Hotel Diamar in Arrecife

Was put up in this hotel for the night after my flight was cancelled. The hotel was in an ok enough area facing the beach and in the centre. The hotel itself, however, is not anywhere I would want to be again. The room was down a dark hallway where a singular light worked, there were cockroaches in the bathroom and the food was terrible. The phone had no connection and the tv had no signal on any English channels. Wouldn’t recommend much to the opposition of a lot of the other reviews here.

Gaseification room! Try at your own risk.

Our room was like a jail, no real window. The view from the window is direct on the corridor. We couldn't breathe in this room. The air was fully of chemicals used from cleaning. It is not possible to aerate the room with fresh air.

Of course, it was not possible to change the room.

No any complimentary water in room. Only chemicals gaseification.

There are others things in this room, which make your life a nightmare:

- the light switch is in the center on the bed, at 20 cm over. A lot of times, I woke up in the middle of night, because my hand hit the switch and turned on the lamp, and the light was directly on my face or head. Nearby the light switch is the plug in, which can not be used over the night.

- my bed was terribly bad: worst mattress, nearby of the floor, and my knees had a lot of hits, because of the massive concrete pillar nearby

-from bathtub, you walk directly in the toilet bowl.

We don't have any information before to arrive in this hotel regarding the position and the conditions of the room.

This review was finished after my long experiences in 6 islands and nothing can be compared with this hotel: overestimated, overpriced, worst conditions.
