Reviews
Been in Turkey approx 20 times , 2nd time in Kusadasi, but unfortunately this visit was the most disappointing 😞 😕 😔 😑
Even though we read the reviews, we figured it couldn't be *that* bad.
So we booked through On the Beach, all-inclusive.
After booking i send 4 emails to the hotel without any response 🙃 😒
We booked Friday to Friday (7nights)
On Monday, I got an envelope saying we had a meeting with OTB reps on Saturday!🤣🤯
On arrival check-in was fine. The room was old, and the cleaning wasn't great.
The cleaners were in and out of the room until 2 pm, and it was a different person every time.
The food was alright, but there wasn't much to choose from, and you had to go early because they often ran out.
You in Turkey but basic things missing 😕
No simit, no pide, no butter, no ayran, no cereal, no fruit (only one kind every couple of days).
It's advertised as all-inclusive, but even when we asked for Turkish tea or coffee, we had to pay!
The bar and alcohol situation... where do I even begin?🤯🤯🤯
As for all-inclusive, all they offered was beer, gin, and vodka, but even those were flat and watered down.
There was no entertainment at all, just music playing by the pool during the day.
The hotel smelled like smoke, and nobody even bothered to explain what was going on.
The restroom in the lobby was unfortunately in a state that made it unusable, as it appeared to have not been cleaned for a week.🚽🚾🤢🤮😷
While some of the staff members were quite friendly, the majority seemed to be in a less cheerful mood, rarely smiling, and appearing unenthusiastic when assisting with requests.😞☹️
An amusing situation arose concerning the laundry bag provided in the room, which bore the hotel's logo. Despite preparing my laundry and inquiring with three different staff members, I was informed that laundry service was not available. When I inquired about the purpose of the bag, they seemed surprised. Two of them offered to find out and get back to me, but I never received a follow-up.
Additionally, I would advise against using the elevators, as they are incredibly slow, potentially consuming a significant portion of your holiday time.🛗🤣🤯
The hotel is more as running to the ground 1 star not 4 !!!!
AAAAAVVVVOOOOIIIIIIIDDDDD!!!
Our room was uncomfortable and poorly maintained. The bed frame was literally bits of wood and hardboard, with a botched repair job on one side. The bathroom was dirty and mouldy, and the balcony was unusable due to a strong sewage smell. Bottled water wasn’t replenished, even though other rooms had it, and we were advised not to drink tap water — so we had to buy our own daily.
Food was repetitive and disappointing. Lunch and dinner were almost identical every day, with little variety. As a pollo-pescatarian, I was especially let down by the lack of fresh fish or options. There was reused food between meals, and on more than one occasion, we saw mouldy fruit on desserts. A chocolate ganache cake actually tasted like an ashtray one evening – yet it remained out for the rest of service and no one addressed it despite our complaint.
The “all-inclusive” drinks offering was incredibly limited – a few cheap spirits, beer, and basic soft drinks that often ran out. No cocktails. No fresh juices. One sugar-free option (Coke Zero) that wasn’t always available. After 6pm, the garden bar closed, so anyone wanting a drink had to climb stairs to the main bar – not ideal if you have mobility issues. The only nearby toilet was down slippery stairs and in a disgusting condition with no lock on the door.
The gym (a key reason we booked this hotel) was never open and looked abandoned. The pool was OK, though loungers felt like they might collapse at any moment, and the umbrellas were ripped. The spa/turkish bath was just a slab in a room unless you paid €40 for a treatment.
Evening entertainment was sparse. Aside from a few nights during Eid, there was no real show – just a couple of staff trying to get guests to dance. Everything shut down by 11pm, leaving nowhere to sit, socialise, or even get a drink.
We expected a relaxing, all-inclusive break. What we got was a frustrating, underwhelming experience with poor service, broken promises, and the worst hotel hygiene I’ve seen in years. Would not recommend.
While English isn't widely spoken, the staff does their best to communicate and assist with a smile. A special shout-out to Halil and Enes from the animation team—they were always cheerful and full of energy, organizing engaging activities that made our stay unforgettable. Thanks to them, this vacation will remain one of our most cherished memories!
