We were in the 1st time in Istanbul we chose this hotel by its reviews. Actually we are very appreciative of this hotel’s staffs. They are very friendly and helped us. Also owner is so kind. Additionally breakfast is so delicious. If I travel to Istanbul again I will choose this hotel. Recommend for travelers: location, breakfast, friendly staff✨

Excellent breakfast, but it was very noisy at night, phone did not work, the water was turned off briefly one night and when it came on again was brown, and fan was variable ranging from cool to hot air. We could not control it

Castillo Rojo is a true diamond. The management and staff of the hotel makes you feel welcomed and so at home. Its location is superb as it has so many eating places on its doorstep. Entertainment at the restaurants was traditional even the kids enjoyed it. My 3 kids who were 16, 13 and 5 absolutely loved it . There was entertainment for all of them and we felt like we were part of the atmosphere. The staff were amazing and arranged all our tours. They gave us tips on how to get to places faster what times were best to visit certain places. The Ertrgrul tour that they arranged included first class travel and a very helpful guide a member of staff from the hotel accompanied us which made it easy for us We had a family room which was perfect in size, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and fresh every day and the staff went out of their way to ensure everyone had something they enjoyed. Although the hotel may not be 5 star, our experience was better than a 5 star hotel. Me and the kids highly recommend it as a place to stay for the family

A great little place which offers excellent value for money and a great location to explore old Istanbul. Easy walking distance to Sultanahmet and Eminomu while there are also plenty of lovely restaurants on the doorstep in Kumkapi. Staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful, particularly Soner and Adem. We would definitely return

We planned to spend a week in Istanbul with the whole family and booked two rooms (family and standart), but unfortunately we have to cancel our reservation at Castillo Rojo Istanbul. When you enter the hotel, you understand that there is the only one kind of description for its condition - “Decline and Fall". Maybe it used to be a small boutique hotel, but now it's definitely not 4 stars and not even 3. There are several reasons for this: - the hotel does not correspond to the declared 3 stars; - the rooms are in terrible condition - the furniture needs to be replaced, the walls and furniture are stained from the spilled liquid; - dust (almost everywhere - on walls, furniture, floor, doors); - the smell of mould in the bathroom (my wife and I are allergic to mould); - the smell of tobacco from the ventilation (i.e. someone smokes either in the rooms or in the hotel in general); - water problems in the bathroom (very weak pressure, the water temperature is constantly jumping); – the bread at breakfast looked far from fresh, the general condition of the terrace is more like a cheap street food with bad food (with all respect for street food); – bad Wi-Fi signal (and after midnight it turns off at all). The only positive thing is the very friendly staff who try to do everything in their power to smooth out the experience of the hotel. When we said that we wanted to leave the hotel, the hotel manager at the reception was not even surprised by that.

We expected a larger room. Obviously the picture on ******* are deceptive. The matress needed to changed for it wasn’t comfortable. The furniture is old and used. The receptionist would advise to eat at his friends’ restaurants. Don’t listen to him.

Superb Hotel
Superb value for money hotel in the old town of Istanbul. The rooms are comfy and large (we had a family room) and the breakfast is great. The area the hotel is located in has lots of restaurants and a stone's throw away from the grand bazaar and blue mosque
