Convenient for downtown. Several public transport lines are very close, so connections are good. The accommodation is basic but clean. No central heating, just a small fan heater, so if you're OK with the noise, it's fine. No in-room safe or coffee. WiFi works just fine. Very limited number of electrical sockets in the room. The lift in ancient, but it does work.

We had a great stay here, others have mentioned the temperature but we were very comfortable (outside temps were in the 50s). Location for us was perfect, close to everything we needed.

I had a good stay at Edwardian. Understand what you are booking- no frills space to sleep. The hotel is on Market street, it's a loud spot. The building is older so expect there to be gaps where sound is going to get through. Aside from that, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom nice and spacious. All considered, I was happy with my stay here.

I've stayed at this place for years. In the past year it's been such and odd experience. The website doesn't work, the phone # on google doesn't work. You arrive to the hotel and no one answers the door and when they finally do after a 1/2 an hour of standing out front the lady in the front office is just rude. I just tried calling to book another night and the same women says they don't do same day bookings, when I had just done a week prior. I love the location and the rooms are all remodeled and the price is good but wow... Get someone else to run your biz if you don't know how.

I travel to UCSF every three weeks and stay at the Edwardian, which I prefer after trying several hotels. I've stayed in three different rooms there; each offers good value with clean, renovated, and comfortable spaces. The beds are cozy, towels plush, and TVs connect to streaming services, perfect for relaxing. I request rooms at the back to avoid Market Street’s hustle. It’s also near Hayes Valley, with many restaurants and shops. It exceeds my expectations of what is classified as a 2-star hotel.

Location is great. It’s located right on Market so you re close to Dolores Park, Painted Ladies and Castro if you go west. And not far away at all from Union Square and Embarcadero if you head East. There is a cable car stop right at the hotel’s door. The staff is extremely friendly, specially Rocky cause he can speak spanish (in case you need it). Day n’ night they offer complementary infusion such as coffee, tea and water. Also chocolate snack at the front desk. You dont get a surprise for what you pay, is a great value. The cleaning is perfect.

All the staff at this hotel were fabulous. They were extremely helpful with how to get to places, best places to go etc. Super friendly, nice clean rooms and bathroom. If you don't have a car while in SF, this place has a street car stop across the road taking you directly to Fisherman's Wharf or the Castro. A block away is the bus stop to go to the Haight. Couldn't ask for more!

Great stay at the hotel. Very helpful staff, great location, lovely rooms. We had a deluxe queen and it was great, plenty space. Would definitely recommend

The hotel staff are very nice and the rooms are clean (if not a bit small, but for the price it's worth it).

Great price and location in S.F.. I would particularly like to point out and compliment the front office staff for their immense helpfulness and hospitality; I messed up the shipment for some packages that were to be picked up from the hotel after I left, and they went so far as to kindly print my new shipping labels and attach them after I called up.

The service alone puts it to 5 stars. As for the rooms, the bed was clean, soft and comfortable; same goes for everything else. My only minor complaint would be the poor water pressure in the showers, but I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

Thank you Jeffrey for making my short trip a wonderful one.

Stopped by for drinks after holiday party. Nice restaurant with a full bar. Pretty good drinks.

We went for the burger since many rave it is one of the best in SF. It was delicious & perfectly medium rare as requested, but I don’t see myself going back anytime soon for a 23$ burger with so many other good value crave worthy choices around. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Quick service around 1pm on a weekday.

|| Ambience is great. Waited more than an hour on a hot day to try their specialty chicken.. It was okay. I'm glad I tried it, but will not order it again. ?
02.12.2017 James
1. Make a dinner reservation in advance.
2. Order the chicken for two immediately (it takes about an hour to cook).
3. Enjoy some small plates and drinks, but leave room for the chicken.
4. If you've got room, order dessert.

Romantic atmosphere, seems to attract semi-final clientele.

Amazing burger and super friendly service. Personally, wasn't too impressed with the roasted chicken but everyone else on the table seemed to love it. Overall we had a great time here :)

Go here hungry and expect to leave full. It was an amazing experience of lots of different meats. Nice salad bar as well.

Delicious meat for days. They keep coming back with different options (including shrimp) unless you say you're good. In addition to that, they have a great salad bar. You will not leave hungry. I'm not an expert but the wine selection seemed ok and they had beer and mixed drinks.
12.07.2017 Eric
Plan to eat for hours. When I go here I plan ahead and eat as little as I can for a day or so before I go. The service is continuous - they keep bringing food until you surrender and turn the little indicator wheel from green (bring more meat) to red (stop - I'm going to explode). There is a salad bar that is stocked with fantastic food but the reason you should go is the meats. They keep bringing the best cuts of meat for as long as you can keep eating. Pace yourself. This is a marathon; not a sprint. Take your time and set a pace you can maintain or you will miss out..... and or die from eating too fast.

Nice enough outdoor spot for a beer garden but nothing special. I wish they had a broader selection of beers. It was somewhat lacking compared to others I've been to, and their choices for classic german styles were rather wanting compared to potential alternatives.
11.11.2017 Varun
Awesome outdoors beer garden with lots of tables and beer by the litre. You even get to keep your mug!! When we visited there was a petting zoo setup nearby which made it even more fun. Love this spot.
15.10.2017 Elizabeth
Pleasant outdoor space with tasty beer and German food (sausages, large pretzels, etc). Can be somewhat crowded but I've never been unable to find room. Babies are permitted.
22.09.2017 Javier
Fun place when its sunny. Minus one star for slow service. They really need more beer servers. I would have had more beer if it wasn't for the long line
29.04.2017 Heliana
Love this place. The energy is really great. Such a nice outdoor space to hang out with friends or peeps from office - a great place for some great beer, pickles, pretzels and sausages. Good fun! Have been here already twice and will be back. It can get bit cold after sunset so bring a jacket! It is usually pretty packed even on weekdays so be prepared to spend few minutes in line to order. Love the community benches!
