This hostel is extremely low budget and low maintenance. Everything was old and low quality, parts missing, things falling off. During check in you are given a thin sheet to cover your mattress and a pillowcase for your plastic pillow. Come prepared with your own blanket. In the room there are no fans. Windows fully open if you need air or a quick exit from current life. In the restroom, toilet paper is provided but that's about it. No complementary hand soap or little shampoo. The water temperature in the shower was fickle and impossible to adjust. It was a miserable experience.
Overall... it was better than sleeping in my car that night.

Everything was exactly as promised. If you are staying a hostel you don't expect luxury. The beds are incredibly uncomfortable, but if all you need to do is sleep, it works. The staff is nice and friendly, the bathrooms are small but work. If you dont need luxury and are just looking for q lace to stay this place is great.

This place is trash. The beds are uncomfortable, the rooms are hot, the streets are loud, the pancake breakfast is a joke (they had three burners running for the whole building so you wait in line for 45 minutes to make yourself a pancake), everything is dirty, my shower didn't work properly, and it's in the worst area of town with homeless people everywhere. And here's the worst part of my experience: my car was broken into on the street and my stuff was stolen. If they would charge really cheap rates, then I would say I don't mind all the conditions since I'm getting a good deal. But they charge just as much if not more than other much nicer hostels. Do you need any more reasons not to stay here?

Staff and people are super nice.
It's not in the best area of town and it wasn't the cleanest place ever, but definitely adequate and good for the price. Plus you will meet other great travelers around pancake breakfast that you have the option of having in the morning (cook your own).
Overall, positive experience with a few caveats if you are sensitive to cleanliness and the Tenderloin district of San Francisco.

For value, it's the best choice. The 4 bed room I stayed in was small, but had a working bathroom and was clean. Staff made sure my group was enjoying our stay, helped if we had questions, and were all around very knowledgeable about the city. The hostel also has free beer every night and a killer basement/hangout area with a dancefloor, poker table, and beer pong table. The only thing I disliked was the valet service the hostel recommended. It was the cheapest option but it took sometimes 30 minutes for valet to get my car.

Dinner was great. Came back the next day for Wednesday pork chop special and told by new manager that had to wait an hour for menu to be available. At 3.30pm At the same time she went ahead with her staff and seated a couple that came after us. When asked why they said oh sorry and too bad for you and everyone else that was waiting to spend money have to wait til 4.30. She said she was new and unable to handle the job.
Wow. Never will go to daily grill again. Spent 300 first night in town. I have never written a review but because it popped up on my phone this is the first and it had to be bad. Daily grill is scratched from my list.

Came in at 11:00 am, we sat at the bar thinking faster service. We were told the kitchen is switching from breakfast to lunch, had to wait 10 minutes before they could make food. 45 minutes later we received our lunch. There was a bartender switch after our order was placed, and it was a shame, the bartender that came in had no care for his customers, stress on his face with every request. A couple came in and waited 20 minutes to even get a greeting...poor service.

Best option for good food on Union Square. We have been there for 3 times last 2 days. Breakfast and dinner. Service is good and food is delicious.

Had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner here with my wife. The place was packed but the food was still amazing and the server was very attentive and helpful. We loved it!

This place! I am VERY picky when it comes to good food. Not only was our food AMAZING but our server Peni was the BEST! We cannot wait to come back from Seattle!

This place was almost completely empty when I entered for breakfast, and that made me question my decision to eat there. I had the eggs benedict, and they were delicious though on the high-priced side. I did not like the chairs that they used at the dining tables semicolon not having a back on a stool makes it very uncomfortable.

My wife and I had breakfast there. Staff were attentive and courteous. Breakfast was great. Open floor plan and natural lighting adds for a nice atmosphere. The big plus was that the music was mostly 70's top 40 and the volume was subdued.

The service is so BAD here. The food is alright. The drinks are decent, but the service is sad. The food is over priced for what you get, expect to wait a long time for your food to arrive once you order. I don’t recommend this place ? This place is covfefe.

We were served pretty quickly, but the food took 45 minutes to get to us. People who arrived later than us got served first too. Check out the Eggs Benedict... or rather, the sad attempt at it.
