Loved this place!! Clean, quiet, respectful. For sharing a bathroom and shower, we never had to wait and having our room right across the hall made it feel like ours almost. Great view of China Town dragon gate entry, art studios, French cafes. Fabulous location, can walk almost anywhere or take a bus. Very helpful staff... !

Rooms do NOT all come with a mini fridge. You have to make sure there's one if you want or need it. The lounge has microwave, free fresh coffee, snack and drink machines, and a nice area to sit, to eat, to study. Very cute atmosphere.

Small grocery stores and cafes really closeby. It's great to be prepared to walk up and down lots of hills if you stay here or almost anywhere in this city.

If you expected a mini fridge but didn't get one , the staff let us put our food in the staff fridge. But they had to handle it, put it in a bag and label it. And they had to retrieve it for us. They were extremely graceful and kind doing that.

Great location within walking distance of everything. Clean, comfortable, and affordable compared with other nearby hotels. The staff is friendly and the overall experience was excellent.

This place is clean and decent for the price. The cons would be that the room is a little stuffy. You can open the window but as some reviews have said the street is pretty noisy. However, they do provide you with a fan. I personally think that the restroom and the shower don’t have a good ventilation, but my top priority is cleanliness (which meets my standard for the given price point) so it can be forgiven.

Good value for the affordable price. Rooms were simple but clean. Staff at the front desk were efficient and helpful. There are plenty of bathrooms so I never had to wait. Shared spaces(bathroom,showers, etc) looked very clean throughout my stay. I saw someone in charge refuse to allow a guest to stay in a less than completely clean room, which suggests they do care about cleanliness and their guests, unlike some other cheap options in the area.

The best place to stay that only I can say. Value for money. Very clean n neat rooms. spacious corridor. 24x7 helping person on reception desk. Microwave for Self catering at the cafeteria with plates n cups. What else do u need for a stay ?
A grocery shop is just adjacent to the hotel where you will easily get daily needed items n the best part is it's open from 9am to 9pm.

I admit to having reserved a one night stay for myself with very low expectations, given the location and inexpensive rate. I was pleasantly surprised by what I found - the small room was comfortable, relatively quiet, and spotless. I'd definitely return.

I haven’t spent my full night yet, but I am very pleased with this hotel so far. Remember, 2-stars for a hotel is a classification system for how extensive it’s services are, not a measure of its quality. This hotel feels very high quality for its price point.

Everything is very clean (and even new-looking), the location is great, the lobby is small but efficiently designed and inviting, and Wendy at the front desk was incredibly thoughtful and friendly.

I had a special case where I needed her to unlock my door each time, but each time I approached her (even a few times in ten minutes) she looked up at me immediately with an open and patient smile. She put the guest (me) first in everything she did.

Be aware that this hotel has shared private bathrooms and (separate) shared private showers. I was lucky and didn’t run into any delays while I waited on anyone, but that could be a concern for you.

There’s a (as of this writing) $100 deposit that you will be refunded at the end of your stay, assuming you don’t do anything stupid.

The marker on Google Maps is inaccurate—the hotel has a narrow entrance uphill of Starbucks on Grant next to a mini-mart.

It is very close to the Dragon Gate entrance to Chinatown, and the little Irish pub (the Irish Bank) was a great spot a minute’s walk away.

The front desk girls were so kind and helpful. Rooms were clean. Bathrooms as well. They are shared. Felt very safe. Good location for public transportation. Bart and Muni. Caltrain is a 30 minute walk or quick by transit.
