Hotel El Varadero in Zahara de los Atunes

We spent 3 days in this hotel, in one of the garden bungalows.
Positive points: the localization, directly on the beach, is ideal. Nice sunsets without even having to go outside. The breakfast, served inside in a nice restaurant area was good. Small portions but you can order as much as you want if you took the package with breakfast included. If you haven’t, forget it as the prices are prohibitive: 7,50€ for an orange juice…
The garden was also very nice and luxurious, looking a bit like Bali!
Points to improve: the quality of the accommodation. The place is not run with care for the clients or attention to details. Our room had 2 sinks, both clogged, the toilet was constantly flowing water, the light is too bright and too white and we only had 1 bed side lamp. There was a Nespresso machine in the room but no socket to plug it, we had to put it on the floor to plug it in, the next day we didn’t get capsules resupplied, there was a mini-fridge, working, but the inside was not cold. When we arrived the room didn’t have enough soap and towels only for one. There was also a robe hung that looked it had been used already (another one was folded on the shelf).
The room has a very large window but completely see-through and the only way to get a bit of intimacy was to lower the curtain, which puts you in the dark, unless you switch on the bright light, very nice during the day!!!. It is also an area with parties. The first night the music was too loud to sleep. We had to put earplugs.
Also the Wi-Fi is from an external provider, the “use once get spammer forever” type that we couldn’t even use as lacking the elementary safety certificates.
In summary if you are an Instagramer, a YouTuber and want a lot of content of yourself in a good looking place, this is your hotel.
If you are rather interested in a good value for money, which may even include paying more for extra features or location, there may be other options nearby. We willingly paid 240€ per night knowing it was a 2 stars place and don’t think it was worth it. We went in 7 hotels during our trip (3 or 4 stars). It was the most expensive and the most deceptive of all.

Perfectly situated boutique hotel, right next to the beach. Staff lovely. Breakfast and restaurant amenities were great.
