Best Stay Hostel in Phuket Town

Pros: hostel is in a very good location in old town Phuket for walking around to night markets and some local attractions. 7 min walk to public bus station, and probably about 5 min walk from where the Patong bus drops you off if you’re coming from the other side of Phuket. Staff are friendly. Common area was nice, as well as an additional area where you can watch movies from a large library of DVDs.

Cons: rooms are crammed but considering the inexpensive nightly rate, you can get past this. However, the state of the bathrooms and cleanliness is what brings the star rating down the most. The showers are mostly a trickle with water coming out of various parts of the tube. The drains are clogged. Something in the toilet on the second floor was in there for at least three days without clean. You’re asked to take shoes off before going up to the rooms, which is completely understandable but then the floors in the “no shoe” areas should be cleaned to a certain standard.

If cleanliness can be raised, I would bump this up to a 4 rating.
