Great view, good food at Blue restaurant. Having amenities.
Excellent location, with a sea view right from the window, and the service was warm and welcoming.
It's in a great location on a leisure and vacation island with hundreds of yachts nearby. The scenery is fantastic, and it's convenient for walking and jogging. However, the room was a bit old and had a slight musty smell, so it needed to be ventilated for a while. Fortunately, there were doors and windows at the front and back, so ventilation was smooth.
It is a 3 star hotel and that’s what you get. The room is adequate but it’s quite bare for what you are paying. Body wash had run out, there was no toothbrush or slippers, lights were quite dim, the fan didn’t work. The room shows its age. Nevertheless, it is in a very scenic location. You’ll need to rent a car to take full advantage
The hotel is very big, and it takes some walking distance from the lobby to where you stay. The facilities are generally old, but it is still quiet.
I went to San Diego on a business trip and found a small hotel like a motel. A very bad experience was that the parking lot was right in front of the room... There were noises as I walked by, and the hotel check-in was slow. Although the room is old, it is clean. What I don't understand is that there is no mineral water in the room. You have to buy it separately. You have to go to the front desk to...

Great place to stay … just the change in customer service has been so-so
The kids really like the pool.
Nice hotel.
Pretty good hotel near the airport. Can hear some noise as the walls and doors are not very noise proof.
Pretty good hotel near the airport. Can hear some noise as the walls and doors are not very noise proof.
The service was excellent from the time I walked in until the time I left. Everyone was so helpful and gave me undivided attention. I will come back again
Located at convoy so good for food, has wide parking spaces but might run out on busy days if u return late, pretty good room but doesn’t clean your room until you checkout so keep that in mind, 15-20 minute drive to downtown, overall hotel I would recommend.

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful boutique hotel in down town San Diego. Comfortable stylish rooms. Big bathroom, great beds, loved the robes! Warm welcome from Susi! Convent to Balboa Theater, House of Blues, restaurants and attractions. Cool roof pool. Good cafe with delicious food and drink and excellent service by Bradley. Friendly valets.
The location was good and the rooms were very nice although a bit smaller than one would expect. The hotel fell short for business travelers not having any coffee in the room. And the view was mainly of parking lots.
Overall, a decent hotel, but there are better with a view and in similar locations
For a place to rest your head, it had a little more personality than your average, and the staff were all friendly. For the price, though, I was a little underwhelmed. Awkward mix of lighting temperatures in the room, the bathroom had a barn door, front desk was jammed into a corner of a very loud lobby, and f&b was really disappointing. I was glad for the $20 dining credit that was part of the destination...
This hotel is fantastic! I loved everything about it. The finishes are beautiful and modern, the lobby is chill and inviting, the rooms are well appointed and up to date. Very nice cafe and bar in the lobby. Rooftop pool and deck area is lovely and large. So spacious. I will definitely prefer this hotel every time I'm back in San Diego.
Super pet friendly, amazing service, $20 daily credit to room is a nice touch!
Very friendly staff! We enjoyed our room and view. Modern, clean, and great service. Only caveats - slippery floor, rolling down blinds takes long, limited streaming ability, no shower door. Small things though. Overall great experience!

Awesome all the way around. Bummer no pool and not disclosed. For 1200 I wanted that amenity and chose the property for that reason
The room was wonderful and everyone was super nice the staff even called a cab for me when it was time to leave
the hotel was nice the room was clean but the amenities were mediocre, no shower cap or Q-tips that sort of thing that you expect when you pay the price we paid.
Beautiful hotel and rooms were top notch 👌 Roof top bar and pool were a bonus. Easy parking close by and walkable to local bars and restaurants.
Bed was great.Room was great. Didn’t eat there. Had drinks on the roof top patio and bar. It was great.

The hotel was very nice and clean and great value for the money. It just sits in a strange pocket of an area that is sketch. The hotel next door attracts a seedy crowd and there are many vagrants hanging around. However, once you got to main road the area was fine and very close to everything. I did enjoy my stay and would stay here again.
The guest services were not my issue. But the bathroom floor was not very clean, and the bed sizes are a joke. Brittany and Stephanie were great though. They were polite and were doing the best to provide our accommodations. This hotel's idea of a king size bed is actually a queen, and their queen is actually a full size bed - Just so you know what you're getting. We don't see ourselves staying here...
My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was a very nice hotel. Good amenities and it all felt very nice. But the trouble was the location. It’s in a very ghetto area, with several strip clubs not even a block away and most of the room’s view could be taken up by ads for weed stores. Has to pay $20/day for parking and the front desk even recommended we didn’t seek out free parking...
Started overnight for two nights. First night came in late but had previously spoken with the front desk about coming late at night. First night we didn't get the room type we reserved but we were able to switch the next morning. They gave us a voucher for free breakfast which was good. It was for a buffet which had a decent standard hotel breakfast. Both rooms we stayed in were clean an tidy. We had...
Always great here. Friendly and efficient staff, quiet hotel, nice pillows. Good free coffee in the morning. Better than higher end hotels in Starwood without being fancy or expensive. Perfect alternative to downtown hotels. Short ride to business district
We stayed a week and enjoyed our stay. The location is a bit shady and paying for parking is something I've never heard of before so I gave it a 4 star. It is central to everything we wanted to see and do so that was a great for us.

The staff was amazing from start to finish. The front desk assisted us with a room upgrade, and the valet even gave us a ride on their golf cart so we could make our dinner reservation on time. We ordered room service for breakfast the night before, and it arrived right on schedule the next morning.
The room itself was great and very comfortable. The only thing I would suggest improving is the toilet...
beautiful views, thoughtful lounge area, nice touches in the room, friendly staff and valet, simple and elegant, a lovely getaway!
I love classic, iconic hotels. La Valencia is not one of them. The front desk staff was unfriendly and inhospitable. Pillows are hard and lumpy. It felt very dated and lacked the charm I was hoping to find. There is so much potential here and I hope they invest in a renovation soon. The concierge and valet were professional and personable. Not many options in La Jolla but not worth the $$$.
The staff was excellent, the food and bar service were wonderful as well as the location. The hotel is an old and historical, and drastically needs renovations. It needs a Four Seasons or a St Regis to come in and really overhaul the entire structure and bring out its true beauty. Beds were so so
Hotel was very nice but way overpriced. Parking was a nightmare in the tight neighborhood, but valet was good.
Loved the pool. We had a problem with our room which required us to switch. That was frustrating because it seems the staff knew that room was a problem. Otherwise we love the hotel, location and pool area. Staff is great.

The front desk and housekeeping services were excellent
The room had a refrigerator and microwave.
The location is excellent, very close to the train station and bus station. They also offer parking vouchers (they asked me, but I didn't drive and didn't ask for one, so I don't know what they look like). There's a highly-rated and very good salad shop nearby.
I stayed for four nights to watch a Padres game. The room quality and service were excellent and well worth the price.
On the second night, the neighboring room was extremely noisy past midnight. I called the front desk, and they promptly addressed the issue, restoring peace. I truly appreciate their quick response.
The only downside was that the front desk didn’t have a nail clipper available when...

Good location. Friendly staff.
We stayed here in Sept 2025. The hotel staff service was great; they even called our room shortly after our arrival to ensure the room was acceptable.
The room and property layout was one of the most unique I have ever stayed in. The room had unique furniture, very comfortable beds, and out our door was a beautiful view of the city. While you need to orient yourself to the multi-level property, I...
Overall this hotel is fine. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are spacious and the view is gorgeous. However the hotel is really old and you can tell by the amenities. Some of the furniture are really old and need to be replaced. Therefore if you are into modern, this is not yours. Last thing the door keys have issues. During my stay of 4 days, I had to request new keys at least 6times because...
It was huge! There were so many buildings that were a part of the hotel, it was cool! The restaurant attached was good. We arrived early, well before check in time and they let us store our luggage and wait in the lobby until a room became available. A room became available at 1pm and we were able to check in. The room was clean and spacious. The shuttle drivers were so nice and informative. They drove...
This hotel is an outdoor hotel with different buildings. I was in building 6. Parking is limited even though I paid for parking, I was not able to park in the garage because it was full. The walls are thin, you can hear your neighbors but other than that the hotel clerk was...

Toilet seat wasn’t attached to the bowl, and there was a lot of banging around in the morning. Other than that property was great and staff were all very kind.
I’ve always wondered about this hotel on the bay, besides the view you get, the aesthetics of it was great! However, first experience wasn’t what I expected.
Checked in using the kiosk they had, and unfortunately got stuck while making my room key. I then stood in line to finish the process at the front desk. Was told a room number, and even double checked what he wrote on the card sleeve, and walked...
Room nicely appointed. Great view of boats. Service and food at conference was very good.
I had a very enjoyable stay
The rooms were good sized. Their products smelled amazing. The property had a great courtyard with games and a variety of sitting areas. The breakfast was very expensive and they had 25% in additional surcharges. We won’t eat there again however we will stay there again.
When we travel to San Diego, we always stay on Shelter Island because we like the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. For the price, Kona Kai is not worth the amount of money you pay to stay there. The resort was nice, but the cost of the rooms and resort fees are excessive. I believe the other hotels on the island are just as nice and far more affordable. Other issues: the bar at the adult...
Clean & updated , very pricey for what it is. Basically a hotel room with pool access in a nice area. Not with the price in my opinion. We had a good deal we thought but after the additional cost of parking and resort fees we won’t be back.

Location is decent just on the edge of Little Italy, quite quiet and easy access to the harbourfront. Pool is small and completely surrounded by other buildings and the roof top was cold in the evening even in early September. Forgetting to clean the room one day was annoying. Lobby bar was ok early evening but is closed by 8 it seems. Bed had definitely seen better days. 4 stars is a stretch imho
I was charged twice so you might want to be careful.
Very good, but pay attention to whether there is a refund for the deposit. We later found that two extra city taxes were collected, but we contacted Ctrip staff and they handled it quickly! Still give it a good review!
Located in the city center, Hilton's standard is impeccable. There is a parking lot opposite the hotel, but you need to go around to park because it is a one-way road. It is not recommended to choose a package with breakfast, which is a cash deduction.
The room is small and the service is OK

The hotel is apparently undergoing a new make over, a bit noisy and requires more improvement on the cleanliness. Got bitten by bed bugs.
The best hotel so close to everything💕
I stayed at this hotel because of its low price, and I thought it was a good value for money. It's a bit of a walk from the nearest bus stop, but the front desk staff were very helpful, and it's located in Little Italy, so it's safe to get around.
The front desk staff were very helpful. They explained things to me using their own translator.
The room was very clean. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, and it's just a 15-minute walk to the aircraft carrier.

Overall, a decent stay especially since i was only here 1 day because I came to watch Rosalia in concert. The staff was super nice and friendly, but what was off putting was coming to the room and not having any channel access. It was strange and I didn't flag it since I really came just to sleep after the concert and then head home.
My stay at Courtyard by Marriott San Diego was overall pleasant, largely due to the accommodating and friendly staff.
We initially requested a room change due to a cracked window and an unusual odor in the original room. The front desk handled the request promptly and without issue, and the new room was much more comfortable. The rest of our stay was smooth and enjoyable.
This hotel is 100% made by the staff (and location). I have been staying here since I was in college and continue to come back for the walkability to the bars/restaurants of old town but even more so the excellent service. The front desk, restaurant, etc all have this super positive and attentive spirit rarely seen these days. It’s apparent that the hotel management knows what they’re doing to create...
Hotel room had a decent sized TV. Two queen bedroom was the one we got. The room is spacious and there's good amenities like the pool. I liked the light up mirror in the bathroom and the giant mirror in the room if you are getting ready for an event. The shower was not high pressure but it was okay. Just a normal standard shower pressure I would say.
Had a nice stay overall. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. The location is very convenient, with easy access from the Old Town transit station, so there was no need to rent a car to get around.
The hotel itself is a bit older, but it was comfortable and well maintained. A solid choice if you want a practical base with great transit access.

LOVED my stay at this hotel. Wayfarer was clean and cute and right on the beach. We can't wait to come back!
Stayed in a non ocean view room but still ended up being able to see the ocean from our balcony. Room was told to be newly renovated which was nice. Everything looked new except for the bathtub/shower. Location can’t be beat and while it was too chilly to use the pool we still enjoyed sunsets from the pool area which was lovely.
The location is great but the pillows and blankets smell awful
The hotel has a very convenient location, close to many attractions and beach. However, the soundproofing is really poor. You can clearly hear footsteps and noise from the room above, which made it hard to relax and get a good night’s sleep. The stay would have been much more pleasant if the rooms were better insulated against noise. Overall, good location but would not recommend for light sleepers
We love this hotel and stay every year

good with the price and no resource fee and free parking!!
The room was clean and tidy, the location was great, the bed was comfortable, and the space was spacious. The hotel service was also excellent; they provided plenty of advance notifications before check-in. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
Entrance to hotel is tricky. Balcony Courtyard view is nice. Room is clean safe and decen. However check in took way too long. Should be more efficient and smooth. Give the pple the key and info they need and move on to the next customer. Maximize the time and less is more in sharing some times..
Great value for money, especially for self-driving tourists! The hotel's facilities and decor are five-star quality, and the service is excellent, all at a very affordable price.
Overall, the hotel experience was good, though the location isn't ideal, making dining and transportation a bit inconvenient. The room was clean and tidy, and the soundproofing was decent, ensuring a good night's sleep. The front desk service was professional and efficient. For its category, it offers good value for money, making it suitable for business or short trips.
This is a very old hotel, more like a motel.
Our room had direct access to the public parking lot downstairs, which made us feel unsafe.

A very beautiful hotel, it looks like it has a long history.
If I will have next chance to come here,I will also choose this hotel
I stayed in The Horton Grand for six nights from 8/16 till 8/22 in 2024. Unbelievably, my room (#321) did not have a refrigerator, although two staff members at the front desk (reception) claimed that every room had one. I remember several years ago before the pandemic my room did have a microwave oven and a refrigerator when I stayed in the same hotel.
It is a great hotel with rich heritage, highly recommended
Great location in the Gaslamp District. The hotel is charming as a renovation from the past, especially the balconies overlooking the courtyard and the wooden staircase up to the rooms. The room itself was adequate. Plastic drinking cups felt really low-end and the mattress wasn't as firm as I would have hoped for. Room is nice but too small. Great rooftop. 13 dollars for a bottle of water and 60 dollars for the parking are really too expensive.
Great location and clean property. However, housekeeping required multiple reminders and service was minimal—bed was made but sheets were never changed during my 5-night stay, and the robe was not replaced. The minibar fridge was fully stocked with hotel items, leaving no room for personal use. Storage for luggage was limited. The retro elevator adds charm, but the heavy manual door and gate make it...
During my trip to San Diego, I booked a hotel in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter (established in 1913) on Ctrip. The old elevator is quite unique. The rooms aren't big, but the cleanliness and amenities are okay, and it's not noisy. We stayed on the 11th floor, the highest floor, and the rooftop terrace offers a great view of the city!
The transportation in the downtown area is quite convenient. The train is a few minutes' walk away. The hotel's old-fashioned elevator is antique-grade. The refrigerator is full and there is no room for anything.
This hotel has a unique elevator. It's historic, but the doors are too heavy. The speed is unavoidable.
There's no kettle in the room, so it's difficult to get hot water.
The convention center is about a 15-minute walk away.
The interior was so cute and exciting.
The amenities were Diptique and perfect.
The rooftop view overlooks downtown.
A free welcome drink is included. You can order at the restaurant next door.

Very poor cleaning, the room is frankly dirty. Dirty carpet.
