Just now, a male waiter from hotel’s restaurant
screamed vile insults at us just because my dog stepped on a patch of grass near the beach. I didn't see any sign saying it's private or that dogs aren't allowed.
And even if there were, nothing justifies that behavior. When I called the hotel, a woman at reception hung up on me right after I told her about the incident. We came to this town to rest, but instead we're shaken, stressed, and felt unsafe.
Since the hotel doesn't take this seriously, LGBTQ+ people should avoid staying here if planning a trip to Costa Brava

This hotel allows blatant homophobia from its staff.

I was walking a dog in front of the restaurant part of Hotel Roses Platja when the dog started sniffing around the grass, where I didn’t see any sign saying dogs were not allowed.

At that moment, an employee (a man) came out of the restaurant terrace and started shouting homophobic slurs at us.

We then called the hotel to report this incident, but instead of taking the complaint seriously, the person who answered the phone hung up on us.

This kind of unprofessional and discriminatory behavior is unacceptable. Travelers, especially LGBTQIA+ visitors, should avoid this place at all costs. Disgusting behaviour.

I recently stayed at Hotel Roses Platja and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Upon arrival, I asked for the price of a 2-night stay and was told it would be €530. However, online prices clearly showed around €180 for the same dates. When I pointed this out and booked online instead, Fatima at the reception suddenly stopped mentioning the higher price she had given me. She claimed she knew nothing about the online prices, which was frustrating and unprofessional.

Additionally, due to a booking error, only one guest was listed instead of two. There was no price difference online, but the hotel still charged us an extra €44 at the reception for the second person. It felt like they were trying every possible way to get more money out of us.

The room itself was not worth the money. It didn’t smell fresh and was quite basic. The only positive thing about this hotel is the location – very central and close to the beach. But overall, I would not recommend staying here, especially considering how they treat their guests and handle pricing.

Bij aankomst vroeg ik naar de prijs voor een verblijf van twee nachten en kreeg te horen dat die € 530 zou zijn. Online stonden de prijzen echter duidelijk rond de € 180 voor dezelfde data. Toen ik dit aangaf en in plaats daarvan online boekte, stopte Fatima bij de receptie plotseling met het noemen van de hogere prijs die ze me had gegeven. Ze beweerde dat ze niets wist van de online prijzen, wat frustrerend en onprofessioneel was.

Bovendien stond er door een boekingsfout maar één gast vermeld in plaats van twee. Er was online geen prijsverschil, maar het hotel rekende ons bij de receptie toch € 44 extra voor de tweede persoon. Het voelde alsof ze op alle mogelijke manieren probeerden om ons meer geld afhandig te maken.

De kamer zelf was het geld niet waard. Hij rook niet fris en was vrij basic. Het enige positieve aan dit hotel is de locatie: zeer centraal en dicht bij het strand. Maar over het algemeen zou ik niet aanraden hier te verblijven, vooral gezien hoe ze hun gasten behandelen en met hun prijzen omgaan.

The beds were old and mattress hard and very uncomfortable (room 424). Only one electric plug socket. Kettle connection faulty. Fridge but no milk to make tea or coffee. No coffee, 1 teabag between 2,! 2 sugars. Air conditioning noisy, unable to open window due to sewage smell. Storage space minimal; only a wardrobe with hanging space and shelves. 1 chair, 1 bedside table. The bathroom no toiletries, but the room and bathroom was spotless. Nice white towels each day. The breakfast were excellent but dinner only fair. All areas spotless. Staff very courteous and friendly.
