Xon's Platja HA in Empuriabrava

!DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE A FAMILY AND BRITISH! I booked on to this hotel to go on a fun , family holiday with children and had a very bad experience. The staff were very rude and did not welcome us. The pool was shut (which we was never told prior to booking) , the outside area for children was old, damaged and dangerous. There was no sun beds or outdoor seating anywhere at the hotel. The rooms were very old, outdated and smelled of bad drainage. There was wires hanging from the ceiling and plug sockets coming out of the wall.They also advertised the rooms as apartments with a Kitchenette but they have no amenities such as a kettle or microwave which is a struggle with a baby. The staff made it clear they did not like us and went as far as accusing the children as being thieves and snatching forks / plates out of their hands as they wanted the other guests to have priority over the food. They also did not allow drinks under the ‘ all inclusive ‘ package and tried to charge for drinking water. The hotel made no effort to help compensate for the bad experience and point blank refused to take any responsibility. It wasn’t until the end of the trip we was told by our holiday provider the pool opposite, which you have to cross main roads from the hotel to get and has no facilities is available to use but we was never made aware of this by the hotel itself. If you are looking for a child friendly, welcoming hotel do not stay here.

🤢 🤮 DESPICABLE. DISGUSTING, SMELLY AND DISRESPECTFUL.

The receptionist couldn't find my reservation. Told me this is my problem and cannot do anything for us. We waited for 45 mins and she kept refusing. Asked me to make a new reservation and pay a second time. Refused me a glass of water, told me to buy it at the bar. Was very aggressive, red in the face and rude, and then had the indecency to call security and tell them to throw me out of the hotel. The security was very nice as they saw the situation when I politely and calmly explained it to them. I asked for the receptionist name or the manager several times but she refused to identify herself. Then a man came who also refused to identify himself and spoke loudly from 1 cm holding a finger to my face, with two guards standing behind him. I walked away and he started following me yelling, so my partner told him to not come so close to me. Then the guards stood between them defending the angry heavy man from us, instead of defending me from him. We left and had to search for an emergency room late at the evening. It was DISGRACEFUL the whole thing. They didn't even cancel my reservation as I asked, because again they said this is my problem and I should deal with it.

We left and I was so stressed I didn't sleep the whole night till the morning.

What an awful experience that could have been easily avoided by treating the customers respectfully. This is clearly not Xon's hotel's priority.

The place is huge, smells of fish, lacks any place to sit while we waited for 45 mins, walls and decorations are super old, and the staff is just appalling. It was the worst receptionist I have ever encountered.
