Mai Otel Cunda in Ayvalik

First and foremost, I wholeheartedly salute all tourism sector employees, workers, and business owners who, with dedication and sincerity, represent our country at the forefront of the world stage for the development and progress of tourism in Türkiye.

We stayed at the Cunda SUİNN Hotel in Ayvalık district of Balıkesir province, a city both historically significant as a city of the National Forces and geographically rich in unique beauties, with our family friends on October 4-5, 2025. We found this facility through ETS Tur and during our stay, we pointed out its shortcomings and areas for improvement on Otelpuan and Google reviews platforms. We then learned that a person named Mustafa S., who introduced himself as the owner, subjected both our friend and me to mocking, abusive, threatening, and humiliating remarks that disregarded our personal rights. He first contacted our friend via Google reviews and then called me on October 8, 2025, from his personal phone. We also observed that the same attitude and behavior was displayed in writing towards guests who recently visited the facility and expressed their dissatisfaction or perceived shortcomings through reviews on the same platforms. However, our criticism and rating of the facility was based on the hope that the facility would identify and correct its own shortcomings through guest feedback, thus ensuring cleaner and more comfortable stays for our citizens or tourists who will visit after us. Of course, like every sector, the tourism sector will have its bad apples. It is unacceptable for a customer/guest to be subjected to such behavior when they experience any negativity or shortcomings in such tourism facilities and freely rate and comment on them in writing/visually on a legal platform.

I believe that for the development and advancement of Turkish tourism, facilities and businesses that are open to criticism, suggestions, and innovations, and that constantly strive to improve the service they offer their guests, will ensure that Turkish tourism remains at the forefront globally, as it is now. I send my love and respect to all tourism employees, workers, and tourism business owners who do their jobs with love and passion and approach their customers with the concept of hospitality, an example of ancient Anatolian culture, through this platform, and I would like to conclude my thoughts with the following words of Gazi M. Kemal ATATÜRK: "The one who loves his country the most is the one who does his job best."
