I would like to bring the following matters to your attention:
Lack of Advertised Amenities: Reliable Wi-Fi was a primary requirement for my booking. Despite being advertised, the Wi-Fi was non-functional for the duration of my five-day stay. Additionally, the OpenKey app failed to work entirely, forcing me to seek manual assistance every time I needed to access my room. The TV failed to work due to no wifi and no cable.
Property Maintenance & Damage: There was wet paint in the main lobby and staircases. Consequently, my jacket was stained and ruined. Furthermore, a fire alarm went off at 1:00 AM during the stay, which was incredibly disruptive.
Hygiene & Safety: The condition of the shared bathrooms was unsanitary and poorly maintained. More concerningly, I encountered massive bugs inside my guest room, which is completely unacceptable for a hospitality establishment.
Given the accumulation of these issues—specifically the breach of advertised services (Wi-Fi/Keyless entry), the damage to my personal property (jacket), and the lack of basic cleanliness—I am requesting a partial refund for my stay. I believe this is a fair resolution considering the significant inconvenience and the cost of replacing my ruined clothing.
Guests seemed to sit on a chair that was right outside my room at night which was a bit odd. The area is okay, it’s centrally located and has some bustling restaurants but I explored nicer ones and it’s a bit close to some more sketchy parts. I would say you get what you pay for but I paid too much for this stay. Definitely bring earplugs. Very glad I did.
The housekeepers work hard but were knocking on the door at 8:30am which seemed a bit early, especially when I was due to check out anyway at 11am.
Overall such a lovely part to the weekend and I'm exited to return.
Cons:
location - Although it provides easy access to Hayes st shops and cafes and the rest of the town, as a solo traveller I didn't feel comfortable walking around, at all. It doesn't seem to be a safe part of the town and if you like to explore the city on foot, one wrong turn in the area and you'll find yourself in bad area like Ellis st.
Rooms, facilities, value for money - I didn't expect 4-5 star quality of this place, but the double room I had was so tiny that I couldn't even open my small suitcase fully on the floor. Plus, the rooms don't even have decent heating / cooling facilities. I have trouble sleeping at night because it was freezing (no extra blanket either). To add to the joy in the middle of the nighy I had to walk down the icy floor for the shared bathroom.
Unfortunately this was the most uncomfortable holiday accommodation I've ever booled. The quality of this place was just below acceptable.
The breakfast was great, the kitchen area was newly renovated as well.
Downside was, they said that the front desk was open 24 hours and this was not the case. We had some things on the refrigerator that we weren't able to retrieve because there was nobody available at the front desk when we checked out early in the morning - even though we called the afternoon before and they said that there would be.
Otherwise, good value for your money.

The food and drinks here are generally excellent. It's not the biggest menu, but almost everything I've tried I have liked. There was one time when the gumbo was not very good, but that has been the exception rather than the rule.
The space is large and open, with high ceilings. Not intimate, but still manages to feel inviting. There are a few very large tables, making this a good choice for large groups. There is also a very long bar where you can generally find a seat even if it's busy if you are dining solo.
The service is generally good (not outstanding, but good). The food is reasonably priced if you only plan on getting an entree, but if you decide to order a bunch of sides and drinks it can add up quickly.
All in all, I would definitely recommend trying this place if you like southern food and haven't been here before.
Note: I went back for brkfst; even better!
