Hotel Marisol Coronado in San Diego

I stayed at Marisol Coronado for three nights and had a truly pleasant experience from the moment I checked in. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The room was quaint and well-appointed, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel’s location is excellent—situated on a quiet street, yet conveniently close to everything. The coffee and breakfast area were beautifully done and added to the overall charm of the stay. I highly recommend Marisol Coronado to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable place to stay.

I can take no credit for discovering this gem of a hotel; that honor goes to my lady friend. The word that sprang to mind on first viewing was "quaint." It is something of a period piece, externally reminiscent of the 1930's and earlier, a time and fashion (the Golden Age of Aviation) to which I am particularly partial. The staff, even at the late hour we arrived, was friendly and welcoming. Stepping into the tiny, vintage elevator with its wooden door and wood paneling, iron gate and brass control panel was like stepping back in time. The rooms are very cozy (small but adequate in size) but one would wish their decor matched the rest of the hotel in terms of continuing the ambience. The bed and bedding were soft and plush. Most importantly to me--who has difficulty sleeping in any unfamiliar environment--the hotel is dead quiet due to its location on a Coronado side street. That makes it a far better choice than anything in downtown San Diego. It is well worth the drive across the bay bridge for the added comfort. My one quibble is the installation of sliding glass doors to the toilet and shower room. It was pure coincidence that a critical Guardian article appeared in my next day's email newsletter feed regarding this spreading fashion among hotels. But as a friend said, if you are worried about someone hearing you urinate you probably shouldn't be sharing a hotel room. Overall, I would return to the Marisol in a heartbeat. It is the most pleasant experience I have had in any hotel stay in over a decade.

Great location. Clean, great amenities, continental breakfast was best I've had. This place is awesome for a quick water adjacent stay.

Missing a parking, 2 hour during the day are not convenient.

Small and quaint! Near Coronados main area. I loved its clean and staff was just way to nice!

The hotel was fantastic. I like the walking distance to the beach and great restaurants and shopping. I felt very safe there by myself.
The staff went above and beyond to make sure you had everything you needed or wanted. All you had to do was ask.

Amazing Boutique Hotel
Beautiful little boutique hotel a block from the beach/Hotel Del and next to all the shops and restaurants.
The hotel is very stylishly decorated, offers a continental breakfast with delicious pastries plus free deckchairs and umbrella for a day at the beach.
There’s also a lovely courtyard to enjoy some outdoor space.
I can’t fault this hotel and will definitely return the next time I’m in Coronado.
Amazing value for money.

This was one of the best hotels my husband and I have ever stayed! The room was so romantic, clean, and comfortable. The bed was very plush and the sheets were incredibly soft. The staff was so incredibly kind, informative and wonderful to deal with. I can not wait to come back.
