I started out in my younger days staying at 3 star hotels working myself up to 5 star hotels these days. On this recent weekend trip i held back on my post xmas spending and got a great deal at Kore so I took a chance on it despite all the negative reviews. I think the 1 out 5 star ratings are ridiculously unfair. Rooms were big, clean, and comfy. Location was decent and had great views of the sea. I only had breakfast as I like to get out and explore, so I couldn't tell you much about the quality of food. The waiters were good, as soon as I sat down, my coffee was poured. After they recognized I tip, I never had to wait in line to get my omelets...lol. best part was the service from the front desk concierge (the Mexican soap opera looking guy) Victor. Dude was always so nice and helpful. Upon checkout, I had a late flight out, he knew that I love bike riding, so he let me keep my bracelet to have access until my shuttle arrived. I did not experience most of the issues on these reviews. English speaking staff was a challenge, but i found that was an issue everwhere I was in Tulum. Overall, if you were to go by the strict AAA guidelines, this hotel would probably recieve a 3-3.5 rating and closer to a 4 by the generous booking sites. This was no Hyatt, but a good value. Dont let those 1 star ratings discourage you.

My rating does not include the quality of food...

Let’s see/ the place looked beautiful online but it was DEAD.
Service is slow and non chalant and they care way more about trying to upgrade you than accommodate you.
I did enjoy the free bicycle but it ended at 6 pm.
It’s a $40 USD cab ride each way to go catch dinner on the hotel zone with others.
The room at a hot tub that only ran cold and takes 40 min to fill.
The tv remote would not switch to English
The ac stopped working at 3 am
They only left 2 bottles of water for whole stay in Mexico where you can’t tap.
The room fan didn’t work
The water pressure was super low.
The water turned off from 4-7 am as in no plumbing !
Oh and I paid for a $75 USD dinner and then proceeded to get extreme food poisoning from it. The phone to call the front desk was not answered till 7 am.
They told me it was probably from a mosquito” and that they could only extend my checkout 1 hour without charging me another $100. I was so sick I couldn’t leave the room. No one came to help w bags. When i did leave at 1 pm the lady was like “you’re my very last checkout” as if it was my fault I got food poisoning at their resort.
The taxi to get to hard rock riviera maya was $108 USD… all around … not a good stay even if the property looks pretty.

I have stayed in so many all-inclusive hotels, and this one is one of the most rubbish. There is only one restaurant and no beach.
Very very bad attitude! We were assigned a house without hot water, and communication with the front desk was fruitless. We had to ask Ctrip to help communicate. It took 3 hours to change us to another one...
Really invincible garbage, the Chinese people avoid lightning!

- We got very disappointed regarding the service. We felt that the waiter thought that we were annoying every time we ordered something which is not okay since it is all inclusive. The food wasn’t good at all. No good service and the food was not good

+ The service is absolutely phenomenal. The food was amazing as well.
- The beach ain’t swimmable, kinda a bummer. Having guest come by isn’t very welcoming. Understanding since it’s all inclusive.

We stayed at the Kore Tulum for our 3 year anniversary in April. Overall we had a great week and enjoyed our stay. All of the staff members were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious without being all fried and terrible for you like we’ve had at some resorts in the past. The bikes at the property do need a little bit better upkeep. The first day we took some our, the chain on my husbands bike kept coming off and we turned around half way into our journey and just went back to the hotel. As long as you get bikes early before all the good ones are taken it’s okay but ideally they should really just replace old ones so that it isn’t an issue.

I had the worst experience ever, DON'T STAY IN THIS HOTEL. I went to Tulum for two days and I had an issue with the bell boy of the hotel who left the car keys inside the car and I lost a whole day because I had to wait for Hertz to send a locksmith. The worst part was that the manager was never around to answer to our complains and that the staff had no empowerment to offer us any solutions. We spent half of our vacation complaining with the hotel staff and received nothing in return. When we asked them to pay for the taxis considering we were unable to use our car they had us wait two hours in the hotel lobby while they tried to reach the manager to check if they could pay for the Taxis only to answer that the bell boy would have to pay for the taxis because it was his mistake and not the hotels. Of course we paid for the taxis and decided to leave as fast as we could from the hotel. The bell boy made a mistake he is human but what is not acceptable is that the manager was never around and the answers that they gave us.
