Gulec Konak Hotel in Istanbul

Very bad experience in this “hotel”. It wasn’t clean at all everything was old and needed renovation, door to our room was broken, shower leaked, mold everywhere, noisy from air conditioner, poor breakfast the worst in my life in hotels. The stuff was very nice and the place is in city center those are the only good things about this hotel.

I requested to front desk women for another hair dyer as the hair dyer in room it’s not functioning. I realised the ”hair dyer” is still there when I came back late to hotel.
I went down and request the second hair dyer again, however ,It’s not functioning as well. I requested at least give me the air con remote to dye my hair before sleep. He claimed that is cold weather and hotel would not provide air con remote .He claimed that wasn’t his or hotel problem, he claimed that he already gave 2 hair dyer to me no matter it’s not functioning .
I would not recomended this hotel.
I wouldn’t give any star for this hotel.

Highly disappointed. The room was falling apart, from the lamp ceiling, to pieces of the wall, curtains etc. The bed sheets and towels were very dirty. Decor is very old fashion (which in itself isn't the issue). Utterly shocked. Had to run away and find other accommodation. The guy who welcomed us was unfriendly. I am very sorry to say, this establishment isn't recommendable. Despite having checked in around 540pm and left the property half hour later, this establishment had no issue charging us full rate, which has left an extremely bad taste in our mouth.

The location was perfect- right next to great restaurants and all the tourist attractions. The staff was super nice and helpful. Everything else was terrible. It wasn't clean at all, there was rust and mold lining the whole shower and between the tiles on the floor, there was a gaping hole in the floor (from the second room they gave us, which was supposed to be better). The bed covers were tattered and dirty and they didn't change the sheets at all. The breakfast was okay the first few days but it seems as though they leave the left overs for a week before changing them because it started to get old.Also their breakfast tables and chairs were dirty. The toilet seat in our first room completely detached, in the other room the glass door from the shower was gone, and the towels had holes and tears in them. At one point, somehow our air conditioning remote was taken so we had to share with another room, the AC made a lot of noise, and it leaked. There was only one iron for the whole hotel so we had to wait for another room to finish with it before we could use it. Some rooms had hair dryers and others didn't. The phones in the rooms didn't work either. We paid $60 a night; in my opinion, NOT worth it.
