Very nice place. Once you enter the lobby you are transported to a world away from the chaos of The City. The always gracious staff are genuinely glad you are there and it shows in their smiles.
Upon registering and headed up to the rooms, you'll find an unexpected oasis complete with palm trees.
The rooms are done in a mod-60's style that is clean and inviting without being kitschy. Many rooms are awash in light from the center-facing full-wall windows (that remind me of fishbowls). But, to my comfort, there are corner units that are the cat's meow for privacy seekers like myself.
I got to be a guest for 10 days and appreciated the Americania's staff- lead by a very nice day manager (Charlie?). As one who has stayed in a few SF hotels, I definitely recommend this one and know your stay will be just as enjoyable.

Very clean, and very quiet. Area not the best of you are not familiar. But I have never felt uncomfortable. I will definitely stay here again on my next work trip!

Great place to leave the stress of the city behind. Quiet oasis of a hotel. Once you've checked in you go up to an open-air layout that brings the peace of security with fresh air enviorns. The staff is always courteous and accommodating. And ya gotta love the heated pool! Sweet!

The hotel was within walking distance of the Moscone center, although it was through a sketchy part of San Francisco (not the worst part, though). The hotel itself was nice with great sheets and towels, and the rooms were small for our needs but fine for a group of 4 or 5. Service was good even at odd times in the night.

Great hotel in my experience. Clean room, well maintained. Great housekeeping, attention to details, very clean every day. Friendly front staff. The swimming pool is crystal clear, well maintained and is nicely heated - greatly enjoyed swimming in it in February after a full work day on my feet. Located in a decent area of SF, and is a walking distance to Moscone Center and downtown. Awesome coffee shop one street over (Saint Frank coffee). Will stay again and recommend to anyone.

Open courtyard style, so all hallways on upper floors look down onto courtyard. We had four rooms here. The front desk staff was super courteous, regardless of which shift we encountered. They were helpful with maps, menus, side trip ideas, and safety concerns regarding where and when to walk around. The dining room and bar have a pleasant, ecclectic vibe. Dinner was simple and tasty, and our drinks were well-made. Didn't taste like "hotel food", thank goodness. Breakfast is not complimentary, but was amazing. Coffee was heavenly. Restaurant staff was ever so attentive and my 4 year old nephew was quite content with his meal. The outdoor pool is immaculate. Exercise room was clean. We didn't have a fridge in the room, which would have been convenient, but otherwise, this was a great experience for a hotel, and we will definitely return.
