Description

The Edwardian Manchester, A Radisson Collection Hotel, offers a variety of room types including Collection Superior Double rooms and spacious Penthouse Suites with up to two bedrooms. Opened relatively recently, the hotel features air conditioning, a fitness centre, sauna, spa and wellness centre, plus a restaurant serving buffet breakfast with an option for in-room dining. Guests have access to amenities such as free parking, 24-hour front desk, currency exchange, and concierge service. The hotel permits service animals but does not allow pets. Despite a high rating of 9/10 overall, reviews reveal some inconsistencies in room condition and service, especially at check-in. The rooms are generally spacious and well-equipped, with extras replenished daily, but some guests noted worn fittings and occasional housekeeping issues. The spa area, including a large pool, jacuzzi, and sauna, receives particular praise for cleanliness and comfort.

Location

Located on Peter Street in Manchester city centre, The Edwardian Manchester is just a short walk from the Cenotaph war memorial, approximately 287 metres away. It sits near popular dining spots such as Almost Famous restaurant, 116 metres away, and Evuna Deansgate, 280 metres distant, both highly rated by visitors. The hotel is also conveniently positioned close to Manchester Central Convention Complex, making it suitable for conference attendees. For travelers arriving by air, Luton Airport (LTN) is about 217 kilometres from the hotel. The central location provides easy access to the city’s shopping and entertainment districts.

Tips

  • Book spa treatments and pool access in advance to secure your preferred time slot, especially during peak hours.
  • If you prefer a firmer bed, consider requesting it in advance, as some guests found the beds too soft.

It’s not 5 star…

Probably a hard review to write, if it had a title it would be “imbalanced”
Food and drink were excellent and service staff in both areas were on point

Front of desk were a mixed bag but again majority were on point, had 2 rooms(1 an upgrade) both had tired woodwork and fittings that fell apart and a mini bar (empty) with the fascia falling off

You pay 5 star prices and don’t get 5 star package, arrived early so was ok not getting my room but to sit and watch in excess of 50 people get checked in after me and still not get my assigned room after 3pm is poor at best

Upgraded to a suite when we complained about the overall room and experience after being told our original room is an held as an upgrade for others but I had already paid for this level of room may months ago…

Breakfast, food and in restaurant was superb but was challenged at the front as they had no record of my having already prepaid for breakfast which I then had to show them proof from my booking details

We felt judge on arrival which made us feel uncomfortable and felt like as we hadn’t booked direct then we were held back in room allocation

We won’t be back as stayed in much better hotels in the area at a much cheaper price, as said “imbalanced”

Nice location, bed too soft , staff not attentive at check in , nice free bottle of water and nespresso.

The all-inclusive room service breakfast was amazing. Spa facilities were incredibly clean with very comfortable beds. Rooms were well stocked with extras and housekeeping replenished such. Minor issue with the lifts, may be a little inconvenient to those in a rush, but not an issue for us. Great experience

It was a lovely stay. We booked this hotel specifically for the spa, and loved the big pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Only thing was we didn’t realised you had to book early to get a slot to go to the spa, and it can get crowded in the evening. If you’re as keen as my friend, you could go at 7am and have the place all to yourself.

Although we didn’t use it, we walked past the gym right next to the spa and it looked well equipped, smelled really nice and clean too!

We ate to our heart’s content at the buffet breakfast. They have the crispiest hashbrowns!

The hotel is very new, the room is super spacious, and the facilities are also excellent.

The only downside is the price, but that's not really the hotel's fault.
Cleanliness: Spotless
Service: The front desk staff (especially the lady) was super nice.
Environment: Excellent location.
Facilities: Beautiful.
I've already highly recommended it to my family, friends, and classmates. I will definitely stay here again.

Hotel is just right beside Manchester Central! Superb location for those attending conference. Even if you are a tourist, it is also walking distance to the shopping belt area! Very convenient! Room is huge and comfortable! Highly recommended! Love the hotel breakfast.

Hotel was impeccable, amazing customer service. Was celebrating my partner’s 30th, they even upgraded our room which was a lovely surprise. He had booked the spa facilities which were a dream, the treatments too were fabulous. The fish and chips and peter street kitchen was out of this world too, don’t hesitate to book

Visited here for the first time on a busy Friday night. The Christmas Markets were on and it was shortly after knocking off time but our group of 3 were quickly and politely seated within a few minutes of arriving.

Food was expensive for what you got when compared to things like 'beer and a burger' at Wetherspoons. I'd definitely recommend the fries though as they were very filling with different toppings.

Only negatives were the loud music and having to wait nearly 15 minutes for the bill.

Just amazing good, definitely nothing slimming world or WW friendly but so reliably good. Not the cheapest but definitely the best. Drinks menu is pretty extensive

We went there with no reservations on a Saturday night and it was crowded. We were seated within 15 minutes without issue. It is quite a loud place, as you may suspect, so conversations can be a challenge. The bartender was mixing the drinks at a face pace and from what we saw, she was not skimping on the alcohol. The burger choices are a bit overwhelming especially if you just want a plain cheese burger. The fried pickles are a good treat so be sure to ask for them as they are not on the menu as a side. Overall, the burgers were a bit overcooked. The toppings were plenty and delicious. You should now understand why there are paper towels on the table (eating is messy). Try the shakes (we didn't ) as they looked yummy.

If you've ever used the phrase "Cheeky Nandos" either ironically or not, you'll like it.

Fantastic burgers. The beef its self lacking but make up for it with sauce that is unmatched. It is the kinda of place that is part of the recently overly excessive burgers. I went during a £10 for a burger and beer with fries and found this to be a great deal.

Nice interior, friendly staff.

Great food and nice staff. Pricey it has to be said, but a very nice meal. A little note, the chips have large portions... And enough for two people who consume an average amount of food. Me and my girlfriend ordered one each and had to battle through them because there was so much!

Good place tho. Give it a go.

Greeted by you have until 730pm to vacate your table.. This was 515pm..
Food served prompt , so prompt the main meal came out within seconds of the starter.. Service was awful, price was ridiculous and all together a poor experience. Not recommended at all. Not being funny but other customers where complaining about the rudeness of the staff..

Nice Turkish food - very meat heavy, but veg options available. Quick but not rushed, friendly staff. Recommended.
21.11.2017 Kyril
Nice good quality Turkish food presented nicely and the staff were amazing. They were well worth the trip just to talk too.

Great food and great service. I had read a few reviews stating that this restaurant was not suitable for vegetarians but nearly all of the starters were vegetarian and there were also several main dishes to choose from. My boyfriend really enjoyed his meat dishes too. We did the 2 course evening menu for £15.50 and asked for an additional starter of hummus and pitta. The waitress very kindly pointed out that all starters come with pitta anyway so she just added on a plate of hummus, at no charge. Service was friendly and quick. As a vegetarian, I would definitely eat here again and would highly recommend it. My boyfriend has visited several areas of Turkey and said the food was as good as anything he had eaten there!

Came here yesterday with my partner and absolutely loved it. We was really fortunate to be given a seat at the bar after walking in and found it to be a really great place with a great atmosphere. The food was perfect and had so much flavour. Also the staff were great. Would defiantly come back again next time we're in the city.

Enjoyable experience with a true Spanish feel!
Tapas offer was great value and the food and service was brill.
21.11.2017 David
I went here late afternoon at the weekend only to be greeted by a rude front on house gentleman, that couldn’t be bothered and turned us away saying they are fully booked when clearly the place was less than half full.
I’ve been many times before but, will not be returning to feel uncomfortable.

Amazing place..Amazing food and service. Lovely atmosphere, really enjoyed it there
18.03.2017 Guy
Great Saturday lunch. Wonderful atmospheric venue, good size and well staffed. Service and quality were excellent even on a busy sitting. We had 9 tapas between 3, each very different and delicious. This was entirely sufficient for us but we couldn't resist dessert and coffee. All good.
