Hotel HL Rondo in Playa del Ingles

I stayed here solo for one week in December. The hotel is modern, and clean. Well located. The reception and foyer area is lovely and chilled. Always a nice fresh smell. My bedroom was huge. 2 single beds pushed together (not a fan). Smart wall mounted tv. Good shower. Plenty of storage. No iron or ironing board (they gave me a hand steamer instead). Electronic safety storage box. Mini fridge. Housekeeping are fantastic, kept my room clean and fresh everyday. The pool area is beautiful. The loungers are comfortable. Always free loungers available during my stay. Lovely swimming pool. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of options! All in all, I liked the hotel and would stay again.

Excellent hotel in every way: structure and services: the reception and housekeeping staff are always very kind and attentive to guests, the rooms are modern and spacious, the bathroom has an excellent shower, the breakfast is rich with both savory and sweet options (a special mention goes to the egg chef...always smiling and very empathetic with guests), the pool is delightful, and the gym is fully equipped. I will always return to this hotel from now on.

We are an older couple (70’s) and were a little anxious that this hotel would not be our cup of tea! However all my concerns were put firmly behind after the first day. We had a lovely big room on 5th floor with a panoramic view of Del Ingles, could even see the sea. Room has everything you need and was well maintained, lovely big bathrooms with great showers. Towels could do with replacing but were adequate. We stayed B&B for 10 nights and had some great meals within easy walking distance, shout out to El Saloon opposite with lovely staff and although primarily vegan also have meat options in their tapas menu ( we are not vegan) Breakfast was very good and loved the cooking station for a variety of dishes, big restaurant and never seemed too busy, staff at breakfast were lovely, friendly and efficient. Also used the courtesy bus several times to the beach and to the lighthouse in Melonaras which has good views and a great museum for free Pool area was good and pool is heated to take the chill off, never a fight for beds and no early morning towels reserving. We first visited this hotel in May, and it was a 5 star experience, but unfortunately this September it did not live up to our prior experience, which breaks my heart to say. We arrived late at night, tired and thirsty. We went to our room, 512, which i had requested after staying in this room in May, and after plugging something in, bang, the electrics went. We went down to reception and the night receptionist moved us into 521, which was not a superior room and we slept there for one night, before moving back to 512 in the morning. Not the best start. We also had to run down to reception asking for some water as none had been provided in the fridge beforehand, as was done in May. The pool area seems to have developed an issue with sun bed reservations. There are notices to say not to leave towels, or they will be taken off within 15 minutes. This was not the case, and the best were often left with towels but no guests for hours at a time. We saw three life guards during our visit. The grey haired one was spot on, constantly around the pool, the second was a young man who sat and observed from a chair, and the other was an older dark haired man with longer hair who sat his phone and picked his nose and flicked it in the direction of the pool for most of the afternoon. Once again, the food trucks were not open, which are situation upstairs next to the pool toilets, including the disabled toilet, which is particularly odd as how is a disabled person supposed to climb the slippery stairs to the toilet? Just a thought. The pool itself has lots of dirt in it, as though maybe the filter is not working properly? Not the end of the world as we dont use the pool very often. The receptionists were not as friendly or attentive this time around, especially the younger ladies, and they did a lot of shrugging and did not seem to even entertain the thought of letting us pay for late check out on either of the rooms on the last day, so we had to make do with Room 114, which was a courtesy room where our party of 3 had half an hour to shower, 10 minutes each like a relay race. Someone had used it before us so there were dirty towels and grime in the shower cubicle. Not a great experience bearing in mind we could not fault it when we came in May and were SO looking forward to returning and having the same experience again. Also, the lift in the outside atrium were not working (the back of the hotel) so my mother in law in her mobility scooter always had to use the front of the hotel to leave the premises. Why not get the lift in service so we can all use both exits? As for the good points, not as many as last time unfortunately. The breakfast was edible, the fresh toasties were delicious and restaurant staff always welcoming and attentive, but PLEASE get better quality sausages, the frankfurter things are not the best for the supposed rating of the hotel. The room itself was the same as last time; modern, clean, airy and bright with huge balconies. Love

We, a family of 3, spent 11 nights here at Hotel Rondo. The rooms were quite spacious and I believe newly renovated. The staff was very friendly and service minded. Why not 5 stars? The pool.... The pool was a little small, the pool area was too small and therefore had too few sunbeds. And the pool was not always clean. (It had alot of sunlotion residue at the waterline) And it's a 15 minutes walk to the beach. Would I recommend this hotel? I think so. Especially if they keep the current friendly staff.

My husband and I stayed for 3 weeks and we had a fabulous time, First I would like to thank the manager very much for bottle of wine and chocolate on arrival as it was our 49 wedding anniversary also for lovely room superior suites exactly as advertised very nice We stayed bed and breakfast only which where outstanding the staff are so professional helpful and always had a smile also worked perfectly as a team The cleaning staff also where excellent,and not too forgetting the SOS staff especially the one with ponytail very professional goes with the rules from board ie no toys in pool etc…also bar and reception staff wonderful thank you all for making our holiday great,we will return again .

Great hotel, nice beds, lovely pool, excellent breakfast and friendly staff,
Only the rooms could be cleaned a bit better and especially the edges along the shower. A brush and a bit of scouring powder does wonders.

Very good hotel! Clean and very good location, easy access to everything.

I only have one small criticism:
The acoustics and atmosphere in the large dining room are not pleasant, as all the walls are bare. This could be improved with little effort. It simply does not do justice to the rest of the hotel.

Otherwise, I can only say that this hotel sets new standards in quality and service in Maspalomas! It was not only renovated like many other hotels, but completely refurbished and brought up to new building standards! And I know what I'm talking about - I've been going to Maspalomas every year for 20 years and know many hotels!

A lot of money has gone into this. I would just like to name a few highlights:

- the fastest WiFi I've had in Maspalomas so far (speed test showed all the way up); perfect for working remotely and making video calls smoothly

- the gym is amazing and free for hotel guests (see "Stark Fitness Club")

- there are only comfortable Bali beds by the pool

- breakfast and dinner are super varied and of very high quality (bread selection like in Germany with wholemeal bread, etc.). You can also book the evening buffet on site for €25 if necessary.

- bathroom is huge and has a double sink

- you can choose between several lighting moods on the bedside table and there are very good reading lights

- rooms are larger than average

- noisy at the back towards the street but the windows are completely soundproof. You can't hear anything and the air conditioning is very easy to control

- free room safe with interior lighting and big enough for notebooks

- kettle, free coffee

- all the staff seem happy and are extremely friendly

etc. etc. etc.

Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Jose at the front desk, setting a positive tone for our stay. Jose's warm, energetic demeanour was echoed by the entire staff we encountered, including Gian and Francisco in the bar (Francisco's cocktails were exceptional), and Oscar at the pool. The restaurant staff also left a lasting impression with their attentive service. Breakfast offered a delightful array of options, from cereals to pastries, with a skilled chef ready to whip up fresh omelettes and eggs. We were particularly impressed by the stunning foyer, which exuded elegance and charm, setting the perfect ambiance for our stay. The spacious rooms and comfortable beds provided a haven of relaxation after a day of exploring, Shopping and Walking the Beach. The hotel has recently undergone extensive renovations, both inside and out, with plans for a new fitness centre in the works. We're already looking forward to our next visit to Hotel HL Rondo—our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Warm regards, Joe & Valerie
