The accommodation is. SEVERELY overpriced. I could have stayed in luxury compared to this "hotel".
2 nights spent, housekeeping didn't come once.
No towels changed.
I had to ask for a bottle of clean water to be replaced so I could brush my teeth.
Staff just sit around doing literally NOTHING.
Pool is a chemical pool so eyes hurt from chlorine. No water pumps so it's effectively stagnant water with chlorine, from what I can see. My eyes hurt the one time I swam in "pool".
I asked for a "sup" of milk for tea I brought with me, they said no but I could "buy" a glass of milk. When they noticed how irate I was they arrived in my room with milk .for free.
It's a fair bit out of weligama so location is not good.
I feel bad writing such a negative review, but it might encourage the owners to do a reality check on their prices and to train their staff on proper service and housekeeping.
Safety deposit box is attached to nothing in wardrobe. Just pick it up and walk away.
The pathway to beach is completely un-maintained
I regret staying in the Outpost hotel when there are so many other really nice places more central and on the beach or with real luxury/comfort amenities.

During the short school holiday over the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, we had the chance to visit our family favourite, Weligama, to enjoy the sun and the sea. We walked into Outpost Weligama for a quick lunch. It’s a great spot, especially for surfers, but also a calm and relaxing place where you can just sit back or even get some work done quietly. The kids enjoyed their snacks, and the staff were very attentive to our requests. The location is right on the surfing point of Weligama Bay, which adds to the whole experience. Overall, a good place with reasonable prices. Happy to recommend.

At the beginning we were very happy with the hotel. But after a while we noticed money missing from our bags. Some food was stolen from the fridge and the stuff in our suitcases were displaced. We counted our money again to be sure, and later that day even more was missing. When we consulted the staff, we were first met with understanding. But later, we were told that they could not give us the stolen money because they could not be sure who stole it. The reseptionist, who was very unprofessional and rude, did not want to help us at all. If you go here, use the safe and count your money every day.

Great clean room, very spacious, lovely view of the beach.

The hotel is cool. There's a pool. I wouldn't recommend the standard room. There's a bathtub. But the ventilation in the room is poor.

Outpost is really good choice for Weligama trip during the season. Next to the quiet part of thr beach, tasty (but not cheap) cafe, comfortable rooms and very helpfull staff, strong wifi.
But for offseason could be a bit offsided. No cafe around, nothing on the beach, need to walk to any store or activity.
Several points to make your stay more comfortable:
1. Roomservice upon request
2. In beachfront rooms the beds are not fixed to tables behind them (as you see on foto). So be carefull, it moves =)
3. Ask about foot shower location in front of the hotel. It's a bit hidden.
But for offseason could be a bit offsided. No cafe around, nothing on the beach, need to walk to any store or activity.

Just beside a very cool beach. Budget Hotel. Have basic facilities. A neat and clean pool. Except drinking water, soaps and shampoo nothing is complementary in the room. It's a budget option and little overpriced for pool facing rooms with minimum facilities.

Fabulous location and lovely facilities. The staff are super friendly and very attentive. Great food and drinks at the restaurant/bar beside the pool. Overall, it is very good value for money. My wife and i will definitely visit again.

This was a clean and well kept property. We enjoyed our view of the mountains especially for sunrise. We especially enjoyed the good AC and extra large bed! The internet worked well for a little bit but then got very slow during a work call and eventually had to use my hotspot. But other than that it was a prefect stay.
