Hotel MDR Marina del Rey - a DoubleTree by Hilton in Los Angeles

Invoice accuracy shouldn’t take as much follow up and effort on the customers part as this visit did. We arrived at 9:00pm and the room I had checked in online for still wasn't ready so I had to go to the front desk.
The real problem starts the morning of checkout. I went to the front desk at 7:45am and checked out in the morning (or I was given the impression that I was checked out). When providing the girl at the front desk my keys to check out, I asked her to confirm my Diamond membership food and beverage discount of $36 was applied. She stated she would do it right now and send me an electronic receipt. I left and then a few hours later received a notification that I could check out using the app. I checked my email and there were no receipt and the app showed I still hadn’t checked out. I checked out on the app and waited for the electronic invoice to show up. When it did, the food and beverage credit wasn’t applied. I called and spoke with the front desk. The girl who answered the phone said her manager was in and would get it taken care of within 10 minutes and send me an updated invoice. I checked my email 3 hours later and no updated invoice. I then tried calling multiple times over the next couple of hours only to be put on hold for over 10 minutes each time with a person never coming back to the phone. I gave up and checked back that evening and in fact no food credit was applied and no updated invoice received.
I called the next day and spoke with Cynthia who applied the food and beverage credit and sent me an updated invoice. I asked who the GM of the location was (Mark Pope) and requested that they contact me and provided my phone number.
It is now 3 days later, and I never received a call back.

Booked a pool view and enjoyed a front and center view of the restrooms. To see a corner of the pool all I had to do was squish my face against the window. A furnished private patio was accessible, as long as you're willing to climb through a window. The front desk blamed the confusion on me misunderstanding my reservation. They did offer some loyalty points but had no intention of providing. I stay at a lot of Hilton properties, but this place will be a one time only experience for me.

I think this is one of the worst hotel experiences ever. First room was overlooking Lincoln blvd…if you like sleeping next to a noisy highway then this hotel is for you. Next room, next to the parking lot so I get to hear car alarms all night and the fans are so old they’re noisier than the freeway. The windows and doors are not paned enough to block noise. The front desk sends maintenance to my room. He looks at the unit and tells me they’re all like that. Feels like a crappy motel in the middle of Hollywood!

It gets better…
I get room # 3 which was an improvement and the woman at the desk was much friendlier and accommodating this time. 10:30 /11pm, loud obnoxious drunk people at the bar, you could hear them throughout the property, took me to call the front desk for them to send security to ask them to keep it down.
Final night…I get back late around 10pm - housekeeping is doing rooms down the hall all night so I enjoyed trying to sleep with the doors slamming randomly. To top it off, my room wasn’t even cleaned!!!
At check out, the staff couldn’t be more distant. Not surprised they didn’t ask how my stay was.
With so many choices and hotels actually in the Marina, won’t be back and would never recommend.
