Hostal Alcina in Cala Ratjada

It's a good hostel , not expensive, very well situated. I didn't like the breakfast it was very weak .

This trip was the second year my friends and I have visited Hostal Alcina, both times we have been the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming their hospitality is unmatched with anywhere else. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from 3 beaches and 15 minutes from the port and is along a strip of restaurants and shops. The facilities are up to standard along with it being a hotel there is a bar and restaurant attached and a pool across from it. Me and my friends can’t wait to go back for year 3.

We have visited Hostal Alcina in June twice now and the staff are always so incredibly welcoming. It’s central, it’s 2 seconds away from the beach, it’s perfect. Those unhappy with it have to realise that you get what you paid for. Though some of the rooms are a bit dated, it’s still lovely to stay in. To us, the staff, especially the hotel and restaurant manager made the trip for us. It is our perfect getaway and we have such a blast whenever we go. Thank you!

When we saw the reviews, we were a bit worried about the quality of the room, but the experience turned out to be amazing! The staff were kind and welcoming, and they helped us a lot. We love the relaxed atmosphere here. If we get the chance, we’d love to visit again.

genuinely the most wonderful staff i’ve ever met. great location with plenty of beaches near by and a lovely pool! the rooms are also really good and all rooms have their own balcony to relax on at any time as well as fans included. my friends and i have been here 2 years running and will be back!!!

We went 3 girls and totally satisfied what we paid. Room was clean and sufficient. We had a lovely balcony and the air conditioning was powerful. Only missing thing was soap/shampoo, since we had it with us, didn’t ask for it. Also the light is closing quickly in bathroom if you dont move for a while. Staff was helpful, bar of the hotel was fine for a drink. Location is perfect and we could park our car easily in the next street. If you are looking for a place to sleep, it is more than enough. We stayed here for 2 nights in a room with air con and a balcony overlooking the street. The room was clean when we arrived and on the second day we were offered a room clean and fresh towels but we declined, because there wasn't anything to clean. The TV remote didn't work, I think the batteries may have ran out, so we used the buttons on the tv screen itself, but we only watched the tv for 1 hour when we arrived.
The shower was large and the water pressure was fantastic but unfortunately the soap dispenser was empty. We did take our own shower products so this didn't affect us much. There was enough toilet roll provided, and there was also a shelf near the reception with more available as well as more clean towels for whenever you needed.
The beds were comfy and there was 2 extra blankets available in the wardrobes which we actually used as an additional pillow each because the ones on the bed were too flat for us. However, everything seemed fairly new and fresh.
In terms of noise, we heard doors of other rooms being opened/closed but we didn't hear other people talking from the other rooms which usually seems to be the case when staying in hotels.
The receptionist was friendly and helpful on our arrival and on our departure. We never needed anything so didn't have an issue that the reception wasn't always manned. On our last day we were able to leave our bags at the hotel free of charge which is always helpful when you want to spend your last hours in the town, luggage free.
We can't comment on the pool as we did not even go to view it. We didn't have breakfast here neither.
We also didn't eat at the restaurant. But we had a coffee there on our last day and noticed that most the tables were still dirty, even if plates had been taken away, there was still remnants of food/liquid marks. In the 1 hour we were there, none of the staff cleaned any of these tables. But the service was quick and polite.
Location was great. On a main street with lots of bars/restaurants. Less than 5 minutes from Eroski supermarket. 5 minutes from the bus stop and 15 minutes walk to the beach.
From this experience, we would return to stay here again as we think it is good value for money.
