Actually 3.5- 4. We were in apt 21. The good bits: Good location. The apartments are actually big and well equipped. The photos don’t do them justice. Bed comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful and the place was clean. Pool area lovely. Pool was chilly but fine once in 😊 Late 12pm checkout. Great for people with accessibility needs. Interesting art everywhere. WiFi good. Free parking for hire car. The not so good bits: In our room we were plagued by the jangling coming from lots of tall upright metal poles above us blowing in the wind. Disturbed sleep because of this. Breakfast was very basic and probably the worst offering I’ve experienced. Just don’t bother with breakfast. No smart TV and only German channels. Take a laptop/ iPad so you can watch streaming services. Pillows were hard. Would I stay again? Probably. But I would request a room on the right away from the maddening jangling. And avoid breakfast!

Just enjoyed a fabulous 10 days at this beautiful hotel. Very clean, very comfortable and - with art everywhere you look - totally unique. In a lovely location, a few minutes walk from the beach, restaurants etc. this hotel has fantastic accessibility throughout and staff were always friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

Nautilus is a clean well looked after complex and great for anyone who loves artwork, it is also perfect for anyone with mobility issues. All the staff were very helpful and friendly but we would like to thank our lovely maid/ cleaner Raquel for helping us when we soaked with the storm and keeping our apartment so clean, we would also like to thank the lovely young man on reception for showing us the beautiful art.

Stayed 10 days in very good 1 bed apartment . Decent firm beds, nice sheets, accessible bathroom with grab rails ..perfect. No drawers in apartment for clothes , just a wardrobe with shelves but that was fine as I can reach up , may be a problem if you are in wheelchair ? Maybe they have a different set up in other apartments. Excellent private patio area with 2 sunbeds and matresses. Some apartments more open patio areas , some had steps up, but still excellent . Ramps to most apartments so ideal for wheelchair or scooter or anyone with mobility issues. Kitchen area had oven, hob , fridge/freezer ..very good . You have to pay extra per day for any heating or air con..rent the remote control. Cleaning staff were lovely but forgot occasionally to replace towels they had taken. Reception staff were curt and abrupt and a horrible experience upon leaving . Which resulted in us being both upset and angry with reception service or should I say lack of it ! I went in the pool once , however it was chilly. Weather was cold though too ..so didn’t help . We really liked the apartments , location was easy walk / scooter ride to fabulous promenade along ramps and path. Pity reception team were not particularly friendly as we would like to stay again but may think twice . You pay a lot of money to come on holiday and you are their guests ! You should not be made to feel an inconvenience .

We are well travelled and stayed in lots of 5 star hotels along with 2/3 star apts. So an informed fair review we feel .. We are sat waiting to leave after 10 lovely days in a one bed apt . The apartments are what we expected , comfy firm beds, nice sheets . Great patio area and sunbeds with mattresses ! Cleaning team are efficient and friendly , however on 2 occasions they did not leave clean towels . ( they are not changed every day which is fine ) they just forgot to replace them . Kitchen area is fine and served its purpose . Bathroom good as grab rails for my husband safety . It was cold for a few days when we arrived so be prepared you have to pay for any heating or cooling as you rent the remote control . Think around 8 50 euros a day ? Check out is 12 which is good. Scooter access to room was superb . Ramps all over Would we come back ? We did say yes …however upon checking out we had to wait for a while for our airport pick up . There is one table and one chair outside in shade ( in fact at all ) I asked reception if I could take a chair from inside to sit in fresh air instead of reception area . They said no ! Said they would get one . I went back after 15 mins as none turned up .. he said he’d asked . After another 10 mins I asked again , no show , so I hunted round and got one from outside myself .. I actually felt really annoyed that they couldn’t be bothered to come tell me no chairs available to sit and wait around pool area . Well 1 ! That’s it . Unbelievable attitude and lack of caring for their guests . My husband said he felt like guests are an inconvenience ..( to reception staff ) I am very disappointed with the way the manager? (Whoever was sat in the office and couldn’t be bothered to come out when I went back twice to complain..) And point blank refused to allow us to get a chair . My husband is disabled , his scooter has gone back , we didn’t want to sit inside the dark reception area . The 2 sofas they have are soft and low and he would struggle to get on and off . Pity that the attitude of the hotel staff made us feel like this as I would recommend the place . As long as you don’t expect any warm welcome or goodbye . We stayed last year at las gaviotas which was not as accessible , not the same standard ( not 4 star ) however the staff couldn’t be more accommodating . Got a ramp so we could get the scooter inside . Annoying end to a great holiday .

Stayed for the weekend in apartment 11 which was upgraded complimentary on arrival. The place is spotless. Very quirky decor at reception which gave the wow factor on arrival. Welcome at reception from the young lady was brilliant. Personal yet not invasive. Our apartment was outstanding! Loads of space. A well designed space with loads of room. The kitchen was well furnished and the bottle of water was a very welcome surprise. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was spotless. Plenty of extra pillows and covers made our stay even more comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Each room had a dedicated artist who provided the decor which was very interesting. Our room had its own terrace with beds and seats on it. We did not get to use it because of the weather but look forward too in the future. Fantastic weekend was had by both of us. We were due to arrive back in April but booked our flights for February too and look forward to coming back. Thank you for our fantastic stay

The Nautilus was very good. The whole complex is kept immaculately clean by hardworking staff. Because there is no pool bar or music it is very restful. The pool attendant even ensures that the loungers are clean and not damaged. Our apartment was excellent, clean and well appointed. Our only complaint and disappointment is that there was no sun at all on the patio due to bushes and tall trees in the garden (number 32) It is a very short walk into Matagorda centre. We would definitely stay again, with a better placed apartment.

I booked a hotel for 3 days, and the booking indicated I needed to change rooms on the third day. The front desk assured me it was resolved and wouldn't require a room change, saying it would be updated in the system. However, the housekeeping department completely missed the update and assumed I checked out the next day. They came for a deep cleaning and threw away my size 50 Nike slippers, folding toothbrush cup, and black socks!

When I contacted the front desk, they stalled and gave me the runaround: first, they claimed the housekeeper hadn't seen the items, then they argued they only kept "valuables" like bags and sunglasses, and insisted my slippers were broken, refusing any compensation. Even worse, I encountered cockroaches in the room for two consecutive days – the hygiene was appalling!

The communication between the front desk and housekeeping is completely disconnected; the management system is atrocious. They only care about shifting blame and not solving problems. Anyone who stays here will suffer the same fate. I sincerely advise everyone to avoid this hotel!

Overall I think the hotel is worth a visit but could be better with some adjustments. The terrace to our apartment was shared with our neighbour which was not a problem on this occasion as they were lovely and respected our privacy. The pool area was lovely but lacked a little atmosphere as there is nowhere to buy a drink or ice cream. The art work is nice to see but I don’t think it qualifies in making it a 4 star experience. The down stairs area in reception is a waste of space and could be used better. The biggest issue for me as others have mentioned was the cleanliness. On first inspection it appeared ok, however we started to notice how dirty the floor throughout the apartment was especially in the bathroom. As there was a mop and bucket in the apartment we decided to clean the floor ourselves and I was absolutely shocked at the colour of the water. This was on the first day of our stay so there is no way the floor had been cleaned fully prior to our stay. The bathroom is tired with a shower curtain which has seen better days. The shower itself had no pressure when on hot. The first time our towels were changed we were left with one towel for 2 people meaning we had to go to reception and ask for others. The beds were comfortable but the quality of the pillows and linen were poor. Sheets had yellow stains on them and other markings. I don’t think the hotel qualifies as a 4 star rating.

Great half term stay, with glorious sunshine. We booked a superior two bedroom apartment, which was 10 steps away from the pool - perfect for teenagers. Nautilus is a short walk from the beach, restaurants and spa. Eating out was really reasonable but we opted to cook some evenings in the well equipped kitchen. The only negative was the pool was not heated, so it was rather chilly.

Food was average and a little pricey for the portion sizes, service was also poor on a Monday night.
