Reviews
Karl’s place is perfect for a boutique stay if you are looking for peace, privacy, and nature.
Every bungalow was built with great care. Karl put a lot of thought into every detail. The materials are high quality, the Wi-Fi is very stable, and the outdoor shower is fantastic. There is a real wardrobe, power outlets in all the right places, perfect lighting, a large fridge, and a kitchen fully equipped for cooking.
The Location:
It is very peaceful. About a 10-minute drive to the main market and only 2 minutes from a beautiful beach near the JW Marriott.
The Experience:
Karl and his staff are simply perfect. He has over 20 years of experience and built the whole place himself. We stayed for 6 nights and loved it so much that we extended our stay for 2 more nights!
The breakfast is also lovely. Highly recommended for couples and families who love nature and quiet. Simply great!
As part of a tourist excursion that we had joined, the local driver of our small charter minivan pulled onto the property (via an open gate) to collect some guests who were staying there. Within seconds, the Bungalows’ owner had stormed over, squared up to him, snatched his phone from his hand, and began yelling in his face - calling him “Stupid” for entering private property. (The driver was only following instructions, trying to provide a service to this man’s guest.) He punched the bonnet of the van, leaned through the window and turned off the ignition whilst all of us were inside, and refused to stop shouting in spite of our driver repeatedly stepping away and apologising for his honest mistake. It’s worth noting how the property owner was happy to speak politely with the European tourists inside the van, seeming only to hold contempt for the worker simply trying to do his job to the best of his ability at 7am. Apparently, this is not the first time this has happened. If you have the choice, please consider boycotting accommodation managed by expats who show no gratitude or respect towards locals, when there is ample opportunity to stay instead in glorious places owned by Thai people.
It’s located far away from civilisation next to a lake with an entire orchard of trees planted inside. This means that you get blissful peace but also that you need a bike to get around.
Karl is the owner/host and treats you almost like family. I was very well taken care of when I lived there.
Above all, it’s beautifully serene and a 5 min bike ride away from the beach. I’d highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet stay far away from the hustle bustle
The hosts are very nice and Karl gave us very good advices, we had good discussions with him. The place is quiet and beautiful (plants everywhere) ! Thanks for the scooter rental and its adorable price. I loved watching the squirrels playing in the palm trees near our bungalow (and your two adorable dogs ahah)
I hope to have the opportunity to come back here! Thank you for the good time
+ Extremely clean
+ Healthy and tasty food in the restaurant
+ Quiet and awesome place to just chill
The best were the evenings spent in the restaurant. Karl (the host) has the great quality to connect everybody, so you quickly got introduced to all guests. I was very sad when I left the place.. Recommend it 100%!
5 min later, when we wanted to get the luggage, the woman arrived and said of no, now the room is 650 Baht. The 550 Baht room is not this room, it's somewhere else.
Sorry guys but this is not how you should act to your guests. Totally a no go.
