Kemal's Guest House in Goereme

Our stay at Kemal’s was excellent. Room was clean, breakfast was good. A lovely tranquil courtyard joined all the rooms & they had a beautiful rooftop to overlook the town. Kemal & nephew, in particular, were very helpful providing advice & information. More to the point is their willingness to go out of their way. Example: we told we were catching an early bus to Sanliurfa, Kemal’s nephew insisted on preparing us boxed breakfasts for the road. We often found ourselves chatting with Kemal & nephew after a day touring about. Much of what we learned about Türkiye’s history, politics, culture was in those chats. Very friendly. We will definitely go back.

Mr. Kemal is very hospitable, he personally takes care of his customers. When you go out to the terrace early in the morning, you will see a fascinating and unforgettable view. The rooms are also very clean and good.

The place is indeed very nice and I can't thank Barabara enough for all the information she sent me via email. A warm and caring person! She also arranged for us to take the shuttle from Nevsehir airport. Our room was large and comfortable and the buffet breakfast more than adequate. Kemal basically runs the guesthouse and is available most of the time. He's somewhat moody and gruff and needs better social skills. When I asked him to call a taxi to for me, he refused and wanted me to walk to the city center in the heat and catch one there! When he eventually called a cab, it took him only a minute. However, he was helpful in general and provided any info. we needed. I was last in Goreme in 2005 and was shocked to see its transformation into a mega tourist marketplace! Everybody wants to grab your money! Don't fall for scams and overpriced group tours. Try to see beautiful Cappadocia on your own.

I give it five stars for our stay but you need to understand the hotel category. This is not flash or fancy accomodation. If you are looking for a safe, clean and comfortable Pension/B & B/ and locally run accomodation, then you will be happy, this is ideal. If you are looking for a chain hotel or something luxury, you are in the wrong price category and need to revise your budget. However for value this is unbeatable for the location. The owner Kemal is onsite for help at any time and we used Kemal to book our Hot Air Balloon ride. We got a better deal this way and it was a really excellent company. We were very happy with Kemal's help for tours and shutte to/from Kayseri airport (about an hour away). We had a lot of helpful emails with Barbara before our trip. Any questions were quickly answered and transport arranged for an easy transfer. The breakfast each morning served us for two meals - it was a very generous Turkish style breakfast with eggs, pastries, local dishes, salad, yoghurts and fruits. We looked forward to our delicious breakfast every morning. Our room was warm with radiator and there was an aircon/heater in the room. Bathroom was renovated and beds were clean and very comfortable. Cleaning of rooms was on request but always easy to arrange. We will stay again with Kemal on our next visit to Cappadocia.

We had a great experience during our stay at Kemal's guest house. Clean and comfortable rooms, beds, and bathroom. Breakfast was very generous and complete. Breakfast tables are located in a pretty fruit and flower garden. There is a lovely terrace to watch the sunrise from and the balloons flying. Kemal helped us get the tickets to fly in the balloons at a good price, and this was a highlight of our trip. Very good service. The guest house is centrally located within walking distance of the town center. Highly recommend it.

1. The front desk staff were very friendly and provided us with lots of information upon check-in. They continued to be helpful throughout our stay, assisting with airport shuttle bookings, transportation info, and discounted tour options.
2. The buffet breakfast was incredibly generous, with plenty of delicious options to choose from.
3. The triple room was spacious and very comfortable.

The accommodation was excellent with hospitality and warmth. It is located in a very quiet area, making it perfect for relaxation. The cost and services were very reasonable.

Nice hostel close to the city center. The best part is how helpful Kemal, the owner, was in organizing outings and suggesting restaurants. His suggestions were excellent and he booked them all for us, including an excellent balloon ride and a great tour (green tour), and shuttles to and from the airport. The location is great, there is a pleasant garden and the breakfast is very plentiful. Overall I would recommend to people looking for a less luxurious, but more authentic visit. Overall I would definitely recommend it!

This was a wonderful, affordable accommodation with a beautiful garden and lovely breakfast. Kemal took such care of us, helping us to arrange all the activities we wanted to do as soon as we arrived. His restaurant recommendations were excellent. He went above and beyond to help us have a perfect stay.
