Wild Culture Yala in Tissamaharama

Wow! This is just a little find! A modern boutique hotel with a stunning pool overlooking farmland yet only 20 minutes away from Yala. The rooms are clean and huge! We were upgraded to one of the newer suites which was huge! Beautiful bathroom and comfortable bed. We only stayed a night and could have easily stayed longer. The dinner and breakfast were both excellent. We booked the Yala safari through the hotel and everything went as clockwork. A lovely touch was that the hotel supplied water and snacks for the safari, most unexpected but welcome. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel. Thank you!

Wonderful place, wonderful staff, everything is great! A lot of funny different animals around, including crocodile on a small river outside. We've seen him hunting, it was great!

We stayed at Wild Culture for one night as part of a 10-day tour of the south of Sri Lanka. The room was great: it was large and featured a big bath with a separate shower and toilet. We also had a balcony overlooking a paddy field, which was a very nice touch. For food, we had dinner and breakfast. Everything was à la carte, freshly made, and of good quality. We really enjoyed it, and they even made gluten-free bread separately. The service was very good and polite. The staff were incredibly proactive: they even prepared biscuits and water for us for our two safaris. They truly could not do enough for us. The location was perfect and quiet. It is a small hotel that is very conveniently situated just 15 minutes away from Yala National Park. Everything was absolutely perfect.

A shame we were only here for two days. Great place to stay for safaris. Clean, comfortable, friendly and very spacious. The service was great. Special mention to Apool ( hopefully correct spelling) who was very keen to please. Food was excellent.

Rural location down a bumpy track but close to Yala for the safari. Enormous rooms overlooking the surrounding paddy fields, and very quiet. The food was lovely and the staff were super accommodating and helpful. Great small hotel.

Really enjoyed our 2 nights here. Not much in the surrounding area, we were only there for the safari. Hotel is secluded down an unmade road overlooking rice paddies. Delightfully private and quiet, only about 8 rooms, great pool area and the food in the restaurant was delicious and well priced. Staff were very happy, friendly and attentive. A great hotel for R&R before and after safari.

On arrival we were swiftly taken to our suite after a welcome drink. The room did not disappoint! Lovely big bed with nice bathroom and a great terrace overlooking the paddy fields and pool. The Aircon was reasonably good but loud but kept the room a comfortable temperature. The pool area was beautiful with a huge pool, easy steps and plenty of sunbeds/loungers. The bar area looked great and menu read well. The food was good throughout with a decent choice of srilankan dishes and Western , they were very flexible about breakfast. Even delaying my breakfast til after my safari one day. I organised a safari via the hotel to Yala block 5 , and I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent knowledge of the driver/guide. We also had a private jeep, which was fantastic! I also did a trip to Bundala which I also enjoyed. The staff were helpful and friendly and tried really hard but we're often not around when needed. Unfortunately you often had to walk to reception to find someone. Once located they were incredibly helpful The most helpful and lovely waiter was Abul. He really made our stay very special. I would really recommend this place.

We enjoyed an amazing night stay at wild culture yellow. The hotel is boutique with a small number of rooms. The rooms itself were well equipped and comfortable and had a lovely view while sitting outside of the Terrace. There is a nice swimming pool and the service from the staff was excellent. The food was great and I would highly recommend this hotel whilst staying in Yala.

Just got back from this boutique hotel with only 8 rooms, and the experience was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend it!
