XQ Vistamar in Puerto Rico

Cozy and quiet apartment hotel. Nice staff. Located in perfect location with about 25 meters to the beach and ocean view from all of the rooms, which are both big and very neat. Free WiFi. All rooms have large balconies facing the sea. The only drawbacks: the pool is quite small and the rooms lack espresso maker.

Clean rooms could do with a bit off paint here and there great location just across the road from beach . Toaster and kettle in room got to be careful of shower does spill over onto the floor . Beware of pool man no towels down till 1000 very unfair I think when your on your holiday .Staff on from 1000 till 1800 we arrived about 0500 Sunday and was bloke around to sort out rooms . Holiday rep around most days from 1100 till 1330.

Such a lovely stay! Hotel XQ Vistamar in Puerto Rico is best situated, right next to beautifull beach. Rooms are spacious and light coloured. Beds are comfortable and new, clean matresses and memoryfoam-like pillows that are very good to sleep. There is a full kitchen you can prepare meals and there is a small restaurant by the pool. There are lovely people at the restaurant and you can get various foods and desserts and drinks there. Pool is cold (21degrees), that's only con! There is a washing machine to be used 5€/time, good with kids! And towels (for pool AND beach!) can be rented for 4€, it eases you to back. Restaurants and mini-markets are right next to hotel, and also ferry you can take to neighbour-villages. We traveled with my 6-year old in the beginning of january, I hope to return someday. For us it was a perfect weather, felt hot and summery but not too hot, walking was ok without swetting. I think it was 19-21 in shade during the day. Some clouds mostly around the mountains and at the sea. In the sun it felt 24 and more. We got inside and to sleep right when it got dark about 18pm, after that and in the mornings before sun was up it was chilly, many went jogging for it wasn't too hot for it. One thing got us a bit worried was an jellyfish -like- venomos animal called Portugese man o war, there were several observations and we saw one, but we swam still with no problems.

Just got back from this hotel and I would highly recommend its got a view of the sea and its central. The pool area is spotless it has a lovely little eating area and the couple who work there will go above and beyond for you. Rooms were very spacious clean lovely kitchenette free safe and air-conditioning which I think is a bonus. Front desk staff are very friendly willing to help and nothing is to much. There was one problem I had the information man singing outside first day wasn't to bad just thought he was happy with his job but a week later and he's still singing and killing them he was the only downfall but a set of headphones drowned him out.

Wow what a fantastic hotel. Booking in was so seamless receptionist was great. Then we got to our room absolutely amazing, looked out of the balcony and the view was fantastic overlooking the beach. We had a two bedroom apartment, one looking over the beach, free safe, which is the first time we have not had to pay for. There was everything in the kitchen you would need and more. Room was cleaned and clean towels everything other day. We had an unfortunate incident where we left one of our suitcases on the transfer bus and the receptionist helped us a lot, TUI not very helpful this time so very disappointed with them, but on the upside we did get it back, but had to go and get it back ourselves. We were so central for everything. So this visit we did not have to use the taxis as we could walk into the centre and just get a taxi ride back, which was only 4.25€. We never had a problem with getting a sunbed, plenty free ones nearly all day. As for the pool bar, (unfortunately cannot remember their names) the staff were wonderful, you ask for something that was not quite the same on the menu and they would make it for you. Always so friendly and the food was delicious, we loved the homemade lasagne, would totally recommend that. Ice cold beer and great food what else can you want. We only realised you could hire beach towels only 4€ and if you wanted to change was only 2€ so next time will be leaving our towels at home. We will definitely be back

We have just returned from a fabulous week long stay at the XQ Vistamar. We travelled with our 9 month old son and my mother and we can honestly say the hotel really did go above and beyond for a self catering hotel. We arrived late after our flight was delayed and Mario from the front desk was waiting out the front for us on arrival and helped us in with all of our bags so we could concentrate on our son. We were checked in in no time and able to all get to bed at 11:45pm. No request made throughout or stay was too much to ask. We asked for a high chair on our room the first morning and this was brought up within 5 minutes. The room was clean, spacious and had everything you could possibly need from pots and pans and a full size fridge with a smaller freezer. The pool area is clean and there were always plenty of sun beds with no towels being allowed to be left for hours reserving sun beds which I really liked. We had a late flight out with our pick up not being until 6:30pm and we were able to keep our room on until 6pm for 10 euros an hour which was honestly a godsend with a baby as we were able to chill round the pool most of the day and also give our baby 2 long naps in his cot. Honestly couldn’t recommend this hotel any more, it made our first holiday together so easy and the staff can’t do enough for you. Thank you to all the hotel staff and the staff at the pool bar for making our holiday so enjoyable and stress free, we will definitely be back!

We have just returned from the XQ Vistamar after 11 nights in a two bed apartment as a family of 4 with two children aged 12 & 17. Let me start by saying this is in the most perfect location within Puerto Rico. Immediately across from the beach and harbour, no steps to walk up! What more can you want! Especially when a lot of the hotels here are up way up & let me tell you the 450 steps we did up just to see the views from higher up was enough 😂. The apartment itself was perfect, two large bedrooms with twin beds within, wardrobe space & air con in the rooms was well needed. The bathroom albeit small is enough and has a double sized shower which is amazing at the end of a beach or pool day. The kitchen has everything you need & the living room is spacious with a couch and two chairs. The balcony has a table and chairs to sit out and enjoy the beautiful views. Plus a small airer to dry your swim wear off at the end of the day. The apartment is wonderfully clean, has air con throughout & size wise perfect for us. The cleaners come for two days in a row then have a day off which is more than enough. Within the apartment complex itself there is a washer/dryer room and an ironing room. The washer and dryer is 5 euro each to use but is of great size so you can get a lot done in one wash and only takes 40 mins. The pool is small but adequate and has more than enough sunbeds for the amount of apartments. There is a rule of no reserving sunbeds which we observed is a strict rule and saw towels removed by management. You do not need to reserve sunbeds here, in the whole 11 nights we was here if we wanted a pool day we never had an issue getting sunbeds and it’s nice to know you don’t need to get up at 6am on your holiday to put towels down so enjoy this rule don’t see it as a hindrance. The pool bar serves food and drinks, my girls loved the chips with cheese on (cheese on the chips is not on the menu but they were happy to oblige) and the cocktails were amazing especially the frozen daiquiri. The staff within the reception, all the cleaners & the pool bar staff are wonderful. Everyone is polite and accommodating. Whilst you have to check out at 11, our pick up wasn’t until 1645 but they are more than happy to let you use the luggage rooms and they have two large shower rooms which they provide you towels for so yes whilst you can’t use the pool after you check out cross the road, enjoy the beach & then have a nice shower before you get picked up. Within walking distance of the apartments is a selection of bars & restaurants, or you can take a 15 minute walk over to amodores beach which has restaurants all along it. The walk up to the commercial centre or Mogán mall takes about 15 mins and again there is a lot of choice for restaurants and bars. We recommend trying Pinnochios (Italian), tipsy bee (reserve your table online this place gets busy but the saxophone nights are amazing) and Servatico (the steak and sushi here are to die for).
