I am staying at Villa Rotana in Dubai and while the stay did not start well, the hotel handled the situation professionally in the end.
The property itself is a bit dated, and the rooms would benefit from some updates. For example, there are no USB charging ports, and some of the furniture feels old.
I did experience a cleanliness issue on the first day, where I noticed false eyelashes stuck on the bathroom door, clearly left behind by a previous guest. I reported this to reception and raised my concern. Although the initial housekeeping response did not fully resolve the issue, management later stepped in, addressed the matter properly, and upgraded me to a better unit, which I appreciated.
I would like to give a special mention to Abdul, who was professional, courteous, and genuinely helpful in resolving the situation. His approach and attitude made a real difference and helped restore confidence.
Breakfast is somewhat limited in terms of variety, but acceptable.
Overall, while there were some initial shortcomings, the way the issue was handled and the upgrade provided improved the experience significantly. With some updates to the rooms and more consistent housekeeping, this could be a very good option. On balance, I would rate this stay 4 stars.
The room was suitable for a long stay with a kitchen and living room.
The staff are extremely friendly, with special thanks to Abdul at the reception for his outstanding service.
The view from the hotel window was stunning: Burj Khalifa!

The pool staff and lifeguards Bijay and Saphal (from Nepal) and Emlar (from the Philippines) are extremely professional and friendly. They take great care of the pool area and are always very attentive, so guests feel completely safe. Nothing even close to an accident ever happens because they are so focused on their work. They also adjust the umbrellas for guests — such great service!

The staff were friendly, especially the Concierge Supun respectful and always ready to help whenever I had questions. Check-in and check-out were quick and smooth. The hotel also felt very safe, which is especially important in Dubai.
Breakfast was good with a nice variety, and the general atmosphere in the hotel was calm and pleasant. Wi-Fi worked well and the air conditioning was strong enough for the Dubai heat.
Overall, I can definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a comfortable stay in Dubai at a fair price. I enjoyed my time here and would stay again
