I notice this hotel has 3 stars, which I find most surprising! From the outside, the hotel looks nice + is obviously in a good central location. However as soon as we went into reception, it was noticeable that it was old + needed a lot of work. We were shown to our room + my initial reaction was of shock. No toilet, sink or shower! No drink making facilities! The double wardrobe had the door hanging off. The carpet was grubby + worn, not even fitted properly on to the very uneven floor. It was a family room of 3 beds, but the one single bed looked as tho it was about to collapse, so was not used. I immediately checked the bedding, which I was relieved to find was clean, however the pillows were so worn + foam disintegrated, that I decided to purchase two new ones. The toilet/shower facilities were situated across the reception + downstairs into the basement area. The shower worked well, but desperately needed a good deep clean. The carpets throughout were very grubby/stained. During the early hours of the morning, we were awoken suddenly by someone trying to get into our room. They were noisily trying to unlock the door with keys + being very persistent too. We woke up feeling quite vulnerable, my husband opened the door + a member of staff was there. He apologised + said that he thought it was the utility room? Although we had a number on our door…….Very odd!! I appreciate that the prices are reasonable, but I did not think hotels like this still existed! I personally would give it one star, which is purely based on its location.

Excellent location, very convenient for the British Museum, and easy to walk around. There's a Tesco nearby, so you can grab breakfast and head straight to the museum's south entrance.

It's a historic building with no elevator. The front desk offered to store my suitcase, so I only took essentials up to the 3rd (or 4th) floor. No amenities were provided, but towels were available. The room wasn't exactly spotless, but for a central London location within walking distance to Euston, I can't really complain.

Avoid at all costs. Disgustingly dirty bathroom, tiles off the floor, shower mat looked like it have never been cleaned! Toilet, dont really know how to describe but wouldn't have let my dog near it! Coffee cups dirty, coffee out of date, carpet dirty, electrics dodgy...only stayed as we had no choice. Mouse traps outside room.

Price and location, superb. Top floor, thankfully Doors all bang, would be easy fixed, staircase, no idea how passing safety inspection. Needs a deep clean and lick of paint, plus, main door key fob entry rather than pressing button like a kid. Again, am aware price reflects the expected standard.

I had to check out immediately after finding a live mouse in my room (Room 5A) at Thanet Hotel / Lonsdale Hotel. This is a serious hygiene and health concern and completely unacceptable for any accommodation. The management acknowledged the issue and agreed to refund the unused nights, but communication has been unclear and slow regarding when the refund will actually be processed. Given the condition of the room and the presence of pests, I cannot recommend this hotel. I have escalated the matter to the relevant authorities.

Awful hotel, doors like paper could hear every door slam, shared shower and bathrooms. Was like a prison room, had a sink in room and tiny TV.

Not a good hotel, the ceiling had mold on it and the showers was horrible

Disgusting experience in this hotel. Rooms are extremly dirty, carpets are filthy, i could not stay in this hotel i left 15 minutes after i got the room. Please find somewhere else to stay. I paid 115 pounds for a room for 1 night, i couldnt stay due to the state of the room i got, lost the money and had to paid even more to book a decent hotel the same day. Even if you are in a budget, the are other options, do not stay here.

The location is good and very quiet. It was a little pricey because I had a private bathroom. Being on the ground floor was a relief, as there was no elevator. My double room was spacious with high ceilings and three beds. The shower room had no curtain, so no matter how careful I was, the floor would get wet. A curtain is essential. There were no body soap or other amenities. There was a kettle and cups. The floors at reception and in the room were a bit worn and outdated, but the decor was lovely. However, I had to pay £5.50 per day (paid via app) for luggage storage, once before check-in and once after check-out.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The bowling was great but the food let it down. Christmas lunch was very greasy and a bit too much had been thrown in to everything. Dessert particularly disappointing. The Christmas burger could have done without the chestnuts and the stuffing on the top of the bun made it soggy. My cherry turnover was dry and a touch burnt. I swapped with a friend's creme brulee but that was so over flavoured no one wanted it. Was better last year.

All Star Lanes advertises itself as a 50s style diner, trying to emulate the atmosphere of the time. The furniture and style didn't dissapoint on that front and a number of items dotted around the place made for a more authentic experience.

I was disappointed with the food - the vegetarian starter was very bland, and the main came presented in a way which made it difficult to eat, and wasn't especially tasty either.

The bowling, however, was good fun and this made it worth the journey. Worth doing as part of a big group especially.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. I attended with clients, we were told three times on the phone that we couldn't book more than one game in advance and had to book on the day. On the day, we were told there weren't any more lanes free for another 12 hours. Cheers. We were then kicked off of our lane without even getting half way through a game - no warning about there being a time limit (it was on the confirmation email - because we all read the confirmation email, don't we kids) and no prompt to say we were nearing the end of our game. We were kicked off the two lanes we booked, and sat down for a lunch for two hours, overlooking two other lanes which were COMPLETELY FREE FOR THE WHOLE TWO HOURS. The restaurant staff were very good, front of house really let themselves down.

All Stars? More like One Star.

Good place to go with large groups. Had our team Christmas dinner here. Was a good Night out with a Game of Bowling to start of and followed by dinner. Gave it 4 stars because the salmon came with a very spicy tomato sauce that really did not go with fish. So maybe avoid that. All else was great and it was a fun night out and great for bonding with colleagues.

I didn't bowl here, but I did drink some beer and ate some chicken wings. The beer and wings were great and the surroundings were pretty great. My only criticism is that I think wings should be butchered into drums and flats, rather than served up whole, but I'm not a baby and enjoyed eating them all the same. I like it here!
