Galata Dream Hotel in Istanbul

We had to book Galata Hotel last minute after our original hotel was cancelled when we were at the airport. It turned out to be a really good option for the situation — the staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and genuinely caring. The breakfast was lovely, with plenty of food and really good Turkish coffee.

The room was small but clean and comfortable, exactly what you’d expect from a 2-star hotel. What really stood out to us was how helpful everyone was. When we mentioned that the smell of perfume in the room was a bit strong and the noise from the avenue made it hard for me to relax (I’m autistic and have ADHD, so I’m a bit sensitive to sound and smell), they immediately offered another room for the night and made every effort to make us comfortable - they even brought us some fruits to make me feel better.

In the end, we decided to move to another hotel because the noise and scent still made it hard for me to rest. The manager was very understanding and agreed to a partial refund without any issue.

Overall, Galata Hotel offers great value for money and truly exceptional service for its category. If you’re looking for a simple, friendly and well-located place with a really caring team, I’d definitely recommend it. :)

Stayed there for two days with my gf. Quite intimate and small rooms they have. However, the staff was amazing. They were kind and helpful a lot. Also location is pretty good. Galata Tower is so close to the hotel and you can go to the historical peninsula by walking easily.

The staff is the best, the room is beautiful, the breakfast is super delicious, thank you for everything! The location is the best!

My husband and I had some unplanned changes in our trip in Istanbul so we had to find a room fast. The host at the reception provided us with great service and quickly got us a room that we wanted. All the staff were very friendly, their breakfast was filling and delicious. Everyone was really nice. We loved our stay there and didn’t want to leave. My experience stay with Galata Dream in total has been excellent. On my first day to Galata Dream Hotel although I felt really exhausted from the rush hour trip from Kuala Lumpur to Doha then to this place Istanbul. What amazed me is that, the staffs from the reception in the hotel was friendly. Public Transportation such as like; UBER was so convenient from IST (New Istanbul International Airport). That cost around TLR400 an hour and 30 minutes from the Centre of town in Istanbul, Turkyie, Galata.

There is some pros and cons about this hotel that in particular of my 4 days experience about this Galata Dream Hotel. But, before I start saying about my experience about this hotel, here are the convivence I can say about the hotel itself. Public Transportation is nearby, Staffs from the hotel lobby is super friendly and a, 25 minutes walk to the Bophorous coast link between Asia to Europe bridge.

Talking about the advantages of Galata:
1. Public Transportation nearby like; Taxis, Buses and Trains (Metro)
2. Restaurants nearby like; Turkish, Thai and Japanese cuisines.
3. Metro stations are nearby via 5 minutes walking of the station of Sishane.
4. Want to go clubbing to listen a Turkish traditional way of playing Jazz, Nardis Jazz Club near by via 5-10 minutes walk expensive but okay.
5. Taksim Square of Istanbul, near by to Galata by transport 10 minutes walking 10-20 minutes.
6. Arts and Crafts of Istanbul tourism nearby.
7. Medication Aids such as; Pharmacy nearby.

Talking about the disadvantages of Galata:
1. Ripped off taxi fares
2. Dangerous too cross the main street to get into Sishane bus station.
3. No proper cross walks
4. Reckless drivers

Please note this:
If you are going to Istanbul or any other place please make sure you have a Istanbul tourism card with you it's just TLR70.00 and load how much balance you need in the card. It's very useful for public transports like; The Bosphorous boat tour, Bus, Public Toilet, Tourist attractions, Trams and Metro.

All hotel staff are very friendly. Especially the hotel owner. He always had a good answer to my questions and was very helpful. I will visit this hotel again and recommend it to my friends.
