The Sunset Beach Resort Koh Kho Khao in Ban Bang Muang

Very tranquil place - you need to use the pond if you want to enter the lively part. And definitely rent a scooter 🛵

The staff is very nice and considerate. They remember where we like to sit and always set the table for us in the morning. Room is also nice and clean. Food in the restaurant is good also. The resort is next to the beach. Beautiful scenery peaceful place, so nice to be to relaxing there. Love these five days We plan to go back again

Very polished and upmarket resort, initially intended to stay for 4 nights but decided to extend it to 6. We were there in a low season so very quiet, not sure we would have enjoyed it as much if the resort was full. The room was big, nice bathroom with great shower, comfortable bed, big terrace with nice sea views, chairs and sunbeds, all the mod cons (we had a cockroach on our first night but we dealt with it and no issues afterwards). The food was decent if a little bit pricier than other places around, large Chang at 180 THB did seem a little bit steep considering it wasn't even very cold. The beach was kept immaculately clean, there were plenty of sun beds and quite often we were alone on the beach. The grounds were very well maintained, a lot of greenery and flowers. What made this resort so great were the staff. From small things (even after six nights housekeeping surprised us with a different animal made out of towels), to the details where restaurant staff knew our drinks before even asking and extreme efficiency of the lady at check in who was so organised and accommodating that puts most of 5* hotels to shame.

Top top! This hotel is a ‘hidden’ pearl in all the tourist jungle. No Russians here! VERY good.
The beach is wide and flat, cleaned everyday.
Staff is awesome. Food in the restaurant is great.
Pool is small, but all good compared to the intimate mood here. Rooms have good space and are nice and clean.
It is so rare to find spots like this.

If it was possible, I would have given 6 stars. We have been here several times and will go back again. We normally start our Thailand visits here for a week to just settle down and relax. The hotel is calm and away from the tourist beat. They have the same staff (that is just fantastic) every year and that means they are treated with respect. The food is great and one thing I like is that the pool is close to the sea so you easily can use both. Very friendly for families. We normally meet guests that come back every year. Rent a scooter and explore the island. There is basically no traffic and you can find cool spots everywhere.
