Riad Melhoun & Spa in Marrakech

If names like Muhammad, Ahlam, Jamel, Abdul, and Ahmed stay with us, it’s because we’ve just returned from our first trip to Marrakech — and these are the wonderful people who welcomed us like family and made us feel truly at home, away from home. The riad and its team were absolutely charming, with genuine care and constant attention to detail. Our hammam and massage experience was amazing and made our anniversary trip even more special and memorable. The food felt homemade and was very reasonably priced. Our room was a little small, but clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained by the staff. A special thanks again to the entire team — kind, helpful, and always welcoming. They struck the perfect balance of being warm and attentive while remaining professional and never intrusive. A beautiful place, in a great location, with easy access to the main area of Jemaa el-Fna. We would happily return.

Our stay at Riad Melhoun was exceptional. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. While there’s no alcohol (which is common here), the fresh smoothies more than make up for it—honestly some of the best we’ve had. A special thank you to Mohammed and Ahmed, whose kindness and attention to detail made the experience feel truly personal. The entire staff went out of their way to arrange everything for us seamlessly, which made the trip incredibly easy and relaxing. The riad itself is beautiful—peaceful, well-designed, and a perfect escape from the energy of the medina. The Royal Hammam was exactly what we needed after traveling—restorative and expertly done. The location is also ideal—right in a wonderful part of the medina, close to everything but still quiet enough to unwind. Would absolutely stay here again.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Riad Melhoun. It’s a beautiful place tucked inside the medina—peaceful, calm, and decorated with great taste. What truly made the experience special was the staff. Abdul, Ahmed, Nour, Youssef, along with the rest of the team, were incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming. And the food—simply outstanding. The chef is an amazing woman, cooking authentic traditional Moroccan dishes with incredible skill. We honestly had some of the best food in Marrakech right inside our riad. I will definitely come back again!

We booked this riad just the day before as a last minute holiday and were delighted when we got there. Riad Melhoun is an oasis of calm, cleanliness and hospitality hidden just off one of Marrakech medina's bustling, noisy and dusty streets. Mohammed, Nour and the team will welcome you with open arms (and fresh mint tea) and the entire riad is just a perfect sanctuary. It's a really great location too - not far from the main square and souks, and the top floor balcony means you can enjoy the sunshine from a number of lounge seats.

This hotel is particularly good for couples - quiet, romantic and perfectly placed for exploring more of Marrakech. And make sure you book dinner under the stars for at least one night you're there....as well as a traditional hamman for a true Moroccan spa experience. Heavenly!

We booked the Riad Melhoun 24 hours before we boarded the plane and it was a SUPERB choice. It's located within the Medina, tucked away in beautiful alleyways that lead up to the main square just a few minutes walk away where you can buy anything and everything in the busy market square.

But close the door behind you when you enter the Riad Melhoun and you're immediately immersed in an oasis of calm. No more busy streets, mopeds, street vendors...just blissful calm. The Riad is run by Mohammed and his assistant manager Nour, and they literally couldn't be nicer, more helpful or more accommodating. We had the room on the top floor which allowed for lots of sunbathing and beautiful breakfasts in the morning sun.

The small Riad pool is cool, but well worth a little dip (even just for your feet) after a long day wandering the streets of Marrakesh. The spa facilities are great, have a Hammam massage, they are amazing! And if they are putting on a set meal in the Riad (they pop little notices on the chalk board at reception) during your stay, make sure you partake, was great fun!

Couldn't recommend the Riad Melhoun enough. Nothing is too much, it's so tranquil and the staff are amazing. If we return to Marrakesh, I won't bother looking at any other place to stay, I'll be coming back here again. Thanks Mohammed and Nour!

Wonderful place to chill out. Very friendly staff, although it resolves around the 120 percent commitment of Mohamed. 5 star ratings are well deserved. Great swimming pool in the courtyard and a roof terrace for the breakfast.

The hamman massage was way too strong, ended up full of scratches, painful for days, would avoid it at all cost, that was a 1 star experience for me.

Amazing riad with the most caring and lovely staff. The most perfect place to stay, located just next to Bahia Palace, and only 10 minuted walk from Jemaa El Fnaa Square.

If you’re planning a trip to Marrakesh this has to be the best place to stay. The location on the edge of the medina is really convenient and the building and furnishings are beautiful. It’s the staff that really make it though. They are all, without exception, warm, friendly and professional. They really want you to have a good time and nothing is too much trouble. A stay here feels like a genuinely Moroccan experience. Very highly recommended.

Amazing stay! The room, the food, the spa, and all the staff were beyond fantastic. It was an incredibly relaxing experience, the perfect start to our trip. We especially appreciated how well looked after we were when my husband was unwell. Thank you for such a brilliant stay.

amazing and beautiful place, we loved the service and the staff was really helpfull. The area is quite but all in walking distance. The garden and all around it with tiles are so cool and inspiring we will come back for sure
