We stayed one night and left underwhelmed. Our “Deluxe Pera Side” room was directly above a 6-lane road. The windows are excellent, so it wasn’t particularly noisy — but it still feels like staying above a highway rather than in a historic hotel.
Pillows were all synthetic, and despite repeated requests, no feather pillows ever arrived — even when replacements were brought and described as such (tags suggested otherwise).
Service was inconsistent. A simple request for directions inside the hotel turned into confusion and a surprisingly dismissive response when we asked again.
Concierge guidance around May 1st closures was well-intended but oddly disproportionate (suggesting a 6 AM departure on foot for a 5 PM flight), which didn’t inspire confidence.
Wi-Fi was effectively unusable despite strong signal and repeated attempts across multiple devices.
Individually these are small issues — together they add up. At this price point, we expected a more polished experience.

It was the first electrified building outside the Ottoman imperial palace and the only place in the city to offer hot water, boasting Istanbul's first electric elevator.

We stayed here for two days during our honeymoon in Istanbul. Built in 1892, the hotel holds incredible historical value and features a stunning, classic interior. We especially loved our coffee time in the lounge, and every staff member was exceptionally kind. It was great to see the breakfast menu changing daily. Getting the chance to ride Turkey's first-ever elevator made us feel truly special, and the small keychain gifted to us as a honeymoon souvenir made us so happy. We felt genuinely well-taken care of throughout our stay. Teşekkür ederim!

I love Pera Palace Hotel!!! It's been love at first sight! ❤️
It's been my dream since about two years to spend a night here and finally last night my husband and I did, and even with my extremely high expectations the stay even surpassed those - it was one of the best hotel stays ever - and we had a lot! 😉
Pera Palace Hotel has such a vibrant history and it nourishes this historical vibe, it's like living in a museum, it is as if you've been dropped into another time about one hundred years back - absolutely lovely, mesmerizing, breathtaking! 😍
On the way to our room #512, we took the first elevator of the country made of wood and cast iron and installed in 1892 - what an exciting ride! 🤩
The ROOM!!! I had booked the Greta Garbo corner room and it DID look like on the pictures - beautiful!!! Again, talking about travelling in time ... Bed was comfy, bathroom with cute old style bathtub 🛁 ... Everything was perfect! There was enough complimentary water, the option to make espresso, tea,... Minibar was available as well but we chose to have a nice glass of Whiskey at the Oriental Bar instead in the evening - so stylish, such a cozy flair, plus quite a big choice of different whiskeys ... 🥃
The service from check-in until check-out was impeccable - valet, reception, Turkish coffee at Kubbeli Lounge, drinks at Oriental Bar, Agatha Restaurant for breakfast with a fantastic buffet... the SPA area is quite small, but very nice as well ... We had a little steam room and sauna session that was very relaxing before retiring to our room for the night ...
This morning, after the delicious breakfast, we visited the Atatürk museum - room #101 where Atatürk used
to reside starting from 1917 until he took residency at Dolmabahçe Palace.

We stopped by the hotel for coffee and were pleasantly surprised. The bar and lounge were gorgeous… we really regretted staying at a different hotel. The staff was polite, and the interior was up to par with an expensive, prestigious 5-star hotel.

It's a luxurious hotel, of course. You can stop in, have a coffee or a meal, and admire the interior. The food is also good, the prices are high, but not exorbitant.

The hotel-museum is a plus. It boasts a rich history and beautiful interiors. It has all the amenities for travel and work. On a positive note, we were checked in at 8 a.m. instead of 2 p.m., and they even served us breakfast, even though I wasn't supposed to have breakfast until the next morning. MIR cards are accepted (physical MIR cards only! MIR Pay doesn't work!). Room 319 is a bit shabby in places, but the soundproofing is good. The building across the street significantly detracts from the hotel's overall impression, though this isn't a problem with the hotel itself. The balcony itself has numerous stale bird droppings on the railings. In my opinion, the balcony needs as much cleaning as the room itself. The sheets, duvet cover, and pillowcase are quite soft, which is nice. The bed itself doesn't creak, and the medium-firm mattress is just right. The TV in the room isn't Smart TV, so you can't watch YouTube. The internet is stable and fast enough.
