Good location, but the room is too small.

Can Trip.com please stop misleading me with deceptive photos? The hotel's location is great, but besides the helpful porters, everything else was just so-so. The hotel might be a converted old building; the lobby is quite exquisite, and the rooms also look refined, but the soundproofing is extremely poor. You can clearly hear doors opening and closing next door. There was also a mysterious drainage sound; after lying down, I actually thought I hadn't closed my room door. I booked a twin room, and it was so incredibly small that I couldn't even open my suitcase. The most unbearable part was that the drainage in the bathroom sink area might not be great, as there was a foul odor. Luckily, I only booked one night. For over 2,000 RMB, it's not a cheap small hotel. Plus, taxis can't get directly to the hotel entrance. After we got out of the car, we had to drag two suitcases up an uneven stone slope, struggling to move them to the hotel.

Great stay, but missed the special touch.

The room was beautiful and well-equipped with all the amenities you’d expect.
The staff were friendly, and the chauffeur was extremely helpful, assisting us with parking every single time.

We were there to celebrate our anniversary, and while they had confirmed a cake, it was unfortunately never provided.
That small miss on a special occasion took away from what could have been a perfect experience.

Overall, the stay was lovely, but a bit more attention to detail would’ve made it truly top-notch.

Absolutely loved our stay at Orient Occident Hotel!
From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The rooms are stunning – beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered to create a relaxing and stylish space.
The service was outstanding. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful – nothing was ever too much trouble. They made us feel so welcome and well looked after throughout our stay. And English speaking which was super helpful.
The rooftop bar was great – With breathtaking views across the city and Bosphorus, it was the perfect place to enjoy a drink and take in the sunset. It had a great atmosphere and great cocktails.
Highly recommend Orient Occident for anyone visiting Istanbul!

The room was a bit small, but everything else was fine. The front desk was very friendly and told us they loved Chongqing, China. We arrived at the hotel at 10 a.m. and they let us check in early. The facilities were exactly as shown in the pictures. In Istanbul, which is full of shabby, dirty, hot and irritating hotels, returning to the hotel felt like entering heaven.

All of the hotel staff treat you like family from the moment you arrive in the lobby. Their customer service is the absolute best. I've stayed at this hotel twice in the past year and I will continue to reserve a room here whenever I return to Istanbul. The rooms are beautiful, clean, quiet, and luxurious. The Turkish breakfast on the rooftop is as good as anything you will find when traveling. The location of the hotel is perfect for touring the city centre by foot. I give this hotel my highest recommendation.

This is a fantastic Marriott in the old city. Very convenient location as you can walk to all the key areas and spots. Staff is super polite and nice - Nikki was our main contact who was just superb, rooms are great, and also lots of restaurants and shops with Turkish delicacies nearby. Not close to high end shopping or Asian side though so take that into account accordingly. Would definitely stay here again.

Very good hotel, quiet in the hustle and bustle, a few steps away from the bustling streets of the old town, but the hotel is very quiet. The breakfast is on the rooftop, rich and delicious, colorful, and all the service staff are very warm and thoughtful.
