Romance Beach Hotel in Marmaris

As soon as we walked in, we were hit with an overwhelming smell of mold and wood rot coming from the furniture. I have asthma and was immediately triggered I’ve been coughing for days after staying here. We booked for 3 nights and couldn’t wait for them to end, but given the price we paid, we didn’t want to lose our money by leaving early.

The service was just as disappointing. Our room was never cleaned during our entire stay. When I requested fresh towels, I was actually given dirty ones, and when I returned them to reception, there wasn’t even an apology. The staff showed no care or shame in the way they handled guests.

The pictures online are completely misleading. The hotel itself feels like something left over from the 1980s stale, outdated, and neglected. For the price we paid, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We also asked to change rooms as our one was unbearable to stay in and they told us there was no availability even though we mentioned my asthma was being triggered, later on in the day we saw them selling rooms to new guests.

To put things in perspective, we spent the same amount for 3 nights at another hotel just minutes away, and the difference was night and day clean, fresh, welcoming, and modern. This hotel simply cannot compare.

I do not recommend this place to anyone. Save your money and book elsewhere.

The 1 star was because I couldn’t give zero.

On arrival the hotel room stunk of fish and something rotting, dead flies and hairs in the bed . We requested via love holidays to change our room and they said they would call the hotel and we would be moved first thing in the morning - we were never moved and spent a week in a room which stunk. We ordered food and brought it back to the room and the cleaner took the food/ threw it away? We were told after this we would receive a full refund for the food and complimentary late check out as an apology however we had to argue to receive our money back and were laughed at by the receptionists and hotel manager and called liars.
We found a rotten egg in the fridge in our room, screws hanging out of the headboard holes in the wall, wall paper hanging off the walls - overall a disgusting room and disgusting customer service from the hotel staff
