Margaritaville Hotel San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego1 / 22
8.8
San Diego, 435 6th Ave (in the centre) 🧭 Map
They were amazing ensuring I always have my car promptly and be at my meetings on time. The room was very spacious, clean and cute with the whole Margaritavill/Jimmy Buffet theme
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and really enjoyed our time there. Everything was very clean, the rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, and the rooftop pool was excellent — especially since it was heated
Valet parking is quite expensive at $60 per night, but it’s the best option and feels very safe. A special shout-out to Kamal, who works with the valet parking
Fun atmosphere and refreshing change of scenery. Staff was helpful and location is outstanding.
Perfect location in the Gaslamp District. Rooms were large & clean with friendly staff.
It’s also highly recommended to always make reservations in advance for all restaurants, both within the hotel and outside of it. Overall, everything else was excellent

San Diego, 150 W Broadway (in the centre) 🧭 Map
My wife and I loved this hotel for a weekend getaway, and we hope to come again. Historic Pickwick Hotel was completely gutted and renamed the Sofia a decade ago
Convenient transportation The front desk and housekeeping services were excellent The room had a refrigerator and microwave.
I called the front desk, and they promptly addressed the issue, restoring peace. I truly appreciate their quick response. The only downside was that the front desk didn’t have a nail clipper available when I needed one
I stayed for four nights to watch a Padres game. The room quality and service were excellent and well worth the price. On the second night, the neighboring room was extremely noisy past midnight
The service was excellent First choice for business travel The location is very good Check-in service feels very good
Perfect for a solo business trip. Nice and clean. Friendly staff.

Westgate Hotel, San Diego1 / 30

San Diego, 1055 Second Ave (in the centre) 🧭 Map
We did not partake in the rooftop bar or pool as it was full of kids at the time. (Maybe recommendation could be no children under 18 after X time?) Overall very happy with hotel
Bed was comfy, loved layout of bathroom for privacy. (Which did not impact the 5 star rating) 1) pillows were not ideal 2) our room window faced the metro trolly street
So we were unable to ever sleep in due to the constant beep beep from the trolly every 2 minutes or so starting at 5 am each day
Service in all areas of the hotel was excellent. Meals were beautifully presented. Room was elegant and gorgeous.
The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff is super nice and helpful. Rooftop/gym/pool amazing. Highly recommend!
Beautiful hotel. Unfortunately the heater did not work on the first day. It has a big space. Location is okay. Need to go to Gaslamp for dinner. Some area were not safe walking alone.

The best hotel so close to everything💕
The room was very clean. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, and it's just a 15-minute walk to the aircraft carrier.
The hotel is placed directly at the famous food-mile "Little Italy" and very closed to the USS Midway Aircraft carrier museum. Just 10 minutes walk to the party-mile "Gaslamp Quarter". I highly recommend this hotel!
The staff are courteous and helpful. The room is great and well maintained. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced place to stay.
Great experience! The room was very clean and well equiped with a tiny kitchenette, fridge, microwave, hairdryer and an iron
It’s only 5 minutes from the airport and located in Little Italy, which has come to be my favorite neighborhood in downtown San Diego. The check in process was seamless and took about two minutes

This is near the airport but we really couldn’t hear the noise! I enjoyed watching the planes! Also, they are pet friendly, I think, they are near a nice dog park! I wish I had known because I left my puppy with family when I could have brought her with me!
Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful boutique hotel in down town San Diego. Big bathroom, great beds, loved the robes! Warm welcome from Susi! Convent to Balboa Theater, House of Blues, restaurants and attractions
This hotel is fantastic! I loved everything about it. The finishes are beautiful and modern, the lobby is chill and inviting, the rooms are well appointed and up to date. Very nice cafe and bar in the lobby
We had a great stay at Alma San Diego Downtown! The location is perfect—right in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of so many restaurants, shops, and attractions
Rooftop pool and deck area is lovely and large. I will definitely prefer this hotel every time I'm back in San Diego
Super pet friendly, amazing service, $20 daily credit to room is a nice touch!

San Diego, 2137 Pacific Highway Suite A (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The location was very convenient but beware it is close to the airport. The staff was super friendly and the room was very clean. Will use again
I went to the center of San Diego, and I still think the Hilton is good. The health environment and services are good. Safety comes first when I go out
Loved loved my stay at this Hilton. I was on vacation from NYC, visited LA then San Diego. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was super welcoming. Even gave food recs and things to do
Yes the continental breakfast was an additional charge and not the best selection and housekeeping is by demand only but that is how hotels are moving after the lockdown
We had a very pleasant stay. Nice locations, clean, comfortable, spacious, accomodating. Only complaint is the same thing for breakfast every day.
The staff in the hotel is friendly and helpful. Easy communication, they brought us the extra towels and blankets per request

8.7
San Diego, 900 Bayfront Court (in the centre) 🧭 Map
"Free" breakfast in the morning, better than average with lots of options. Clean, safe, nice views, all in all will stay here again
Pros: The location is excellent—just steps from the Embarcadero, Little Italy, and the Amtrak station. The surrounding area feels clean, safe, and modern, with lots of new buildings nearby
The staff members I interacted with were friendly and courteous throughout my stay. Cons: Unfortunately, a series of policies and operational issues made the stay feel disorganized and less smooth than expected
The body soap dispenser was completely empty, and while I didn’t request a refill, that was partly because my earlier request at check-in (reiterating the same request made during booking) for extra towels took over 2
For a hotel that promotes mobile key access in the app, it is also puzzling that you still need to use the physical key card to access your floor, which undermines the whole “mobile” experience
Fixtures were literally crooked: the toilet paper holder slanted at about 45 degrees, the kitchen sink unit twisted to one side, and one of the bedroom lights was cracked and tilted

The Horton Grand, Downtown/Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego1 / 30
8.6
San Diego, 311 Island Ave (in the centre) 🧭 Map
A very beautiful hotel, it looks like it has a long history.
I stayed in The Horton Grand for six nights from 8/16 till 8/22 in 2024. Unbelievably, my room (#321) did not have a refrigerator, although two staff members at the front desk (reception) claimed that every room had one
I remember several years ago before the pandemic my room did have a microwave oven and a refrigerator when I stayed in the same hotel
If I will have next chance to come here,I will also choose this hotel
But it could have been much nicer if there was no unique smell in the room. The bathroom door doesn't close smoothly probably because the parts surrounding the door is distorted a bit
But there are many attractive restaurants and bars around the hotel. Staffs are very helpful and if you want to enjoy dining out it is a convenient place

Perfect location to all things downtown. It's a old, like 100 odd years old hotel but maintained decently. Good for short stays and proximity to city center. 24 hour restaurant is a great add on
Older hotel, not much more than that. Great staff, very helpful and friendly. The connected restaurant is the best. Not the nicest place you'll ever stay @ but for the $ its the best value in the gaslamp district
If anyone is looking for great deals on hotels go to HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around. I love this hotel! It was our crew hotel for the airline I worked for
The room I was in happened to be pretty small with no microwave and no mini fridge but other rooms may vary. The rooftop is accessible and a great hangout spot and also great for taking pictures
It's old, Art Deco (I believe it was originally the St. A nice rooftop deck, in the middle of the Gaslamp District so restaurants and clubs within easy walking distance

I fell asleep and apparently nothing could wake me (although she and the night crew tried)
Room is nice but too small. Great rooftop. 13 dollars for a bottle of water and 60 dollars for the parking are really too expensive.
Only side back is room 720 there was a quite loud exhausted or ventilator that was quite loud and would start work around 7 am. Also , it’s right in the center downtown , what is great but can also be noisy
This hotel has a unique elevator. It's historic, but the doors are too heavy. There's no kettle in the room, so it's difficult to get hot water. The convention center is about a 15-minute walk away
The elevator is charming, but the door closes on you. The rooms were really nice although the doorknob in our bathroom was wonky. The view from the roof is great. There is a lot to do around the area too
The most comfortable hotel bed I have ever laid in and I travel for work! Spacious rooms, good lighting, plenty of outlets and charging ports, huge TVs, plenty of amenities and snacks downstairs

I was very happy with my stay here. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. It was a big bedroom but a tiny bathroom. There was a large shower, no bath. It was a good powerful shower
nice location, close to downtown area and good for walking to business areas. good restaurants nearby.
It is really near the Downtown Portland Nordstrom. If you are a business traveler to shop at the Anniversary Sale. You don't have to travel to Seattle. But the Portland Downtown Nordstrom store is a 5
The breakfast which was included was really good. Loads to eat and drink, nice coffee and buns! I would recommend it. Ear plugs essential, as always
location is ok but quite a long walk and hilly. Room is large and clean. The basin in not in the toilet but outside near the bed area. Breakfast is good. Overall is good for me. Thanks

The Bristol Hotel San Diego, San Diego1 / 29
8.0
San Diego, 1055 1st Ave (in the centre) 🧭 Map
[Pros] It's close to many of San Diego's major tourist attractions. It's also close to train stations (trolley and Amtrak) and bus stops, so transportation is easy
A supermarket (Ralphs) is also within a 5-minute walk, and since it's cheaper than other options, I recommend buying water and other items there
The hotel lobby wasn't that great, but the rooms were quite stylish and better than expected. There's a shared microwave in the lobby
[Not so good] The hotel was unmanned at check-in, and several guests had trouble figuring out how to check in
It feels like it's been too long. Parking is $42 per day. No water.
They don't do room service so good luck with the 2 towels you get and emptying out your own trash cans. At this point its just a fancier Motel rather than a hotel

At first I was skeptical since I have never heard of it before. But the hotel was newly renovated, very clean, and very quiet considering it is in thr Gaslamp District of San Diego
It was a confy and relaxing hotel, all amenities are so caring, the  pillows and mattress are really pleasent. I’m so enchanted to stay there. I appreciate all staff.
Very clean hotel. Loved the comfort of my room---king bed + sofa bed. Everything was clean and inviting. Modern, comfy decor. Perfect location!! Love this hotel--will be my go-to for SD trips!
The room has a king-size bed, which is spacious, clean and tidy. It is located in the gaslamp quarter and only takes 6 minutes to walk to the petrol park
Good location but sound proof in the room is non-existent... you can hear the noise from the street and other rooms.

Heater of the room worked well but was way too noisy when turning off and on automatically to adjust temperature therefore I had to turn it off and therefore we slept in a cold room as it was mid january 2026
Overall, the hotel is good, but not bad. It's close to Little Italy and about a 15-minute walk from the beach. Parking is $30 per night. Breakfast is optional and costs extra at the restaurant next door.
Room was big and beds were super comfortable! Location is good, 2 blocks from the ocean and the maritime museum
Parking fee, good location, close to the Midway Museum
I am not a freak about cleanliness, but for the first time in traveling I wanted to change the location. The bed is not made, towels are changed only upon request. The feeling of untidiness in the room did not go away
The hair dryer in the room did not work - they brought a replacement from another room, but when I took the hair dryer out of the bag, it was all dirty with other people's hair and very dirty

San Diego, 911 5th Ave (in the centre) 🧭 Map
Great location close to all the great restaurants and bars. Rooms were very clean, large, comfortable. Great little kitchen area with fullsize fridge in the room. Firness center well maintained and nice
I reserved Wyndham Harbour Lights for my son and daughter-in-law’s anniversary. I checked in early to decorate the room for them since they were coming in after work
Special shout-out to Kat in concierge for adding to my decorations with the neon “love” sign, rose petals and balloons. Accommodations were nice with a king bed, kitchenette, sofa and table
The one and only elevator was being refurbished so guests had to use the stairs. The gym and laundry facilities were on the basement level
Their room (306) overlooked 5th Avenue and very close to all the bars/restaurants in Gaslamp. They really enjoyed their stay
It was better than we expected the best was the attention in the front desk and the cleaning of the hotel

I ordered a burger from the restaurant and it was also super tasty! As some reviews warned, there is a strong fragrance that I was curious of - it definitely wasn’t something I’d not stay here for but if you’re sensitive to smells, it is something to consider; that said, I’m guessing some people really like it
Beautiful boutique hotel right in the centre . Next to Santa Fe train station. Nice gym . Modern well decorated rooms . Good amenities . Food and beverage also deserves to be highlighted.
The room is clean, tidy and beautiful! San Diego is a very beautiful city, with delicious food and beautiful seaside views, as well as a US Navy base and aircraft carrier! come back next time!
Service: The surrounding environment is elegant, you can feel the warmth of home together, you will not feel strange, the hygienic environment is elegant, the service is thoughtful, and you really feel comfortable when you go out
Great stay excellent concierge and staff experience. My only thing to note was their not being a microwave for guest to use. This can be helpful even for guest traveling with kids

Nice city to visit in September. First time visiting San Diego for a getaway trip on our Anniversary week. Enjoyed our stay and the weather turned out very good. Older brick building that used to be an apartment complex
Very nice rooms w/ full kitchen and in great condition. We only spent two nights here, since we were on our way up the coast on our trip. Lots of things to do near the hotel. Ask about the city trolley tours
The room is nice but there is an odor in the hall. It does not go into the room which is good. The service is good but the Timeshare pitch is very pushy
The rooms are cleaned and comfortable and quiet! The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating
The team of workers were very accommodating. The place was clean. Staff was friendly, and very nice, and personable.
The toilet is extremely low to the ground and we had to ask for a toilet riser, which they provided. The unit was adequate in size and the bed and even the pull out bed was quite comfortable

Absolutely amazing experience!! I had a great stay, and I celebrated my birthday, and the entire staff offered things to celebrate the day! To the entire staff, I really appreciate you! Rooms were clean, and it’s right at the heart of Downtown which made the whole experience even better!
We also loved the heated pool—only downside of this is the bar and food service is not available from 11-2 The staff is extremely knowledgeable and happy to help with recommendations for things to do and places to go around San Diego, which made our trip even better
Fantastic service and decorated hotel with some great points of service like free water/ refreshments and snacks replenished daily in the room. Nice pool, gym and fantastic location in Gaslamp area of SD.

The facilities were clean and the staff was exceptional. I will definitely be returning
The location was amazing, breakfast was good, room was perfect! The amenities like games on the patio, the park directly across the street, the parking right outside the door was just awesome
