Mac's Bay Resort in Baan Tai

This was hands down the best resort of my entire Thailand trip.

I stayed here alone for two incredibly relaxing weeks in December, and it left such a strong impression that I came back again in January, this time with my girlfriend, for another two weeks. That alone probably says everything.

The beachfront bungalows are simply fantastic. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves, opening your door to a direct sea view every single morning, it is exactly what you imagine when you think of a perfect island escape. Honestly, I cannot understand the negative reviews about the sea view bungalows. Ours was peaceful, beautiful, and exactly as promised.

What really makes this place special is the atmosphere. The staff are genuinely friendly, attentive, and clearly want you to have a great time, not in a forced way, but in a natural, warm, human way. You feel welcome from day one.

In terms of value for money, I have not found anything that comes close. A beachfront location, relaxed vibe, great service, and a place where you can truly switch off without paying luxury resort prices.

If you are looking for somewhere to slow down, reconnect, and enjoy the ocean as part of your daily rhythm, this place is hard to beat. I would come back again without hesitation.

Amazing location, on the quiet beach, very clean and cozy bungalows, bier the owner is such q nice guy that helps with everything, very recommended, we slept on the bungalows on the beach and it was so amazing!

The top rated place for a solid price! I used to stay here 17 years ago when it was less posh ... and it was a memorable moment of my life. Now, the place is changed for more comfortable... but about the atmosphere, I don't know for sure 🤔. The beach and sunglasses are the top ones on the island, for sure!

Had a great stay here! The hotel is right on the beach with a pool and a restaurant. It’s quiet and the crowds are not the party kind like others in town. Staff is friendly and it’s convenient to be able to grab food from the restaurant. The resort is also a short walk to 711 and a ton of other restaurants. I found it to be more affordable and chill than the north part of the island. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff are friendly and nice to relax. A party with your favorite genre music is also requested for a good time too. clean and comfortable. Sunset really good

Friendly staff, great accommodations, a pool and a beach! It's a great place to land when you're fresh off the boat. Check-in time is 14:00!
