Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa in Mai Khao

For our last night in Phuket, we chose a hotel close to the airport. The room was really spacious and clean! The large sofa could even fit one person comfortably. There wasn't anyone at the front desk who spoke Chinese, and most of the hotel guests were foreigners; we rarely saw Chinese or even other Asian guests. Maybe it was January and Chinese New Year hadn't started yet, haha! The hotel's overall environment was decent, and you could even catch the sunset at Mai Khao Beach!

My family and I had an enjoyable time. We stayed in the hotel. It’s clean and the room is spacious. The only thing is that you have to request for basic amenities like toothbrush or shaver etc. unless the cleaner of the day forgot to restock. Service is above and beyond. Love the buffet breakfast. Having Starbucks in the hotel is a plus. The gym is fully equipped and had a good workout too.

This was my second stay at this Renaissance. The first time, the villa area was under renovation, and this time, the pool was being renovated, so we had to use the pool at the neighboring hotel. We only got to experience the hotel's new pool on our last day. However, they did give us a few drink vouchers as compensation.

Since I returned for a second visit, it's clear I was very satisfied with everything, from the service to the facilities. The Thai restaurant, in particular, was excellent – so good that we went every day and got to know the staff.

Another plus is its proximity to the airport. Also, every time I've been, it feels uncrowded, which really adds to the resort vibe.

The downside is its somewhat remote location, making it inconvenient to go anywhere else; it's really only suitable for those who prefer to stay put at the hotel. Additionally, the beach quality is just average – fine for looking at, but that's about it.

Overall, though, it's still a recommended hotel; it's small but beautiful.

The hotel beach offers incredibly beautiful sunsets, and it's much cleaner than Patong Beach. There's a dedicated pool for lounging (swimming is difficult because it's often crowded).

The Thai restaurant at the hotel is Michelin-level, and the service is very warm and welcoming.

The spa prices are a bit high, but the experience is very relaxing. The body slimming massage actually seemed to work a little.

Breakfast has a huge variety and everything is delicious.

The hotel provides a free tuk-tuk to a nearby small market with lovely handicraft shops and a 7-Eleven, which is great for browsing.

However, it's only suitable if you plan to stay and explore the northern area. Getting to other places by taxi is very far and inconvenient.

The hotel's cleanliness is excellent; there's absolutely nothing dirty.

From the moment I stepped into Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa, I was impressed by the warm welcome and professional hospitality. Check-in was smooth, and my room was ready right away. The staff took time to explain the resort’s facilities, which was very helpful.

The room was spotless and comfortable, with a fresh scent, spacious bathroom, quality amenities, and a very cozy bed. I also appreciated the reliable air-conditioning and convenient universal outlets with USB ports—great for travelers.

Breakfast was a highlight, offering an excellent mix of Thai and international dishes, with the egg skillet as a signature favorite. I also enjoyed dinner at Takieng, the resort’s Thai restaurant, which served authentic dishes made with fresh local ingredients.

Families will love the kids’ area with a playground and pool, but the resort also feels perfect for couples and solo travelers looking for relaxation. Although I didn’t get to try the spa this time, it looked very inviting.

Overall, a wonderful stay—I will definitely be back!

Our first time stay in Renaissance Phuket and we really enjoy. The hotel is beautiful and quiet, in Mai Khao area, not busy and very peaceful. Staff always smile and very friendly. Room just renovate, very big and clean, bed also so comfortable.
Breakfast very delicious, many choice and everyday different. We stay 3 nights and never repeat same food. My kid also love the Kid Club, staff there so nice and he want to go everyday.
Really good family holiday, we will come back again for sure.

I and my husband had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel is beautifully designed, lush with greenery, and offers a peaceful, private atmosphere. The location is very convenient—close to the airport with smooth traffic, making travel easy.

The food and drinks were excellent. The outlets serve tasty dishes, both Asian and European, with a great ambiance and stunning sea views. The breakfast buffet was another highlight, offering an amazing variety that kept every morning exciting. Having a Starbucks on-site is also a big plus—we didn’t even need to go out at all! But if you do want to explore, there are local restaurants and a small shopping community nearby. It felt safe, and the hotel even offers a shuttle service or even a bicycle, which made everything even easier.

The facilities are also impressive: a well-equipped gym, a pickleball court for some fun exercise, a relaxing spa service, and a kid’s club with its own swimming pool and etc.

Service was outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was polite, helpful, and attentive. Housekeeping deserves special mention—the room was kept spotless. I was personally impressed by the thoughtful touches, like how the bathroom amenities were arranged neatly, almost like a cosmetic counter.

Overall, this hotel offers comfort, convenience, and top-notch service. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing yet luxurious stay in Phuket. I am Thai and I haven't been to Phuket for more than 20 years but this trip makes me want to come back again. Love Love Love!!!

The cleanliness throughout the property is impeccable.
The pool is beautiful, overlooking the sea, with an excellent restaurant offering a wide selection of delicious dishes, the pool staff are attentive and caring, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Breakfast is excellent, with plenty of delicious options, and the poolside menu is both diverse and of high quality.
