The Barnes San Francisco, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in San Francisco

We stayed quite comfortably here for 5 nights. Service and reception were very friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable, although with only a quilt and no lighter blankets we found it hard to sleep without overheating.
This is old building has been refurbished to be fairly comfortable and modern, but the sloping floor and gaps under the door give away the age.
We enjoyed the comfortable area in the lobby to sit and read. We also appreciated the late check out (noon), and their willingness to store our luggage for a few hours until we were ready to train out to the airport.
No problem recommending this place, as long as you don’t expect 5 star accommodation.

We have experienced poor customer service, as the hotel has repeatedly changed our room during our stay. The front desk are very rude.

Amazing hotel in Union Square, San Francisco, California.

I really hate to leave a negative review, I never like doing it, but sometimes it's just necessary. I booked and paid for a deluxe room with a king-sized bed. After a very long journey and terrible jet lag, I was really looking forward to some comfort. Instead, I was given a standard room with a double bed, which made getting any rest impossible. When I complained, they told me the hotel doesn't offer deluxe rooms through third-party platforms... so how did I manage to book one then? They didn't offer any solutions, and I ended up spending 3 nights in a room type different from what I believed I had paid for.

Two other things I disliked: the general smell of the hotel (to me it smelled like pee, but that might be subjective). The odor was really unpleasant for me.

The second issue was the air conditioning. It was incredibly noisy all night, even after I turned it off (I don't understand how that's possible). The facilities feel very old, which (along with the smell) made the place seem dirty.

The staff, however, were very friendly, I can't deny that.

I truly regret having to leave this review, but it's an honest account of my experience.

Great location and the front desk staff were really friendly. The lobby seating area is a nice spot to relax. They offer free hot coffee in the morning, and the room's bathroom having a handheld showerhead was a huge plus!

Great location! Will definitely stay again

Great location a few steps away from Union Square. Very ideal starting point to get around from, near the BART, and at the center of SFO shopping.
