Krathom Khaolak Resort in Khao Lak

We stayed here for 15 nights and upgraded to a villa as they are more spacious than the bungalow. They are comfortable and cleaned every day and clean bath and hand towel every day. Bottled water also supplied. There is a fridge and safe. The bed was very comfortable but did keep the aircon and fan on all night as it was very hot weather. The resort is set back in gardens which are now having a tidy up and there is a very nice swimming pool which usually we had to ourselves. There are only 4 sun beds and shades but as we were the only ones at the pool was not a problem. The resort is very quiet but just walk up the path and you are in the heart of the village with many nice shops and restaurants. Can highly recommend The Orchid nearly opposite good food and lovely staff. People have said 10 mins to the beach but only if you walk quickly. It took us about 20 mins but it was very hot and no rush to get there. Beach is lovely but sometimes the waves can be quite rough. I must admit the rooms do need a revamp as they are looking a little tired but saying that I would stay again. Breakfast was good freshly prepared and a good choice. And a proper cup of tea. Family run and very pleasant staff.

The good point is the breakfast. Otherwise it is not so comfortable to sleep with tough pillow and curtains very thin (so very bright early in the morning). Wifi is quite poor and the shower had a very low flow. All in all the resort is correct because cheap.
