Baan Krating Khao Lak Resort in Khao Lak

Really nice hotel with amazing views of Khao Lak, probably the best view in the area, with a private beach and access to the public beach with a 2min walk. Nice room with quality equipment. Breakfast might be a bit expensive for the quality.

I came to Baan Krating to learn more about a day pass for the pool, as well as have breakfast. Raiwin helped me for both and I found she was the nicest and most helpful person I have experienced in all of my Thailand journeys. She is a masterclass in hospitality and just really made me smile. I highly recommend this hotel as I know with her leadership your experience will be perfection. Thank you Raiwin.

Very nice resort. Room had a little bit of a funky smell and you couldn’t see the water as shown in the picture it was all blocked by trees but it had a very fun jungle feel. Location wasn’t really walking distance too much but taxi services were easy to find.

this is an absolutely fantastic place! the view actually took my breath away immediately on arrival! the rest did not disappont either! 20 out 5 all in all!
the place is a collection of small bungalows scattered on a slope between the trees. so there is a low of space between people even if fully booked. quite private yet social enough. the view is fantastic in any weather and you can enjoy it right from your bed. the place is very green with coconut palms and banana trees, crawling with life (which does not bother you if you don't count small gekkos sneaking into your room once in a while). there are also cats in the area wandering along the pathways and sleeping on the balconies generating cosiness. if you see a small grey cat - be nice to her, she's a very delicate and sweet creature.

We had a wonderful stay! The place is absolutely beautiful - you’re surrounded by nature and greenery, it’s just stunning. Even though the weather wasn’t great, we still had an amazing time. The staff were all very welcoming and always smiling, which made the atmosphere even more pleasant. Highly recommended!

I stayed two nights in this hotel, and the only negative note is that we requested the breakfast box for both mornings, but for the last day we no longer needed it I asked to be able to do it at the buffet but I was told that it was not possible.
For everything else, this hotel is splendid; the staff is exceptionally kind and helpful. It is surrounded by greenery and nature. The rooms are comfortable, a little dated but characteristic. The view is breathtaking! The pool was freezing, so I was not able to use it. The food at the restaurant is good but not excellent. It is ok for have a quick dinner without going out (the centre is about 3km from there). I recommend it!

The hotel is a very nice place if you want a quiet and picturesque vacation. Located in the jungle, near a picturesque beach of Khao Lak. The territory is nice and clean, nicely maintained. Each room is in fact a small bungalow with a nice balcony. My friend and I we stayed at a AC room, closer to the shore area.
Enjoyed my stay there 100%. A few things that might help you, if you’d like to stay there:
- stairs. There’s no elevator and to get to the room and road you have to go up and down the stairs, approx like 3-4 floors.
- pool. Ther pool is rather small, but definitely recommend the beach nearby. The pool is cleaned every day, and has chlorine in it. The hotel itself doesn’t have it’s own beach, the one you see is rocky and you can’t swim there. To get to the beach you go through the territory of a nearby hotel. The walk to the beach is open from 7am to 7pm.
- rooms are cleaned every day, it’s a huge plus and also towels are changed every day. Rooms have AC and a ceiling fan, as well as WiFi and TV with Netflix and YouTube on it (login into your account).
- awesome staff! People there are super friendly and helpful!
- the nearest restaurants are approx 1 km walk. The walk is by the roadside, but it’s pretty safe to walk even at night, lots of lights and it’s separated from the road itself. Getting a tuktuk or grab taxi to the “city center” (near McDonald’s) is approx 150-200 baht. You should check out P’Ann, Qcumber, Delicasy if you’re there. Also next door to the hotel is an awesome coffee place - Valhalla. The view from it is stunning.

The hotel is located in the jungle so some small animals are there as well, but nothing scary or poisonous. At night you can hear some hiccup-like sounds - is geckos :) but a bug repellent is recommended. Going to sleep while hearing the waves rushing to the shore is perfect.
We met 3 cute cats in the premises, hope they’ll stay there.

There’s no party zone or dance floor and even music whatsoever if it’s what you looking for in a place of stay. Baan Krating is for you in you want to enjoy nature and you’re prepared for medium long walks.

Beautiful and comfortable rooms, right next to the beach. Friendly staff and nice restaurant. Would definitely recommend!

The room by the sea is quite beautiful. The view is good, the air is good, the accommodation is convenient, and it is very shady.
