transfer us to hotel. Rooms are big, comfortable and sunny. Location is great, near bikini beach, restaurants, souvenir shops.. Breakfast is delicious and various. You can book all excursions trough hotel and staff will take you to meeting point of agency.
The staff is great, friendly and polite, but I have to mention Saminde who made our holiday here perfect!! He made every day special!! He made us feel like we are in paradise! Thanks to him we had extraordinary time and we will definetly come back (Everything was great, but he is higlight of our stay)!!!

I had an amazing three week stay here.

The price is fair, the breakfast was delicious but most importantly, the staff was the best. Unfortunately I don't remember everyones' name, Monir from Bangladesh and Sam from Sri Lanka were some of the memorable ones but honestly everyone made me feel so at home. They helped me with all my needs and requests and went above and beyond from booking boats from the reception to bringing me tea to my room and the cleaning service providing me with extra water and support.

Not only that, but the location is central to everything, in about five minutes you're at Bikini Beach, and then you are so close to various restaurants. So honestly, for price, people, and location, this place has it all.

Spent 4 nights here Jan 2026 and had a pleasant stay. Rooms are basic but absolutely fine. We didn't include meals so can't comment on the food. Good, friendly service. Picked us up from the harbour with our luggage and took us back on departure. Great locaiton, easy to walk anywhere on the island and v close to the non-bikini beach which was great for snorkeling. Good spa where we enjoyed a massage on the ground floor of one of the hotel blocks. Very happy with our stay for the price we paid!

had an absolutely amazing stay at this hotel! Everything was perfect — the place was exceptionally clean, fully equipped with everything I needed, and the atmosphere was just wonderful. Honestly, these were some of the best days of my trip, and I regret booking other hotels instead of staying here longer.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming — always smiling and ready to help. Their warm attitude made me feel right at home. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, clean, and memorable stay. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The hotel is fantastic. Neatly maintained and friendly staff. Sitting right next to the beach is quite a perk. Go for the sea facing room and you can just bask in the view.
Just like everything, nothing is perfect. Toothbrushes and paste not included in the toiletries, something I wish they had mentioned. There's a hookah bar opposite to the hotel and there's the smell always looming. If you don't like that smell then closed windows are the only option. Food options are good, even for a vegetarian. But you will get bored as days pass (cannot comment for a non-vegetarian). Plenty of other eateries on the island.
You get bicycles to roam around the island, some gear to do your own snorkeling next to the hotel. A kayak too.
Overall, a great place to stay when in Maafushi.

Hospitality of staff, cleanliness of room n the serene white room interiors and delicious breakfast and dinner...all that I need in my vacay...my solo trip.
Special mention and shout out goes out to the owner Mr.Remansh. His endeavour is not for customer satisfaction...he goes out of the way to give customer delight. Can you believe he ordered new adult bicycles so I could ride around coz the existing ones they had were smaller n more for younger ones. I truly thank him for this gesture n for making my trip exciting n memorable. My best wishes to the entire team of Velana.

i had last dinner in the restaurant there … I can’t express my thanks to Mr.Rimaz and the all stuff there … everything was prepared in excellent way …in perfectly time … the food was so delicious and amazing… the table and service was super excellent with very nice view on the beach with candles and lights…. Everything was perfect even they helped me to catch the last boat to airport…. Thank you all

Had complained online about the hotel telling that submarine was not open while other had told it is open and they shared the number also. Hotel reached out and apologised promptly, sought to get the details so that the can help other guests... A very positive approach indeed. Hence adding one more star for the service.
