Riu Palace Meloneras in Maspalomas

Lovely holiday. Great hotel and food fantastic. A big shout out to Riu Fit team member, Naira, who was great. Her classes were excellent and she was very experienced in everything she did. She made our holiday even better

My wife and I have been staying in Riu Palace Meloneras 5 times now, and at this point it really just feels like our "home" in Gran Canaria. You have everything which you need in order to completely relax and rest: great weather, great service, great rooms, great food, spa and massage service, etc. As you may expect in a resort hotel, the pool area can feel a bit overcrowded, as everyone wants all the good tanning spots, but hey, that's the name of the game. It can also feel slightly overcrowded at dinner time, as everyone wants to eat at the same time, so some queues at the buffets, whether this is in the morning or in the evening, can be a bit long, but nothing crazy. All in all, we just love staying at Riu Palace Meloneras, and if we could afford it, we would go there every year for vacation: it is just so great 😊🙏

Our second visit to Gran Canaria. This one without children. The hotel was great. We had a couple of problems but they were solved straight away by the ever attentive staff. Our partial sea view room didn’t have a sea view, it did a couple of years ago but the palms had grown (who could have guessed that), anyway we were moved as soon as we asked to a great room. The food was great and a massive selection, salads, mains, fruits and sweets. I am not sure it’s the greatest hotel for children as the kids club seemed to be opened only occasionally but I can’t talk on that subject from personal experience. Also the hotel in February is very full of the 70’s plus. The pool area was very large and there were always chairs available. The entertainment in the evening was good but it’s not broadway. The location of the hotel was great with many shops etc all around. All in all a super holiday, we were there for 14 days which is longer than we normally go away for and enjoyed every moment. Have to say again. We loved it. We will definitely return, the weather by the way was great but I can’t guarantee that for everyone.

Stayed a week here with my son just to have a quiet and peaceful sunny break before heading to London for a traditional cold Christmas. This hotel exceeded all my expectations. Such a great location, such aa awesome welcome, as soon as we entered the lobby, we we warmly greeted by Marco at the desk and he settled us in quickly and advised us to go have dinner as the restaurant would close in 30 mins.
We exhausted as we were over an hour late and the airline had lost one of our bags. Dinner was great, the food was sensational, plenty of options, seafood, meats, roasts, salads, pizza and pasta and desserts!! The whole week, the breakfast and the dinners were first class. The staff were genuinely awesome and so nice and friendly, especially greeted everyday with a smile by Jose and Cristian, who always greeted us with a warm smile and always asked how our holiday was going. The room was a generous size with all the amenities to make it a very comfortable stay, especially the shower, absolutely awesome.
The pools, well, plenty to swim in and plenty of deck chairs, the adult only infinity pool overlooking the North Atlantic ocean was a feature.
There is a promenade along the ocean at the back of the hotel and daily walks along there were so relaxing and helped work off all the food I kept eating. Plenty to see along the walk, which ever way you went, there were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and local artists selling their wares.
In the evenings there were entertainment every night, and I have to thank the barman, Romero, who patiently looked after my son, who surprised Romero with the amount of Fanta's and olives he could eat and drink.
All in all a great holiday at a very lovely hotel, I woill definately be back again, not just because the hotel was first class, but the staff were so amazing and it's greatest asset. All the staff we met and had dealings with were wonderful, genuine, friendly and possessed great customer service skills.
Again, a huge shout out to Jose, Cristian and Romero for making our stay so memorable.

My stay at the Palace Meloneras was excellent overall. The room was good, and while the view wasn’t ideal it wasn’t a deal breaker. The food was consistently high quality, and the staff were exceptionally helpful throughout my visit.
The only area for improvement would be the evening entertainment, which I found somewhat tacky and not particularly refined. In fact, I would have preferred no entertainment over what was offered.
Despite this, I would happily consider returning, provided I found a good value package and a better room

Fantastic hotel! We were a family of 7 (28 - 85 years). Were stayed in the hotel part and had 3 rooms close together which is asked for. The staff were brilliant, everyone was really friendly and super helpful. The food was great, plenty of selection for breakfast and evening meal. The tapas was great, really good quality and beautiful location overlooking the sea. My mum needed a wheel chair which reception ordered for us (€60 for basic chair x 1 week). The staff in both the restaurant and pool then reserved space for us to make it easier for my elderly parents to get around but also gave us the ability to always be sat together. The rooms were spacious and very clean with walk in shower. The pools were great, we stayed near the middle pool as it had a ramp and hand rail making it easier to walk in for my parents. The beds around the infinity pool were always taken first, but the actual pool wasn’t busy. We were on the second floor of the hotel overlooking the shops, and didn’t find it noisy, although if you were in a room closer to the front on that side it might be noisier as there is a bar close by. It was handy having a supermarket outside the hotel. Hotel was in a great location. If you want to go in the sea and avoid the rocks then head a bit further down the beach to the yellow hut, there’s no rocks in the sea to stub your toe on. That part of the beach is nudist though. It would have been nice to have complimentary water in the room, at least on arrival. But, we had a fantastic holiday, perfect weather all week, my folks felt safe and well looked after by the staff. We’ll definitely be back!

Another wonderful stay at this hotel. This was our 3rd visit and planning another for next year. From the booking in, the rooms. Restaurant and pools everything was fantastic. The politeness of the staff and cleanliness of the hotel is great. There are numerous areas for sun beds and they are available any time of the day.
The only negative I can give is some nights the entertainment could be better but apart from that it ticks all our boxes.
Looking forward to our next visit.
