The hotel stay was okay I mean it is beautiful. However, they don’t offer welcome drinks even with the high price it costs. No breakfast too.
If you are an influencer or you have a blog, you can’t fly a drone. They can’t even send you pictures or videos either.
The bathtubs are dirty as they are made from mosaic and I don’t think they scrub them. It is not wheelchair friendly. You can’t flush toilet paper as it’s an eco friendly resort. To be honest it was a waste of money I wouldn’t come here again.

It’s really uncomfortable and inconvenient hotel.
No light , dark , dirty and no doubt the property it’s amazing.

The room was very comfortable, though privacy was a bit lacking. However, embracing nature and experiencing Mayan culture was incredibly artistic, and the service was excellent.

I stayed at Azulik Tulum in one of the smallest rooms, and I have mixed feelings — both admiration and realism.
First, let’s be honest: Azulik is visually stunning. Architecturally, it’s a dream — truly built for aesthetics and Instagram. The design is beautiful, organic. From a visual and conceptual point of view, it’s easily 100/100.
However, when it comes to comfort and practicality, it’s a very different story.
Azulik is a pure jungle experience. That can be magical, but it also means:
Very limited privacy
A toilet behind a divider
No hot water at night
Minimal comfort overall
I understand this is intentional and part of the concept, but when rooms can cost up to $2,000 per night, you naturally expect a balance between artistic experience and luxury comfort — especially at that price point.
The room itself was cute, but definitely not designed for longer stays. This is not a place you want to stay more than 1–2 nights max. After that, the lack of comfort becomes noticeable.
Service was not good. I understand this is Mexico and things move differently, but for a hotel with such an international reputation, staff speaking English should be standard, especially since most guests are travelers from the other countries.
The beach service closes early (around 4–5 PM), so the experience feels very limited.
A few small but important details:
The matches in the room were extremely horrible to light, which becomes frustrating when candles are the main source of light, and I love candles idea but if you are reader this hotel not for you!
Cleaning could be better.
Hot water should really be available 24/7 at this level.
Overall, Azulik is an artistic, aesthetic, and spiritual concept, not a comfort-driven luxury hotel. If you come knowing that — and stay one or two nights only — it can be a beautiful experience. I think its important to remind guest on checking in what are they signing for, coz people don't like to read descriptions and coming for views then being disappointed.
Come for the vibe, architecture, and photos.
Don’t come expecting classic luxury or comfort.
Beautiful idea, powerful concept — but it could truly shine even more with better service, basic comfort, and attention to detail. And I`m not asking a lot here.

After reading many negative reviews, I decided to try it out myself. Personally, I really liked it; the experience was great, and I lowered my expectations.

The photos turn out very well.

Very bad, extremely bad. The waiter was unkind. There were big cockroaches in the room. It was useless to clean it. Anyone who lives here knows.

The hotel exceeded expectations. It was really nice, well designed, with many facilities. The receptionist's attitude was average.

It was extremely bad. They used sea water for bathing, it was extremely noisy in the room, every waiter acted like they owed her millions and their attitude was extremely bad. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, bar none.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS
False Instagram Marketing - not a luxury experience.

SO, this hotel has a "no-refund" policy, but I believe that is because the quality is so terrible that a lot of quests wish to leave after they see how bad it is there.
There are NO SHOWERS, and NO LIGHTS in the room. They also don’t allow cameras here (probably because they don’t want updated photos to compete with their marketing from 10 years ago.)
First, they didn't give us the room we booked. We booked a sea villa, and upon arrival, they gave us a sky villa. Then when we arrived someone came to our room to deliver food for another guest but we were not dressed and realized there were no blinds / shades so anyone walking by could see everything. No blackout blinds for sleeping and there were lights outside shining into our room.
Second, they failed to mention there would be an ALL NIGHT LONG party and it would not be possible to sleep on the night of the 31st.
Third, the entire resort smells like mold / rotting water and the overall quality of service and attention to detail was the worst l've ever seen at any resort.
The rooms do not have any privacy and you can hear other guests ****** *** because the rooms are all closely connected.
Overall, we were disgusted by this property and could not stay for the following 4 nights and had to leave due to lack of quality in every way imaginable.
Food was good but service took FOREVER.

Beautiful hotel!! Spent an amazing week in a villa with my husband and we will never forget it. Our room was leaking a bit with the rain. Overall a wonderful experience. The museum was beautiful and the other location was well worth the drive to visit if you have a car.

Most beautiful restaurant I have ever been to. The design is amazing!
Food is great, but more globally inspired than solely Mayan. Woukd like it to be only local food and ingredients but understandable that this is done for accommodating most people.

Amazing and beautiful place with a very good quality food

Walking up into the restaurant we had no idea what to expect. The ambiance of this restaurant is breathtaking and exploring its many walk ways was amazing. Our group could not sit still at the table because we were too busy exploring the place. I give it 4 stars because our first table was right by a “remodeling” area and the chemical smell was overwhelming but they redeemed themselves by graciously moving us. I did the 8 course meal and it was sooooo good. The bone marrow trio and the rack of lamb are my favorite and the dessert presentation was spectacular. $260 for an 8 course meal and my boyfriend had a gratuitous size lobster dish is amazing. You could not pay that price in Texas at the best steak restaurants and get as much food as we did. We’ll be back upon our Tulum return.

Far out players. Maybe the most unique setting I have dined in..ever. Victor (server) is the jam..hooked us up with a lovely dessert when we mentioned we had a birthday in the party. The service is graciously attentive, if not slightly too spaced. Overall the energy is exceptional, matched with ambient music, romantic lighting, good looking servers and a diverse menu. But hookah-tokers beware. $120 FOR SHISHA. WHAT....did someone just reincarnate Machiavelli? Pawned!

Tries too hard to be creative. The ambience is nice. That said, make sure you have a breeze or the heat and mosquitoes will destroy you. The food was largely bland and overly complex. Start with doing something simple well and build from there. Main course was solid. Wait stay but absent for periods of time. Quality did not match price.

This place's food is extremely delicious! Get the skirt stake or the fried chicken. Amazing food, well worth the wait. Speaking of which, the wait after we ordered the food was extremely long. We went there twice and both times the service was very very slow/non existent. They forgot our drink order once and the second time they had to place our food order twice.

Great service and even better food! The pasta is made fresh on site and in front of you. We are definitely coming back!!!

Great service and great food

Fantastic food, good service. Point lost for lack of vegetarian options (it's the 21st century guys, vegetarians exist, deal with it). One option on the main menu isn't enough ... And salad's don't count... Also, the pizzas aren't great... As for the rest all very cool.
