Wonderful stay at King George Hotel, San Francisco! We had a fantastic experience at the King George Hotel in San Francisco. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and very well located, making it easy to explore the city. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the staff — everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. A special thank you to Abdullah, who was especially helpful and professional. He took the time to explain what attractions we should see around the city and gave us clear, practical guidance on how to use FastTrak, which saved us a lot of time and stress while traveling. His local knowledge and genuine willingness to help made a big difference in our trip. If you’re looking for a hotel with excellent service, friendly staff, and people who truly care about their guests, I highly recommend the King George Hotel. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband has made a reservation for a room in King George Hotel for January 2027 from Expedia and had successfully done it one month ago. King George cancelled our reservation yesterday with the reason that they have reached to his credit card company and did not verified his card information. My husband called the credit card company and confirmed that no such request being made by King George or otherwise they would have some record. Based on many years of experiences, I believe my credit card company is much more trustworthy. I also read on other review of TripAdvisor who indicated that King George management is very greedy and my situation certainly support this notion as the current posted price of the room is significantly higher than what he has booked. Although King George may have a convenient location to Union Square, just beware what kind of people you are dealing with.

Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff, cool lobby. Elevator is slow and rooms are tiny, but otherwise very nice and charming. Soft towels and good location. :)

3.5 ⭐️ Proximity to Union Square are the friendly staff are the hotel’s primary attraction. Rooms are warm down, poorly isolated and a the hot water can take a while to reach the shower.
Coffee and light pastries are served in the morning. Try Mason Diner next door for breakfast. A small bar and vending machine for soda. No gym.

Overall, not bad. The hotel's location was NOT AT ALL an issue in relation to The Tenderloin. I even walked one block west, and besides a few homeless people, there was no evidence of crime and at no point did I feel unsafe. The rooms are smaller, but again this was made clear in the description. The building IS, as stated in the description and other reviews, old, this affected me in two ways. First, others have stated that there is no air conditioning and just a fan. As I visited during the first week of November, this was not an issue, however, I encountered the reverse of this problem as it was cold in the morning, but the heat is apparently centrally controlled by radiator and not on. Second, it took (no exaggeration) 15 minutes for hot water to reach the shower. The hotel often says, the building is old in response to other reviews. Well, yes, but it seems like that they are leaning on that as a "crutch" as an excuse for why certain things are the way that they are.

Dinner was great. Came back the next day for Wednesday pork chop special and told by new manager that had to wait an hour for menu to be available. At 3.30pm At the same time she went ahead with her staff and seated a couple that came after us. When asked why they said oh sorry and too bad for you and everyone else that was waiting to spend money have to wait til 4.30. She said she was new and unable to handle the job.
Wow. Never will go to daily grill again. Spent 300 first night in town. I have never written a review but because it popped up on my phone this is the first and it had to be bad. Daily grill is scratched from my list.

Came in at 11:00 am, we sat at the bar thinking faster service. We were told the kitchen is switching from breakfast to lunch, had to wait 10 minutes before they could make food. 45 minutes later we received our lunch. There was a bartender switch after our order was placed, and it was a shame, the bartender that came in had no care for his customers, stress on his face with every request. A couple came in and waited 20 minutes to even get a greeting...poor service.

Best option for good food on Union Square. We have been there for 3 times last 2 days. Breakfast and dinner. Service is good and food is delicious.

Had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner here with my wife. The place was packed but the food was still amazing and the server was very attentive and helpful. We loved it!

This place! I am VERY picky when it comes to good food. Not only was our food AMAZING but our server Peni was the BEST! We cannot wait to come back from Seattle!

This place was almost completely empty when I entered for breakfast, and that made me question my decision to eat there. I had the eggs benedict, and they were delicious though on the high-priced side. I did not like the chairs that they used at the dining tables semicolon not having a back on a stool makes it very uncomfortable.

My wife and I had breakfast there. Staff were attentive and courteous. Breakfast was great. Open floor plan and natural lighting adds for a nice atmosphere. The big plus was that the music was mostly 70's top 40 and the volume was subdued.

The service is so BAD here. The food is alright. The drinks are decent, but the service is sad. The food is over priced for what you get, expect to wait a long time for your food to arrive once you order. I don’t recommend this place ? This place is covfefe.

We were served pretty quickly, but the food took 45 minutes to get to us. People who arrived later than us got served first too. Check out the Eggs Benedict... or rather, the sad attempt at it.
