It's been my dream since about two years to spend a night here and finally last night my husband and I did, and even with my extremely high expectations the stay even surpassed those - it was one of the best hotel stays ever - and we had a lot! 😉
Pera Palace Hotel has such a vibrant history and it nourishes this historical vibe, it's like living in a museum, it is as if you've been dropped into another time about one hundred years back - absolutely lovely, mesmerizing, breathtaking! 😍
On the way to our room #512, we took the first elevator of the country made of wood and cast iron and installed in 1892 - what an exciting ride! 🤩
The ROOM!!! I had booked the Greta Garbo corner room and it DID look like on the pictures - beautiful!!! Again, talking about travelling in time ... Bed was comfy, bathroom with cute old style bathtub 🛁 ... Everything was perfect! There was enough complimentary water, the option to make espresso, tea,... Minibar was available as well but we chose to have a nice glass of Whiskey at the Oriental Bar instead in the evening - so stylish, such a cozy flair, plus quite a big choice of different whiskeys ... 🥃
The service from check-in until check-out was impeccable - valet, reception, Turkish coffee at Kubbeli Lounge, drinks at Oriental Bar, Agatha Restaurant for breakfast with a fantastic buffet... the SPA area is quite small, but very nice as well ... We had a little steam room and sauna session that was very relaxing before retiring to our room for the night ...
This morning, after the delicious breakfast, we visited the Atatürk museum - room #101 where Atatürk used
to reside starting from 1917 until he took residency at Dolmabahçe Palace.

The afternoon tea was delicious, and the hotel itself was quite nice too. I recommend staying in a celebrity-themed room.

We stopped by the hotel for coffee and were pleasantly surprised. The bar and lounge were gorgeous… we really regretted staying at a different hotel. The staff was polite, and the interior was up to par with an expensive, prestigious 5-star hotel.

It's a luxurious hotel, of course. You can stop in, have a coffee or a meal, and admire the interior. The food is also good, the prices are high, but not exorbitant.

The hotel-museum is a plus. It boasts a rich history and beautiful interiors. It has all the amenities for travel and work. On a positive note, we were checked in at 8 a.m. instead of 2 p.m., and they even served us breakfast, even though I wasn't supposed to have breakfast until the next morning. MIR cards are accepted (physical MIR cards only! MIR Pay doesn't work!). Room 319 is a bit shabby in places, but the soundproofing is good. The building across the street significantly detracts from the hotel's overall impression, though this isn't a problem with the hotel itself. The balcony itself has numerous stale bird droppings on the railings. In my opinion, the balcony needs as much cleaning as the room itself. The sheets, duvet cover, and pillowcase are quite soft, which is nice. The bed itself doesn't creak, and the medium-firm mattress is just right. The TV in the room isn't Smart TV, so you can't watch YouTube. The internet is stable and fast enough.

A truly stunning place! We walked up the tourist route from the embankment past the Galata Tower. We visited on the recommendation of the best Istanbul blogger and guide, @zavarchik_istambul. The hotel has an incredible atmosphere of last-century luxury, and you can visit the lobby bar on the ground floor even if you're not a hotel guest. There are several areas for socializing and enjoying the evening, and the lounge tables are spaced apart, maintaining privacy. We ordered cocktails and dessert, and the prices on the menu are in keeping with the hotel's standard (margarita 155 tl, fruit and chocolate fondue dessert 115 tl). There are plenty of books, objects, and interior details to explore. Unfortunately, we didn't catch the pianist, but there was atmospheric background music. A must-see for tourists fascinated by the Agatha Christie era.

Amazing hotel I love this place

Such a beautiful hotel — one with a story, a soul, and true history behind it. Still preserved under government care, this marvelous place has hosted some of the greatest guests you could ever imagine.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, once lived here — greeting international visitors and laying the foundations for a better future for his people and his country. His suite has been kept as a tribute; the doors to the Atatürk Room open daily at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., allowing guests to quietly pay their respects.

For those drawn to mystery, lose yourself in a cocktail (or two) at the legendary Orient Bar — where Agatha Christie’s Orient Express seems to come alive.
Yet among all the tales this hotel carries, its guest service may be the finest story of all. Attentive, kind, and earnest in every gesture — they bridge any language gap with grace and warmth.

But bear in mind — the rooms are charmingly old, though the cleanliness is truly impeccable. You can hear faint footsteps above when someone walks around, a reminder of the hotel’s vintage bones.
Room temperature control is... let’s say, an adventure. It’s either a steady 22–23.8°C or a blazing 29.8°C. At one point, I thought I was waking up with a tan. I had asked for the heat to be turned up earlier because it was freezing, and while the staff kindly came to fix it, well — this was the outcome so I just opened the window.

Last but not least, DO NOT miss out on afternoon tea at the Orient Bar!

Super interesting hotel! We didn‘t research about the hotel history before we arrived, so we were surprised. The staffs were attentive, but make sure to book your own airport transfer if you travel with family or have too many luggages. The hotel don‘t have their private transportation service.
