We stayed at Grand Durmaz Hotel for 2 nights October 22-24, 2025. The reception staff Mrs. Leila, Mrs. Vesila, Mr. Necdet, Mr. Serkan and Mr. Vihat were very helpful and friendly and did their best to make our stay comfortable. The standard rooms are of a reasonable size and the best ones are those overlooking the main street and seeing the beautiful historical mosque. The breakfast service is excellent and the buffet staff Mrs. Saliha, Mrs. Merve and Mr. Osman are more than wonderful. Thank you all. The location is excellent on two main streets, one is a highway that leads to Taksim and the other has the metro to Sultanahmet. All shops, restaurants, cafes and other services are close by for walking and shopping. It is considered one of the most convenient locations on the European side of Istanbul.

Decent hotel in a good location with Team lines and bus lines in close proximity. Room was good but a little noise from the street that backed on to the hotel. Breakfast was fine. Overall a good experience

The hotel is good, the rooms have a bad smell. The cleanliness is average, some tables have dust. The breakfast is below average, it needs more varieties.

We booked two rooms online. The hotel was listed as a 4 star. I was hoping for stars. It didn't even match three stars. The rooms were listed as 20 m2. They weren't even 15 m2. We went into the room and had to lie down on the bed. The shower was clean but small.
The weather was cold. The air conditioner didn't work, it was broken in both rooms. They said that the four rooms were connected by an air conditioner. It was late. We couldn't wake up the neighbor and had to spend the whole night under the blanket.
I told them several times that the air conditioner wasn't working, they said they'd look into it now. They didn't fix it on time.

I stayed at the hotel for 6 nights at the beginning of September. The room was for me and my sister. We booked a room overlooking the mosque. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a problem with the bathroom drains, so the smell was clear. We close the door before sleeping and before leaving the room to make sure that the room does not fill with this bad smell. But do not consider it a problem in the entire hotel. I asked my friends staying in other rooms and everything was fine and they did not have any smell.
The service is good and satisfactory. The staff are friendly and speak English and some of them speak Arabic as well. Daily room cleaning service.
I did not take pictures of the breakfast buffet, but it is considered excellent. It has several types to satisfy all tastes and is very delicious.
The hotel's location is excellent, close to several transportation routes. You can reach Taksim Square via the bus station near the hotel, and you can reach Eminonu, Sirkeci, Sultanahmet and Beyazit And even further via the tram station very close to the hotel.
There are grocery stores, exchange shops, sweet shops, restaurants and a mosque next to it.
In general, the hotel is very clean and comfortable, the breakfast is delicious, the staff is kind, the location is great, and I highly recommend staying there.👌

Very bad experience “with” not “in” hotel. I did a reservation with agoda and when I arrived to the hotel (11 pm) the receptionist said to me that the hotel is full and it’s impossible to have a room. I asked for a solution (confirmation support by mail), he said to me “you can wait till the morning” I can do nothing for you, I’m the face of this hotel, there is no management”.
Even if there is a reservation problem, you must welcome differently by investing in professional staff.
