Hotel Riu Palace Calypso - Adults Only in Morro del Jable

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Riu Calypso on Fuerteventura, and it was truly an exceptional experience. This hotel is absolutely wonderful, especially following its complete renovation, which has elevated the entire property to a new standard of modern elegance. The location is unbeatable, offering stunning views and easy access to the beach. Every aspect of the stay was on the highest level: Service: The staff is professional, attentive, and incredibly welcoming. Food: The culinary variety and quality exceeded all expectations. Rooms: Spacious, stylishly designed, and very comfortable. Cleanliness: Impeccable throughout the entire resort. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a premium holiday experience in Morro Jable!

Our second visit, the first being in 2024 pre modernisation, first the positives, the staff in the bars and restaurants were excellent, so efficient and friendly. Location couldn't be better. Reception good although some had a struggle to understand my English, I know I should have learned more Spanish I did try this year, they are, or seem to be fluent in German . The room was very good and the beds extremely comfortable with everything you might need. The pool area and outside areas again were spotless and well looked after. We hired a car ( recommended)and although we were told on arrival there were no spaces, I had to park on some rough ground about 1 km away .The next day I asked again, a different receptionist, and was told there were several available. The parking set up is good once they allow you to use it. The main negative is the lifts, previously mentioned on several reviews, we were on floor 8 and ended up walking down 8 flights of stairs on many occasions as there are only two very slow lifts. As our last visits to the Calypso and Riu Jandia palace, Robert and Juliet were the evening entertainment and made no attempt to include English guests as they only spoke German, as did DJ Herbie, the best by far were The two of us who used English as their first language but made sure they spoke in German as well, they were excellent. A female vocalist also did the same on our last night, again very good. We knew we were a minority when we booked as we have been before, the German guests were very friendly, just a shame not all the entertainment was.

Our 6th visit to the Calypso and first since the upgrade. We thought it was perfect before but with the updated rooms, restaurant and reception it is even better. The rooms are all very spacious, well equipped and it's well worth paying the extra for a sea view. Staff are all very hardworking and helpful. The food is, and always has been, plentiful and of good quality, with lots of variety. The position if the hotel, right on a beautiful beach, is superb. We welcome the lack of loungers on the beach and appreciate the freedom that this brings. Who wants to lie next to a complete stranger when you can spread out on soft sand! It isn't the cheapest 4* hotel on the island but we believe it's worth every penny. Thanks to all the staff. We will see you next year!

Lovely relaxed only adults hotel excellent food lovely clean pool plenty of sunbeds and a upstairs solarium right on the beach although sea very cold shops bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk mainly German clients but very friendly and helpful lovely staff

We were looking forward to seeing the hotel after the refurbishment and we weren't disappointed. It has been done to a very high standard. Reception is very plush and check-in was quick and friendly with a welcome glass of cava. The rooms are now very modern and bright with modern furniture and good storage space, very clean, and still the same stunning views from the balcony. We thought the food was delicious. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast and dinner. The outside dining area is much nicer now. It has been extended and has heaters which was good on the cooler nights. The staff were all friendly and we felt they treated all nationalities the same. We heard the lift was out of order the week before our stay. It was still quite slow so we walked up and down the stairs. Our room was on the fifth floor so it helped to work off some of the extra calories we had consumed! The Calypso is one of our favourite hotels. We especially love the location next to the gorgeous beach. We had a relaxing holiday and would love to return next year

The Hotel is designed for the German guests and being English you do not feel welcome , the Hotel is lovely fully renovated but the pool area is very clinical and lacks atmosphere , we joined the Rui app when we booked and they asked for suggestions we asked for a high floor quite and good views , we got low floor over looking the Car park near the lift maybe it’s because we are English

Beautiful property, fully renovated in October, spacy rooms with amazing big balconies, good food, great service. Everything perfect! ps. elevator slow, but you can use the stairs :-)

Room, bathroom and balcony really well renovated and add to the quality and comfort of the hotel. Outside dining extended and very good. New specialist restaurant though limited menu very good. Staff well trained and could not be faulted. Have been visiting regularly over the last 12 years and will continue. Even though £Ms have been spent prices have not been increased more than inflation.

We stayed for 10 days in February. Loved it. Great location spotlessly clean staff were so helpful and friendly. Maybe evening entertainment could be improved some nights but otherwise couldn’t fault it.

Our 10th year in the Calypso. The hotel refurbishment was amazing, so much changed in such a short time. Downsides: No hot tub, Television in ridiculous dominating position in the bedroom room. Especially, being British there were no channels we could watch, and the link to Netflix didn't work. Miss the bar on the ground floor. There is now only one bar you can actually visit. Really believe a bar should be reinstated.
