I’ve stayed in some dives, but Hotel Sophia is a biohazard masquerading as a building. Calling this a "hotel" is a crime against the English language. The Arrival from Hell: The lobby smelled like a mixture of wet dog, bleach, and raw sewage. The "receptionist" didn't even look up from his phone, just tossed a key at me that looked like it had been pulled out of a gutter. The Room (The Dungeon): I opened the door and was hit by a wall of humid, stagnant air. The Bed: I pulled back the gray, crusty sheets and found a literal ecosystem. Bed bugs weren't just present; they were holding a convention. There were blood spots on the mattress that looked decades old. The Bathroom: The "shower" was a death trap. Exposed wiring was sparking near the showerhead, and the black mould on the ceiling was actually dripping onto the floor. I found a used bandage stuck to the tiles. The "Extras": I moved the bedside table and found a mountain of ancient rubbish, including what looked like a dead rodent and several "items" that definitely shouldn't be in a public space. Safety & Security: The window didn't lock, and the door frame was so warped I could see into the hallway. I spent the night propping a chair against the door while listening to people screaming in the street and what sounded like a fistfight in the room next door. The walls are paper-thin; I could hear the person above me breathing. The Verdict: I left at 3 AM. I didn't even ask for a refund; I just needed to get out before I caught a respiratory infection or was carried away by the insects. I had to burn my suitcase when I got home to make sure I didn't bring the plague with me. STAY AWAY. I’d rather sleep on a damp piece of cardboard in Paddington Station than spend another minute in this squalid, crumbling ruin.

I returned to the hotel after a period away and found they have new owners. The night guy is incredible - I’ve never experienced a cross dressing receptionist before and the outfit doesn’t leave much to the imagination. Room service is first class, I had a problem with my radiator and J came in his outfit and fixed it for me with no fuss. This is now a strictly adults only hotel and there are some shenanigans that go on. J normally turns a blind eye or gets involved. There were no snakes, bedbugs or any other wild animals when so was there so all that is nonsense. When checking in ask for the VIP service and J will almost certainly oblige. Don’t go down to the dungeon though, that’s reserved for staff entertainment.

My mate josh just got screamed at by the staff and then some random bloke on the street called Kieran just stole his brand new kickers and he used the shoes as a pot for his money (his 50 pence) when I finally checked in to my room Morgan freeman was in the shower and his pet silverback gorilla was on my bed also I think that Morgan violently pooed in toilet because it was mad smelly and it wouldn't flush there was also a transgender bloke in the corner producing breastmilk at a rapid rate when josh lifted the duvet his nan was there giving him his 67th can of lynx this year cause he is smelly so josh snapped her legs Van Dijk style and then chinned her Zidane knockout style then josh started crying cause he is a sad little boy so he revived his nan and then his nan and the gorilla started playing tap outs his nan won but she still cant say burglar alarm (his nan is from the rough ends of Glasgow) but on the bright side the Chinese takeaway down the street was banging 10/11 would recommend

I went to this hotel and all I saw was rats and mice then I went to take a poop to find a baby gorilla in the toilet bowl. I cant believe that and after all that I went down stairs too find a baby snake inside of my coffee they had served me. I hate this place but I think i will go back it was so funny to find 17 baby cockroaches with mini knives and ak-47s the baby gorilla now lives happy with us his name is Timmy. I will say the mama gorilla is a good friend of ours now she lives at Home with her husband. I hope they can fly over here to Russia real soon.

Wow just so horrible, I went for my aunt Marissa's funeral. This place was worst then the hell Marissa was in (Marissa was a cannibal). I WANT MY MONEY BACK NOWW! The staff abused me they kept coming in my room and massaging my feet when asked not to. Do not book your stay here i wish i was with marissa rather than being here.

Went here every morning for breakfast while staying in London. The staff was attentive and friendly. The food was very filling and helped me get through the first part of the day. Loved the servers!

Nice restaurant that caters well for young families. Great friendly atmosphere. The food was good and the bill was acceptable. Excellent location right next to Paddington Station. I'd take my family back there again so therefore I'd recommend this restaurant.

Average food at best, overpriced. Friendly staff which make up for it. We got sat down very quickly and the food arrived promptly, the wine selection was limited. Good for a quick bite before going out but I wouldn't choose this place for a date or having a nice meal with loved ones.

Food was very nice, but service was slow, almost non-existent despite not having many tables to attend at the time.

Good selection of the salad bar and all round variety in the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also nice place for afternoon tea. Prices are reasonable, portion sizes good be a bit bigger but otherwise good value for money still. Service is reasonably quick depending on time of day but even through busy periods I have found service to be good. Staff are polite, friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. Good place for family of 4 to dine together as there are booth style seating available. Overall good experience.

A typical English pub in a great area, located in the heart of Paddington, right in front of the Paddington train and underground station. Also facing the Paddington Hilton hotel.

Friendly staff and quick service.

Tried their fish and chips, and it was good.

Would definitely visit again if in the area or travelling from Paddington station.

A budget option in Central London, very close to Paddington Underground and GWR Station. Very convenient location to/ from Heathrow Airport. Among negatives; constant noise of water and hand dryers from washrooms, cold rooms and even colder attitude of the lady approving the complimentary breakfast in the restaurant area. Apparently she was the owner of the property. Rest of the staff was very cordial and cheerful.

Nice pub. Good location. Good food and drinks range. Friendly staff.

Breakfast was good after a rough night but the pricing was a bit off for any changes to the menu. Suppose that serves you right for being fussy.

my worst nightmare, my cell phone, my passport and my money were stolen, someone broke the lock and took my backpack with all my things, I asked to see the images of the camera in the door entrance, they say they can't show me the images, until the police come and they would come the next day, a week waiting and the police never came. They told me that in the images they have seen someone who was not registered in the room in and out, that made me more angry, as it is possible that someone who is not in the room come, who provided the keys? the staff? It was all very confusing and in my despair they just told me that they felt it and that they could not do anything

Not a bad restaurant at all !! First of all the service from the waiters is one of the best given to me. I sat with another member invited to order opening garlic bread with mozzarella and mozzarella buffalo. Main courses We ordered gnocchi 4 cheeses, lasagna and pizza with chicken and onion. The first and main dishes were excellent .. the pizza was a little disappointing.

We are hear on vacation and love our food. Eaten at 2 Michelin Star restaurants this week and this place has the same quality of food and much better service than both those restaurants! Not to mention a fraction of the price! Restaurant was packed and food was out on the table within minutes... Thank you Ivan for fantastic service. We look forward to our next visit! :)
