Update as of July 2022:
Booked this hotel again but got worried about the bad reviews lately on google and booking. Emailed and asked about it. Got no response.
Ended up booking another hotel instead. Walked passed this one when we arrived and it looks closed. Door was locked. Nobody around.
Glad we chose another establishment. This feels like a scam.

A bit pricey for what this hotel has to offer. Room was a decent size. As was the bathroom. Everything feels clean and up to date but the fitted rug (although cozy) feels outdated.
On occasion the room was very hot.

Room had safe, kettle and decent Wifi. I really miss a fridge!

Staff in reception seems to change often and it’s a bit annoying they don’t recognize at the front desk.

The room was small. Heating was on full blast. Was difficult even with the window open. Shower was not good. No space in bathroom and all the toiletries were placed on the sink.
The door was locked with no sign to redirect 4 doors down to a hotel with a different name.
If not for the location, I would have given one star.

The staff in Hotel were Fantastic, from the minute arriving they couldn't do enough for us. Nothing was trouble and the team of staff in their are a credit to the Hotel chain!!! Special mention to Andrea the Assistant Manager and Amar, they both ensured our stay was perfect. Please don't overlook this hotel, for value for money and Location you will struggle to find better.👏. Please see photo below, lovely well presented garden terrace to the rear of the hotel. Very nice area to sit and relax upon return to your hotel or morning Coffee ☕.

Had a very nice stay. It was comfortable and I loved that it was so quaint and traditional in its appearance which fit perfectly with the historic building. I just don't understand why they don't maintain it better. The important things were fine, it's just that there are lots of small cosmetic things that other hotels would have fixed, like frayed carpet or damaged trim.

Raj was very helpful and friendly, which was appreciated!

The location is good. but the bathroom is dirty. Some towel do not smell fresh. There are lots of scales and dirts on the bathroom wall. It is quite small too! No slippers provided!

The hairdryer is broken and made enormous sharp noise and I ended up not using it. The radiator is not working only half of it is hot. The room is cold. I woke up in the morning very cold with sore throat!

The worst hotel that I stayed so far !

Very dated rooms, need a good update and spruce up the bathrooms. To get a drink you need to go next door and carry your drinks down the street, not acceptable.

The room was warm and didn't have air conditioning. The hotel didn't have a bar but had To go next door. The breakfast was ok, made to order, would have preferred a self service.

I’d say good service and a very nice staff but the toilets are too tight , tall and wide men will find it hard to fit in the rooms too but overall I’d recommended it because of its location (being at the city center) and the service.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The bowling was great but the food let it down. Christmas lunch was very greasy and a bit too much had been thrown in to everything. Dessert particularly disappointing. The Christmas burger could have done without the chestnuts and the stuffing on the top of the bun made it soggy. My cherry turnover was dry and a touch burnt. I swapped with a friend's creme brulee but that was so over flavoured no one wanted it. Was better last year.

All Star Lanes advertises itself as a 50s style diner, trying to emulate the atmosphere of the time. The furniture and style didn't dissapoint on that front and a number of items dotted around the place made for a more authentic experience.

I was disappointed with the food - the vegetarian starter was very bland, and the main came presented in a way which made it difficult to eat, and wasn't especially tasty either.

The bowling, however, was good fun and this made it worth the journey. Worth doing as part of a big group especially.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. I attended with clients, we were told three times on the phone that we couldn't book more than one game in advance and had to book on the day. On the day, we were told there weren't any more lanes free for another 12 hours. Cheers. We were then kicked off of our lane without even getting half way through a game - no warning about there being a time limit (it was on the confirmation email - because we all read the confirmation email, don't we kids) and no prompt to say we were nearing the end of our game. We were kicked off the two lanes we booked, and sat down for a lunch for two hours, overlooking two other lanes which were COMPLETELY FREE FOR THE WHOLE TWO HOURS. The restaurant staff were very good, front of house really let themselves down.

All Stars? More like One Star.

Good place to go with large groups. Had our team Christmas dinner here. Was a good Night out with a Game of Bowling to start of and followed by dinner. Gave it 4 stars because the salmon came with a very spicy tomato sauce that really did not go with fish. So maybe avoid that. All else was great and it was a fun night out and great for bonding with colleagues.

I didn't bowl here, but I did drink some beer and ate some chicken wings. The beer and wings were great and the surroundings were pretty great. My only criticism is that I think wings should be butchered into drums and flats, rather than served up whole, but I'm not a baby and enjoyed eating them all the same. I like it here!
